That model is so hard to find in Poteau Oklahoma of the US. In the 75 mile range. I have been looking for one for a while now. Five years ago you could find them left and right. I haven’t found any. The only one I have found is a 93 model which is around $4,000.
You are right about that dexcol coolant that stuff is garbage. You seem to really love this car so I would recommend using Evans coolant it a waterless coolant. It’s on the expensive side but I think it’s well worth it. It also requires a certain process. I’ll leave you to research that on your own if you’re interested.
I even looked at a Buick century (94-96) with the same engine I have in this car and the reservoir was in bad shape. That jug had nothing but sludge from that dex kill. The former co worker wanted to sell it to me but I said no. I’m already tied up with two cars and I don’t have space or money for three cars. You’re right on the Evans coolant, it is expensive. I found out that many people use it in their muscle cars, and I heard it boils at 370 degrees which is sick, but I’d rather stick with peak. Peak coolant (all makes and models) is good too. Just avoid the dex cool.
Have you had problems with your ignition and turning signals? My signal switch won't work and gets stuck and my key is now stuck in the ignition and won't turn so I can get the key back out
No I haven’t, but the first thing I would do is to wiggle the steering wheel while you attempt to turn the key. Most GM cars ignitions will lock when the steering wheel is locked up. Idk if this is gonna work in that scenario, but I’d give it a shot. I’ve worked on many GM cars and I’ve come across this many times.
@@tonysteele3805 oh I see, maybe it was because of the extra air I added in my tires. When the weather temp gets low, the tire pressure decreases. So I put in between like 40 or 50 psi as a precaution just in case the tires get flat (I was putting it in storage for the winter). That’s also why I had it on jack stands one time.
@@stacieshelton7408 sorry to hear that Stacie. It’s nice that she gave it to you though, since these things are like classics now. I’m glad I still have this car.
Congratulations!! I just bought my first car at 17 years old. It was a 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix SE 4 Door. I bought it at 67,000 miles for $2000.
Thanks and that’s awesome
Same

Why is it sprung so high? Yikes!
What do you mean?
@@maximagmhondafan8892 just seems really high, like it has a taller spring on it or something. 4x4 package hehe :)
