Okay, for real brother, did you make this video just for me? I HAVE a Bladewing, Deathless Tyrant deck and mine isn't even that serious (meant to be lower powered) and it went 2-2 last year for 50% win rate (admittedly small sample size). Turns out it's really easy to get 3-4 creatures in the yard by the time he comes out and then you're just making a zombie army every turn. The best part is that the zombies all have menace. You basically always attack with the zombies you made last turn because you're going to make more that can block for you on other player's turns. Great mid-power level deck. Which brings me to Nevinyrral. Brother, you have to pair this guy with all the "cheat death" (e.g. Not Dead After All) options that we have and then pay the {1}. Then maybe 10 destroy type board wipes. I haven't built this deck yet, but I have the 13 or so best copies of this effect in a sleeve with Nevinyrral waiting for me to have a moment. And finally, Tormod. I like the use of Kraum as a partner, but that leaves you in Grixis colors. I can never make Grixis work personally. I am not saying others cannot, but I cannot. I was going to pair him with Kodama of the East Tree and all of the green cards that let you play lands from your graveyard and that let you play more than one land per turn. Then you get a fetch land in there and you're making zombies, brother! Add to that black reanimation, graveyard single card removal and green Regrowth effects and your zombie army will reign supreme.
Me and my friends were talking about all running different zombie commanders and I ended up running the infinite jank engine that is Daxos, the Returned. I got no regrets because he's pretty fun but boy howdy is he a weird commander my zombie deck just ended up being filled with ghosts making spanakopita and drinking ouzo but he's got a hilarious XP counter based ramp that means you can keep making progressively larger ghosts until they're actually threatening. Also just because I was up against some token flooding it ended up being an absolute gong show of a fight for boardwipes and Daxos was really putting the returned back in his name by coming back from the command zone no less than 3 times. This mans was truly the returned because the last time I cast him he was a 9 mana 2/2. Fun regardless though especially if you have a pile of old constellation or general enchantments like anthems.
The most important color in Zombies is black. Everything else is optional. It's easy to do Mono B zombies even, but you have options in most colors. I never would've thought red, but there's definitely a case for it here. Love my zombies! You are my tribal... I mean kindred bro. Lol. Kindred is for peace lovers, but zombies are not, they're tribal. But I'm definitely a kindred spirit. Expect I'm a human. At least I think
@dave_8600 The problem is there's really not a lot of good red zombies or zombie tech. If you're not going Grixis, you miss out on a lot of stuff. I also like some of the White zombie tech (Orzhov) and that's why I went with Esper
My budget zombie deck is themed around milling myself and then resurrecting and stitching my graveyard zombies back together using Gisa and Geralf as the commander (Dimir). Stitcher’s Supplier, Obsessive Stitcher, Stitched Drake, Stitcher Geralf, and various gravediggers and skaabs do the dirty work. Super fun dude

💧💀 self-mill + zombies Ghost of Ramirez DePietro//Tormod (the Desecrator) I just swapped in Arcane Adaptation and Conspiracy, because there's about 17 or so creature cards in the deck which happen to be non-zombie. I also managed to find a Death Baron for more aggressive synergy. ☀️💧🔥 keyword soup (mostly flying) Akroma (Vision of Ixidor)//Kraum (Ludevic's Opus) Kraum's the only zombie in the whole deck, so he's basically in to add his 💧🔥 to partner up with Akroma's ☀️, and for the haste, flying, and card draw. 💧🔥💀 wheels Nekusar (the Mindrazer) Well, at least Bone Miser and Waste Not make zombie tokens. My first EDH deck, circa 2014.
Nicky G I remember in one of your videos you mentioned that you had a Varina deck. Do you have a video on it? I also have a Varina deck and it's one of my favorite decks so I would love to see what you came up with. There are so many good cards that can go in that deck that it's hard to cut it down to 99.

Red lets you yeet corpses, which makes it the best second color

He’s not a zombie but gix is a great zombie commander, IME. He turns bodies into draw and black can turn draw into bodies.
