One thing you might have missed is that the clock says Victoria Station. This is the former name of CST. The place where a lot of innocent people were gunned down by those cowards.
Also notice that @15:04 Varun's wife removes her dhupatta(scarf). Something that Naseeruddin Shah's charater wanted them to do.

Please react to a movie 'Sparsh' which has Naseeruddin and Shabana Azmi, wherein Naseeruddin plays a blind man. Manoj said in an interview that Al Pacino watched Sparsh while preparing for his role in Scent of a Woman. Beautiful acting by Naseeruddin

    • @vaibhavchandra8158

Stellar performance by both of them in Sparsh. Also 'Paar' starting naseer saab and shabana ji. 'Aakrosh' starring Om Puri saab... 'Mandi' with Smita Patil Ji, Shabana Ji etc.. Also movies like 'Bhuvan Shome'
Well they are yet to explore the entire parallel cinema movement in Indian Film Industry. Some of the most incredible works been done at that time which didnt have an audience at that time.
Also Amitabh Bacchan Sir is a great actor but he was doing strictly commercial and at times average cinema. Bacchan sir's potential as an actor has been explored better by directors in later years. Naseer saab and the rest did some of the finest films back then without much budget coz they were important films. And infact it is the work that they did with the likes of shyam benegal, adoor gopalakrishnan, mrinal sen etc that paved way for incredible artists today. 🙂🙂

If you want to watch more of Naseeruddin Shah's acting, please watch Bandish Bandits. You'll learn so much about classical music and its nuances. And Shankar Ehsaan Loy's music makes the experience even more beautiful. The entire cast has done a phenomenal job. Also, Naseeruddin Shah is a trained theatre actor who struggled a lot to become a part of mainstream cinema in his time as he didn't fit the bill of a 'good-looking' actor. He and his wife, Ratna Pathak, have a theatre company/group called Motley which is over 40 years old now.

I think Naseeruddin Shah and Mrs. Jaya Bachchan were amongst the first ‘trained’ actors. Naseeruddin was from Delhi School of drama and Jaya was from the Film & Television Institute.

Dilip Kumar is the ultimate thespian of Hindi film industry. He, along with other actors like Motilal, Balraj Sahani and Sanjeev Kumar ushered the craft of natural acting. Amitabh Bachhan only took it forward.

See big b is big b of commercial cinema.
Naseer is big b of parallel cinema that is there once was two streams in bollywood. Commercial and parallel. Parallel meaning more concerning art rather than commerce.

Amitabh was a mainstream hero naseeruddin shah was doing parallel cinema more artsy cinema and theater too.....where bid b was doing all the angry Young Man roles,,,, naseeruddin was doing revolution in acting.

Next up watch "interior café night" starring Naseeruddin Shah. I promise, you won't be disappointed. After having done that, watch "Mehruni". It is quite old compared to these, but it is extremely beautiful

Manoj Bajpayee once said in an interview that he is inspired by Naseeruddin Shah and Om Puri, and he looks uo to both of them. He said that for him, they are greatest of all time. No Comparison to Robert De Niro or Al Pacino because the way they did movies and theatres back then while dealing with poverty and starvation and getting a very low amount of money for their work and still did those amazing and mind-blowing performances. That's why for Manoj, they are greatest of all time and not even Robert De Niro or Al Pacino can do what they did back then.
