Vale decem meaning farewell ten was really sad but what made it worse was normally the doctor was so scared he didn't want to change And its even more sad that he says i don't wanna go 😢
Well that isn't hard, considering that other regenerations other than 11's either had no music or the music was just meh. I really liked 11's regeneration music, but I would agree that this is better. However as a whole I think that 11 to 12's regeneration scene is more emotional and well done.
BritishSnakeHD The difference with that scene being that none of the music in that episode was written for it, it was all reused from previous episodes.
Tristyn Vingno My classmates would probably try to kill them. this is how wimpy my classmates are. if they see something moving, they only thought is "EWWWW KILL IT!!!". this is why I bring forks to school, to defend my self
The song itself is sad as it is but add the translation and it is just so depresssing but uplifting. The one thing the 10th Doctor knew and was burden by was the everbearing fact that no matter how much he tried he was always alone in his times of need. The Ood was probably the only one who ever acknowledged the fact and understood him. I believe that is what he needed.
The one line that gets me and forever will is the one where they say you are not alone. That for me makes me value the Ood in every way. But you are welcome and I hope one day I can look at this and not cry D:
Pure music. Judging by the fact that they made an actual Latin song for the tenth, it confirms that he really was a valued doctor. Definitely my favorite doctor, this music just makes his regeneration even more saddening... Well, anyways, this video was quality-filled! Thanks mdragon1801 for the epic and awesome video! Love the arrangement of Latin subtitles, and those background pics just make it so... there's no need of saying. Heh. Brilliant arrangement!
Tenths regeneration was the most sad and unfair because if you do the maths you'll see that he lived way less than his other regenerations. He lived only 6 years ,regenerated at 900 and died at 906.
I haven't watched doctor who in about a year and this brought tears to my eyes now that I'm remembering how incredible the show is and what Tennant brought to it. Especially since it's the season I grew up watching.
O.o I know.... it's sad and triumphant at the same time... and now that I know the words it's even sadder. And the part where he says "I don't wanna go"... ; . ; *stares dramatically into the distance* We will remember you, Ten..
I think windows is trying to actively piss of Whovians First they skip 9 And then they stop at 10 They say it is because they want to just keep upgrading 10 instead of releasing a new OS every few years But everyone knows that the real reason we wont be getting windows 11 is because 10 doesn't want to go Sorry...I had to...
I want this played as I am dying. Not at my funeral, but as I begin to shut my eyes to this world and everyone on it and allow this beautiful piece of music lead me to wherever it is we go when we die.
I will never forget you, David Tennant, Matt Smith, Christopher Eccleston, Billie Piper, Karen Gillan and Jenna-Louise Coleman. May your characters live in eternity.
We all change, when you think about it. We are all different people, all throughout our lives. And that's okay, that's good, so long as you remember all the people that you used to be. I will not remember one line of this, not one day, I swear. I will always remember when the Doctor was me. -11th Doctor, The Time of the Doctor
Correct quote "We all change, when you think about it, we're all different people; all through our lives, and that's okay, that's good, you've gotta keep moving, so long as you remember all the people that you used to be. I will not forget one line of this, not one day, I swear. I will always remember when The Doctor was me."
My first Doctor regeneration was 9th to 10th, and that was "Fantastic! {fssssshhh} Now where was i?" done and over. 10th's however, left me in tears. and everytime i hear this song the feels get me.
HE COULD DO SO MUCH MORE... But his song was ending, so much was in store, but as he died, as well all know, he uttered those words, "I don't want to go..."
Finally, this bit really doesn't get enough love in the comments of videos like this. I want this bit at my funeral 😂(hopefully thats a while off but still....)
I love the pic you used of David Tennant and Matt Smith at 3:31 - it reminds Dr Who fans that even though their favourite Doctor is stepping out of the show, there's always someone else waiting in the wings to take over the role, so the show will always go on.
I suggested this to my school choir and the teacher that lead the choir was a HUGE doctor who fan she had a celestial toy model sonic screwdriver on her desk and a tardis usb port, anyways when i suggested it she invited me to her staffroom and gave me a little david tennant toy and said she would love to teach the choir group vale decem Im in choir

The pictures were perfect. And the pictures of his companions when it says "you are not alone" and "trust to the last"- he'll never realize that, and it breaks my heart!
There is a line, in day of the Doctor, spoken by Tom Baker - and he says something along the lines of 'revisiting old faces' - I wonder if that means a previous Doctor will be returning at some point? It's been driving me crazy wondering what he meant. I'd love it to be Ten.
as much as it sends tingles down my spine, I still can't get over the fact that some people with little wiggly worms instead of their mouth are singing it.
This is, without question, one of the most powerful pieces of music that I think has yet graced Doctor Who. I can't tell you how much this chokes me up - particularly with the translation. A beautiful score and wonderful send off to Ten *sniffle*. Now, if you will kindly excuse me, I have to go break open a new box of tissues *sniffle* I miss my TEN!!!!! *bawls*
So, I think the time that the tenth doctor got to enjoy his “life” was about 6-7 years. Unremarkably short by comparison to any other doctor’s lifespan before regeneration. He wasn’t kidding when he said, “I could do so much more!” He barely got the chance to live his life.
I love the montage of doctors at the end. These the greatest actors of our time and before. To play the doctor, each with their own cult following. We grateful for them, them for us. The doctor an alien who often embodies what it means to be human. A fictional show that we relate to on a very real level. Every song must end, but in the great concert of life there is always another song. May it continue for hundreds of years.
The 10th doctor.. Afraid to change into his what he thought his last regeneration......... he's a blessed one. The doctor is blessed and will never fall..... A blessed soul. Farewell ten.........

this is amazing! I was wondering what the real lyrics were as my one friend showed me a video that pointed out that it sounds like "I need a chair" and such. This added an extra art to my curiosity that I wasn't expecting 😊
I guess the lyrics were what the song was supposed to mean, not what it actually said in latin (and whoever put the pictures of all the nine other Doctors was a cruel, cruel man).
werew70playsMC Those are short sentences, so it's mostly correct, but still "beati pacific" isn't vocative singular, and "singularis" means "single", but the acception tends to be " unique" (we turned it into "singolare", in italian), while the world used for " alone" would be "solus".
I still love the "vale vale vale vale" part right before the "I don't wanna go" the most, and noticing that it happens 10 times just makes it hurt more when you hear it
I think I remember from the 50th Special Episode that a Time Lord can regenerate into anyone maybe including past regenerations! So, if that was to be, I hope Tennant comes back, he has a huge fan base.
I didn't cry during this, but I still had an incredibly emotional reaction. Clutching the counter, breathing heavily, shivering. This just awakes so many feelings. Once again, Murray Gold's composition is absolutely fantastic.
Can I just say that montage was beautiful?! Man I cried!! The feels are killing me! Especially from 2:55 onward... This song! I think 10 will always be my favourite
This brings back ll of the feelings I had when I watched this episode and it never fails to get me welled up. I think its fantastic how a TV show can do this and produce the emotions over a fictional character. Absolutely Fantastic.
When Nine regenerated - beautiful peaceful music When Eleven regenerated - epic but sad music When Twelve regenerated - Nine's theme played after Thirteen appeared When Thirteen regenerated - Female choir from Thirteen's theme Ten: Epic Latin singing
The song title is literally depressing at it directly translates to Farewell Ten. It's a goodbye song to the Tenth Doctor. Whoever wrote these songs, had every intention to make Doctor Who fans cry.
Oh brilliant! this song is so sad.. I actually had no idea that this song was in Latin...therefore, it is translatable! I thought it was just "the song of the ood" and something we'd never really understand! but now I find this?? brilliant!! yay!
I don't care what anyone says. I'm incredibly excited for the 60th episodes with David Tennant and Catherine Tate. Typically I AM of the mind that Doctor Who should move forward and not back, but I trust RTD to give us something really fun and special with David ahead of Ncuti's introduction. While some of his standalone pieces were hit-or-miss for me, RTD always did the best job of showing the more raw and "human" side of Doctor Who throughout his era in my opinion, and I was a big fan of that. I hope we get to see more of that going forward.
"This song is ending, but the story, never ends" - Ood Sigma

Can I just say that montage was beautiful?! Man I cried!! The feels are killing me! Especially from 2:55 onward... This song! I think 10 will always be my favourite
thank you so much! :-)
yes - I agree & 10 will always be one of my favorites too
Because of this song, is why I think the tenth doctors regeneratation is the most beautiful and saddest in my opinion. So beautiful
My Latin teacher died last week and this always makes me think of him
And the same year this video was uploaded This was Matt smith final tenure as the doctor
This brings back ll of the feelings I had when I watched this episode and it never fails to get me welled up. I think its fantastic how a TV show can do this and produce the emotions over a fictional character. Absolutely Fantastic.
I so agree
thanks
That moment when you play the song and it ends exactly at 11:00...
When Nine regenerated - beautiful peaceful music
When Eleven regenerated - epic but sad music
When Twelve regenerated - Nine's theme played after Thirteen appeared
When Thirteen regenerated - Female choir from Thirteen's theme
Ten: Epic Latin singing
The song title is literally depressing at it directly translates to Farewell Ten. It's a goodbye song to the Tenth Doctor. Whoever wrote these songs, had every intention to make Doctor Who fans cry.
this is really good, i love the doctor montage with all of his regenerations
I couldn't sing because i was crying all the time :'(
feels
“We will sing to you, Doctor. The universe will sing you to your sleep.”
This song is ending, but the story never ends
Oh brilliant! this song is so sad.. I actually had no idea that this song was in Latin...therefore, it is translatable! I thought it was just "the song of the ood" and something we'd never really understand! but now I find this?? brilliant!! yay!
thank you so much
glad you enjoyed :-)
well thank you for uploading it! :)
P.A. Wholock very welcome :-)
Thank you for the translation and text from the latin. Most appreciated.
This song makes me cry so hard. David Tennant's Doctor was my first and I broke into immense shock when I found out that he was leaving the role.
Ten never accepted his fate, meanwhile Eleven was like "I'll never forget when the Doctor was me". This show is so deep.
Beautifully made video! I especially loved the photos spanning from Hartnell to Tennant before Smith.
Nicely done video! Thanks for the English translations. I love this theme...
Maybe 10 will return.
One day.
As a human.
***** Well he might come back just for one episode in 12's time
***** But everyone likes David Tennant
***** It would depend on the kind of shit
***** Ok I see what you mean
that would be cool
"Farewell Ten"
*day of the doctor*
"Farewell again, ten."
*14th Doctor*
"Ummmm..."
😂
Vale Decem, Salve Quattuordecim...
As someone who has an ear for music, I think it's safe to say that this is one of the best pieces I've ever heard.
Now knowing the meaning off the lyrics in English makes the scene more emotional than it already was.
Ten will always be my doctor
