Nice setup. Very thoughtful and most importantly - it got the job done! Not a fan of Trigon's goofy marketers taking "AR" and turning it into "all-round". AR is almost if not actual industry standard for "all-road". ie. That is certainly no MTB!

Well done Ollie, that was a beast...or many beasts combined given those climbs. 👍🙌👏 Question: why no aerobars or extensions? Were they permitted in the rules? I'm just thinking of comfort, not performance for that distance, given neck issues. What would you do differently?
I love the idea of "the real world condition" now brands don't need any hard numbers anymore. Anything goes now. They must be laughing harder than before as they can spin the number even more freely than before
@@neleempatel7002profit margins really aren't that high. Clothes are where the real margins are made, not bikes. Of course, it's less money in total though.
Some say: Trigon used to build frames for brands like BMC, Canyon, Rose or Treck and they provided the 2011 Tour winning bike and 2014 Vuelta winning bike 🤫
@@madmonkeycycling9098 yes my research showed that only some models were made by Trigon not the whole range. When you have further information please let me know because I didn’t find that much to be honest.
Congrats on the effort! Ollie will be amazed to learn there's actually some aerodynamic handlebar bags that can even reduce your drag, just as with the saddle bags. At least that's what Cyclite claims for their handlebar bag. Restrap race aero bar bag also comes to mind, but I don't remember them putting up any numbers. Probably worth further investigation or even some testing in the wind tunnel. I imagine it works similar to some of the drinking systems seen in triathlon bikes, like the bow of a ship parting the air for smoother airflow before it encounters the mess that is the rider.
Why you haven't choose Tailfin top tube pack with a flap instead of zipper? it is much easier to acces and also waterproof... What saddle bag do you use on the rear and how big is it?
What size frame is it please? I assume an M? I have been riding a Trigon RQC-29 since 2014 and it's the nicest ride I've ever had (and I've had Raleigh, Ciocc, Concorde, Colnago, Coppi and others since the mid 80´s)
First google search: "Don’t recognize the brand Trigon? You probably wouldn’t recognize the parent company, either. But Great Go Cycles has been making frames and components for companies like Pinarello, Blue, Leopard and FSA for years.." You are welcome.
I’m curious to know if you got any punctures/mechanicals? And as it was multi day event, did you take spare jerseys/shorts? I’ve done a 1000km event and felt like I took a lot more stuff!
Hi Ollie. Those pimples on the frame (like the seam on a cricket ball or dimples on a golf ball) are very interesting. Did you notice that Mathiew Van der Pol's Dutch jersey at the worlds had spots? I'm wondering if his spots were embossed pimples to do for his arms what the bike ones do for the frame tubes? Any ideas?
I know you said you don't like frame bags because of your knees and tested that rear saddle bag is faster, (than no saddle bag) but in my case, I don't have the knee problem (because of the position of my cleats which place my legs out wider, which eliminated hotfoot) and so I run frame bags and have always wondered how much more aero, if at all it is to run a frame bag than not running a frame bag? For my long rides I run a tri bottle setup out the back of the saddle which apparently gives the same aero advantage to running a saddle bag out there.
Great bit of kit there! Wonderful vid. Hmmmm, spoiler alert I did watch your vid on you doing the ride. Just being I hope a little vague, congrats. Beautiful ride with beautiful scenery. If I were 30 years younger............

The stack height was clearly not high enough on this bike for this level of Endurance ride. Olly's neck gave out by the halfway, but he struggled on regardless. Power to him, but you need a more "endurance" spec bike for a more comforable (upright) position.
