That we've had new Lorna Shore, new Brand of Sacrifice, new Shadow of Intent, new Darko US (and the latter is where the focus should be here) since their last LP, Thy Art is a bit bland and predictable here.
This sounds like a b-side off their last album.
This is perhaps a bit more intelligible, but it's also super safe and I personally think doesn't do anything to move their sound forward.
The track they did for the split was far more interesting.
Honestly, this doesn't make me hopeful for a new album, just hopeful that the rest of the album is a bit less 'paint by numbers' deathcore.
