Thought of this re: yesterday's blog - did you know your doctor can help you get a disability plaque since you're pregnant? My friend who had twins found this a lifesaver, esp post pregnancy. Not only can you park in the special spots, but in CA you don't have to pay for any parking meter, and meter posted times don't count :)
@@HannahRose19960 Does your learning disability make it hard for you to walk from one place to another? Colleen's pregnancy does. That is why it would only be temporary. And if her doctor deems it necessary, she could get a temporary placard for the car.

My mom's side of the family is Italian American, and my great-grandmother has a special artichoke recipe! We slice the heads off, then pound the flat part on a cutting board a couple times to create space between the leaves. We then fill the space with spices, herbs, and breadcrumbs (my great-grandmother's secret ingredient is anchovies, but they are totally optional). Put it in a pot with water or broth and steam until tender. You can then dip in butter or whatever you like, and you use your teeth to scrape the stuffing and artichoke flesh off the leaf. It's such a weird and fun thing to eat, and I love introducing people to artichoke. This made me really nostalgic. So yes, we love artichoke, and we definitely eat it! But this way of preparing is time consuming, and considered a labor of love, so this is sort of a special holiday food in my family. Love from Florida, stay well queen :)
I'm anosmic (no sense of smell) but I ALWAYS get so excited to go to a candle store and sniff all the candles I can't smell. It makes zero sense, but I love it 🤣

Oh girl I LOVE artichokes! I used to eat them all the time and NOBODY I know eats them except in dips. I would bake them with oil, garlic, salt and pepper and eat it just like that. SO GOOD I FEEL YOU!
Hey Colleen I have chronic sinus issues and my nose is stuffed up pretty frequently because I have bad allergies. You should ask your doc about flonase, a prescribed nasal spray. It changed my life.
Oh my heck Colleen! I listened to you talk about Disney and it gave me all the feels!! I went when I was prob 6 or 7 months pregnant. I have awful pregnancies and my doc did not want me to go. He compromised by having me do a wheel chair. He didn't want my blood pressure sky rocketing. I can say from my experience that the electric wheelchairs are lovely!!!! So nice to be able to experience Disney with our family, but also with my 3 daughters! And was so nice being able to go to the front of lines that is for sure!
Garlic aioli and butter with artichoke sounds so good. My family normally just does Mayo. I’ve also never “met” anyone else who actually eats artichoke

Colleen I’m from New Orleans. We cook the artichoke and then stuff it with this Italian type dressing/stuffing. You basically stuff the dressing inside each leaf. And then you dip each leaf in an olive oil/vinegar/parm cheese mixture. It’s so good!

in my family we make stuffed artichokes and they're my FAVORITE. you stuff the leaves with breadcrumbs & parmesan, drizzle olive oil over the top and then steam them. i recommend!

Girlie!! Getting more sleep will help your pain. I’m in the same boat and my PT stresses sleep so much. It’s helped me a ton going to sleep earlier! Midnight to 6 🤯not enough. Your body is running a marathon each day, sleep is so very important.

Erik is such a fantastic daddy and husband! I was thinking “Colleen, girl you need to have protein with your artichokes and baked potato!” Then the next clip Colleen is SO cute with her little petulant pout about Erik making her eat boiled eggs! I literally almost choked because I laughed so hard! The Ballinger/Stockland household is so wonderful to be a tiny part of! I think that Tim and Gwen had to have been some of the very best parents because all you have to do is spend some time with any of their kiddos! Chris, Colleen, Trent, and Rachel are awesome people and it undoubtedly comes in part from their mama and dad! 💙💝💙💕

lol i start decorating for fall july 25th and i take them down november 1st and put up my christmas the same day i take fall down because im a christmas girl. something about christmas just brings joy to my heart. this year i left my christmas decor up until the last day of january lol.

If you like pumpkin spiced lattes you should try a grande, iced chai tea latte with brown sugar syrup and pumpkin cream cold foam. I ask for a venti cup so you get all your cold foam😍.. It's waaaaay better!❤

in my family we make stuffed artichokes and they're my FAVORITE. you stuff the leaves with breadcrumbs & parmesan, drizzle olive oil over the top and then steam them. i recommend!

as a Bath and Body Works employee, I can assure you that Pumpkin Vanilla Creme candle is hated by most. to me it smells like cheddar jalapeño cheetos 😭 so gross

Girlie!! Getting more sleep will help your pain. I’m in the same boat and my PT stresses sleep so much. It’s helped me a ton going to sleep earlier! Midnight to 6 🤯not enough. Your body is running a marathon each day, sleep is so very important.
