Freeman, it's good to hear your voice. I love my ultralight. I was fishing for trout with it and hooked a 27" chrome Steely😆. What I riot reeling that in.
My boys used micro rods. I put 30lb hi Viz addicted line on them tho. It’s scary when you hook a big one. We would also use the little ice rods well on the boat. In the end we have all gotten little bigger rods now and run 9 footers. We run all size jigs even 4 and 6 oz from the boat. Crazy fun. My youngest caught a thick 24” ling and screamed dad I’m stuck im stuck then the line went for a run. He was running a small swim bait, you never know what you’re gonna hook lol. 5years old and he battled that dragon for 20 mins. But hey if you only got the tiny lake rod go get some tight lines 👍👍
