You are hoping for a lot to run in the 8's... Plus you will have to put a lot of money in the car and engine. I have a 66 SS Chevelle, tube chassis car with a 468 in it, strictly a drag car and runs in the 8's. at 152.52 mph foot braking it. 5.62 et. in the 1/8th at 123 mph. Will run faster the next time by using the trans brake. Powerglide 2 speed trans. 1.80 low gear. Car is light, 2,370 lbs. with driver. 800 HP. SV1 carb. 4.86 reargear 9" Ford, aluminum center section, Strange Ultra case, 35 spline axles, 5/8" studs on rear axles. Spindle mounted struts on the front. The 468 makes 1.7 HP per cubic inch. I built the engine myself.
