This guy from MotionVFX tutorial is what I love the most. I’ve learn a lot from him and I must give him the credit for how much he put in these tutorials. That said, m3D tracker and mo2 are a must according to this video. There’s so much potential I can see from mo2 when used with m3D tracker. Thanks
I missed your name, but I've seen a number of your tutorials. They are really excellent (at least for where I am with all of this stuff). Very applicable, real world information with great depth but not laboring too much on the time. Please, please more of these and often and regularly! Thank you.
Totally. Completely missed the fact that it was a fake complete building. Sadly at the end now that we are looking for it it feels a bit fake-er, but don’t get me wrong, half an hour more on the lighting and it can be nailed. Jaw dropping integration tools what these guys are doing.
This is lit and really looks so realistic. This is the best mtracker 3d tutorial among other tuts you guys have posted before. I think mo2 is a must-have plugin to get the full advantage or power of mTracker 3D. I already have mo2 Plugin and Now waiting for mTracker 3D :)
Ok, mindblown, again. Had a question, does it help or does it make any difference (good or bad) if the lens distortion of the original footage is fixed? The right buildings look curved so that’s probably the first thing I would have searched how to do whether it’s going to be tracked or not.
You can also key frame the the light intensity in mo2, using the same light go through and increase and decrease the intensity of the selected light to add flicker effects
great tutorial! Clear & to the point! :) Two questions: 1. Can you do all this in FCPX with mO2, or do you HAVE to do this in Motion? 2. What this mtracker offers more, that you CANNOT already do with mO2, is that you can match the camera motion with that one in your background 2D video? So without mtracker, if we were to add a 3D object above our 2D video footage media clip in FCPX, the 3D object will always look unrealistic because it would be impossible to match the camera animation for the 3D object, to the camera animation of the original footage? Thanks!!
Hi, 1. mTracker 3D works with mO2 but it is not inside. They are 2 distinct applications. You can import mTracker 3D inside mO2. 2. You're right, mTracker 3D extract the 3D camera from of video so the 3D object you will add will have the same camera motion, so it will match with the video background. Otherwise you will have to do it manually adding keyframes for all the frame of your shot and it is mostly impossible to have a prefect result for all the shot.
@@erwanlecloirec thanks for your reply, However question #1 asked if you can do all this (that is shown in this youtube video) in FCPX with mO2, or do you HAVE to do this in Motion (again in mO2)? As for #2, I thought so. It's not that it's impossible to do the same thing manually, it would just take a very long time to get it to look so realistic so fast. Thanks!
@@nounix Yes, you can do it in FCPX with mO2 as all the 3D objects were composited inside mO2. For the final grading just create a compound clip and apply your color correction on it.
@@erwanlecloirec ah ok - so it doesn't matter whether you use mO2 in Motion or in FCPX - the same things can be done in whichever app! Good! Thanks for the confirmation! :)
Phantxm Productions I’m saying the workflow is the same mostly. Mo2 is the same in both motion and FCPX as well as mTracker3d workflow. MTracker3d is amazing and yes makes the difference in this video. I’m just saying mo2 is equally incredible in the video I guess :)
This is an excellent tutorial, but the billboard graphics... sorry, but they go wildly out of focus with the rest of the scene about midway. No-one else seems to have mentioned this - am I crazy?
I can't seem to figure out the issue. After tracking and placing a point, I see the point is locked onto the spot. If I add a mTracker 3D object, it's locked on. But if I add a 3D object in mO2, I can't seem to get it to stay locked onto the tracking spot. I've reset my parameters and changed around the anchor point, but I still can't figure out the issue. Any tips?
@@motionvfx Thanks for your reply. Yes, I've zeroed out my x, y, and z positions for the 3D object, but it still floats above the point. UPDATE: I discovered the issue and wanted to let others know if they are having the same issue. When importing my video into Motion 5, it was automatically increasing the scale of the frame in the canvass (almost 50%). When I tracked, the points were locked on. But when adding a 3D object, through mO2, it wouldn't keep in the same location. I suspect this is because of the camera. But if I import it, and reduce the scale so the entire frame is in the canvass before tracking, it works fine. (Also, if anyone knows how to change the settings to import full scale, I'd be happy to know.)

At first I was like: cool, they added a realistic billboard sign on top that building.
Then I was like: WAIT, THEY ADDED THE ENTIRE BUILDING??!!🤯🤯🖤🖤
Same here

@@alejmc Yes true but this is just a tutorial. We need our own creativity or skills to make the best use of this plugin.
This has been the best tutorial. Elegantly explained and the final imagery is amazing. Apple take note.

Do you feel like fcp and also motion gets really slow when using mo2 ? especially with bigger polygon count models
I need a full time course on just learning all this stuff. I will be ok if having that. This was good.
Excellent tutorial, this was what I was looking for. Would like to see more tutorials this detailed using the moving robot models from the trailer.
And then, a light rain. Superb. Thank you.
Ha! Now I have to go buy mFilmLook! Can’t wait for mTracker to be released.
Amazing.
This is one great tutorial! Now the painful wait till mtracker 3d is finally released 😄

Love it
Excellent tutorial. Question, how to get the 3d models for example that building?
Sketchfab or Turbosquid3D.
Can we do this without motion 5 and with FCPX instead?
Tutorial 🔥🔥
is this going to come to AE or PPRO

Can i animate the light using behaviors,
for example, create the effect of a burnt out lamp?
Yes, you can apply Motion's behaviors to the intensity of the light for exemple.
You can also key frame the the light intensity in mo2, using the same light go through and increase and decrease the intensity of the selected light to add flicker effects

Is there a way to do this with mO2 , mTracker, and FCPX instead of motion 5
Yes, it’s basically the same since a majority of the wow factor here is mo2. You still paste the info into mo2 in FCPX :)

Is this a plugin to adobe or is this a i should leave adobe sub monthly payments to this whole system and only make 1 payment and buy this software?
You are free to leave Adobe now :)
When is the release date
After the release of macOS Big Sur.
PLEASE make mO3, I need it desperatly for my M1 Macbook Pro 😭, mtracker + mO2 was such a great combination
Working on it! 😮💨
Can‘t wait to get it my hands 😍, wish you best of luck guys 😃💪😘😘
