Tiff, you did an awesome job with the miter saw station! I've been woodworking for 50 years now, and I like supporting female woodworkers fairly new to the DIY/ woodworking field. Especially someone from the Hispanic culture. You need to represent the gals out there who are interested but still do not dare to move forward. You are a natural in front of the camera, and I love that you do not edit out the mistakes. After all, that is how we learn and grow, and it makes you more relatable to your audience. Don't change that. Your shop is coming along nicely too. None of us start out with all brand new, fully outfitted shops unless we win the Lotto or already have a lot of money. It's taken me years, but my favorite tools are still my older ones. Many I have restored myself. They just were made so much better 70 years ago. Cast iron, steel, no plastics, and breakable parts, so you have to purchase new ones again. I love going to auctions, tag sales, garage, and estate sales to find tools. So very few of my hand tools "match", lol. And those whose shops are full of matching, dust-free tools don't actually use them. They just like them to look nice and are trying to impress others. It doesn't matter if it costs $8.00 or $80; as long as it is sturdy and works, that is all that matters. I would recommend at some point switching to French cleats instead of the peg board. Which is notorious for pegs falling out when you try to take something off of them. You also can't customize holders for the tools like you can when using FC's. As shop owners, we are constantly moving things around to find space for a new tool or machine, and FC's make it much easier to do so. Grouping like items is a great idea. Try keeping things you don't want dust in or on like paint brushes, in containers with a lid or enclosed in a cabinet. Clear plastic shoe boxes with a lid are great for that. Big box stores run sales all of the time of multipacks of them cheaply. Easily identifiable plus easy to organize on a shelf. You can make your own labels too to put on the ends of each box. They are great for rags, painters tape, odds and ends, or extras, like your gloves, etc. You earned my subscription today, and I look forward to your other videos.
As much as I like your projects the reason I watch and subscribed is because you are such a great presenter!! Really natural and humorous, obviously learning as you go and sharing your mistakes (while laughing at yourself) as much as your successes - brilliant
Cool shop. Good call to put the paint brushes down the end, a little further away from your mitre saw. You might even want to move the stapler, so it doesn't get caked up with dust. Be safe, have a great day.
I might be overly prickly, but I have had people ask me how I learned to build and paint and tile and a part of me wonders if they would ask that if I was male 😶. I love your channel Tiffany! Hope you guys are safe from the storm.
Same thing happens to me. Also, it might be regional, but whenever I got to Home Depot, they are so condescending. They treat me with respect at Lowes and I never get that "Well, hello little lady" attitude.
I know a few men that don't know which end of a hammer to hold. Slight exaggeration, but you get my drift. Gender has nothing to do with common sense and skill. Experience comes with giving it a go. In a safe manner of course.
Tip from a long-ago "sign guy" - when weeding your vinyl, it'll generally go better if you are pulling the waste away from right to left instead of left to right. More letters in our alphabet have partial counters (enclosed/partially enclosed areas) that face right (like "c" and "e") than ones that face left - so those lift out better with less chance of lifting your letter if you go R-to-L so you're going INTO the opening instead of away from it. (And usually at a slight upward or downward angle to get the areas enclosed by letters like W M or V.)
Tiff and Toni, I hope you and your fur babies are safe during Hurricane Helene. You are such bright lights in this world. I look forward to your future videos.
That board was trying to tell you that you needed the piece in back. 👻 I am impressed with how wonderfully it turned out, but I always am. Hugs to Misty for me. ❤
Great job, with setting up the Mitre saw, I wish mine looked that great. Setting up a dust collection system is the one time you hope after all that work the job sucks.
Looks great Tiff. I can’t believe you got the shelf level! That 2x4 was so bent! I hope using your saw is easier now that it has a permanent home. Your worship looks great!
Oh, is definitely a breeze to go in and cut a piece of wood without having to move tools around :) thank you! 🥰 I was surprised that I got the 2x4 leveled too I thought I had a 50-50 chance having to rebuild the whole thing lol
Also, forgot to mention this in my previous comment, but the Cricut labels are super cute. So glad you're getting sponsored. Well deserved and a great way to highlight their product.
The vacuum switch outlet - So THAT's how they do it! I thought it was some fancy setup that the pros use. I didn't know it was as simple as buying an outlet thing-a-ma-jig. Nice organization! Great video!
Having been where you are in my early years, I understand the problems with finding places for all the different tools you accumulate over the years. I admire your determination to make your workshop a more workable space. As you grow as a woodworker, be prepared to change your mind, accommodate new tools and experiment with new ideas. Keep up the great work. Enjoy the learning process and watch more experienced woodworkers on TH-cam and you will be as addicted to woodworking as the rest of us crazy amateur chippies as I am😅. Best wishes from Australia.
Nice to see active problem-solving with common issues like twisted or deformed wood. I like your honesty about getting organized and ultimately removing your own excuses for not finding tools quickly. I have many of the same bad habits with other things. Nothing to it, but to do it. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Welcome back! Great seeing you again. I hope you're well recovered. Your toolshed is looking so good! The vacuum rigged with the switch is pretty ingenious. I have a tiny little home office/project room. Im looking forward to getting my shed situation going. Please keep these videos coming!
So happy for you my smile that lasted the hole video now hurts... but for a good reason 😊 been enjoying watching you for awhile now and ready for more 🎉
Love your tenacity and the way you just persevere with the project it’s a great trait to have. Even though it’s cattywampus you still crack on and try to make it work. Now that’s a great work ethic
I feel you. I’m in the same place. Tools in the house in the workshop I just build….trying to organize at the same time my wife keeps asking me to make things…running extension cords because electricians are like family doctors you can’t get them all the time. It’s insane. Nice video ❤❤
Girl! I am so happy for you! I can never find any of my stuff either! It’s all over everywhere! Great job organizing, labeling, & building what you needed to make your space work for you! I organized my pantry this past weekend & I was all proud of myself…now I need to get to work on my DIY organizing! I love Toni’s Nike’s! 🤣🦋
I am new to your channel, really enjoyed watching your videos. You two girls have so much fun together. Keep up the great work. Enjoy watching you and your dad work together. Joyce
New to the channel, but loving the videos! It's inspiring to see all the projects you work on and including the oops moments (great job Toni). Plus you gave me an epiphany on one of my projects with using the temporary shelving to hang cabinets and miter station. In my case holding a backing in the right place while securing it. Great work!
Looks great! I’ve done peg board a few times (still using it), but I don’t really like it too much. Mine isn’t as organized as yours. For me the problem is that half the time the metal hangar pieces come off when I take the tool off. I think I’d recommend using it for a while and make sure it meets your needs. Once you think you’re happy with it, you might consider putting a drop or two of hot glue around the holes where your hangars are so that they won’t pop off so easily. I found that the hot glue can be peeled off if you’re careful if you decide to change the layout later.
So jealous. I'd kill for a dedicated miter saw station. I'd suggest routing through the countertop to add aluminum t-tracks so you can use stop blocks. Also, when you get some more $ in the bank, swap out the shop vac for a real dust extractor so it can get all the fine dust particles. You don't want to wind up with carpenter lung down the road. Your channel is growing so fast and so quickly! Amazing!
I just found your channel and I’m kind of bummed that I didn’t know about it from the beginning but kind of happy because now I can binge watch😁It doesn’t get any better than videos with animals and home renovations😍
Your space looks great! Your editing skills are fantastic too! I really really enjoyed this video. And as a girl dad myself, I absolutely LOVE seeing you out in the shop building stuff. Keep up the great work! 😊
Yeah - finally organized! It looks good and will be so much easier for working on projects. Nice to have all "like" stuff together. Just a thought - you mentioned a smaller storage trailer, could you use that to organize all your wood and scraps? Would also like to see you organize the tool cupboard/closet you have in the house. Now that your workshop is under control you'd be able to have a better inventory of your tools.
Such a great video & we have the same brain! I can tell you a tip that worked for me I have a notebook to write down ideas. For each project I think like I had to as a preschool teacher 1. Draw what I am making. 2. List everything I need to make it. 3. Have a dedicated space where I need to work 4. Gathering everything 5. Create 6. Return everything & clean up. Now this is in a perfect world but it’s the goal I always shoot to make. Love the channel! 2. List wh
I LOVE my Cricut! I have a super old one, but it still works great...I recommend them to anyone that loves doing crafts at home. 😁 You might want to try permanent vinyl and larger/wider letters in the future...I've found that the removable comes off super easy if you rub against it accidentally. Also, anything under about 1/8" wide in the adhesive vinyl doesn't adhere super well either, even with permanent viny. You could pretty easily remove permanent from that surface because it's very smooth.
I love all your videos, your projects, your attitude, your sense of humor and the fact you always pick up chocolate at the home improvement store. But, my most pressing question is, What do you use on your hair to keep it so silky looking ??? Also, the fact you used the best construction term "squiggled", I believe, was awesome.
Pipe clamps work. And another thing you can do is get some load straps. They work really well. Remember to go to hardware or lumberyard to get them. They have smaller ones.
Store your tape in cheap plastic tubs that way they don't get covered in dust, which ruins the edge from sticking. Green frog tape is the best for sealing around wood. After placing your tape, take a damp rag and press the tape down. This trick helps release the glue around the edge and prevent the paint from bleeding under the tape.
When I am asked how I learned this stuff. I tell people I wnat to learn it and not worry about screwing up. Now we have TH-cam for videos and the internet to find this infomration. Before then books you could buy or even take out from the local library were very common. I inhereted many of these books. There are so many simple things anyone can do and that is where to start.
Discovered your channel last week and Im hooked. Love the projects, and your thinking process on how you approach things. I also love the Wonderful cast of characters on your channel.
maybe you can put all wood scraps in the little trailer and the rest of the tools from the trailer in your little she shed that is so cute by the way. My moma house here in NYC she doesnt have a garage so all my tools are inside the house :/ i have two 36 x 96 closest just for my tools plus a few out and about but is a pain for a small little place in my apt. but always happy to build before winter & once spring hits in woodworking.
This does look much better, it doesn't matter that everything doesn't match but what I learned was to go ahead and spend the extra to get quality the first time, you will save in the long run.
If you use a belt around your square, you only need small clamps with squares in the corners to maintain everything square and coplanar. When you're putting glue, be sure to "flatten it" on the surface you're gluing, whether you add wood dust or not. Wood dust will help filling (tiny) gaps between your surfaces, you can simply sandwich it between 2 layers of (flattened) glue and use clamps to force it in place (sprinkle the dust on the glue and blow gently to remove the excess),
The other day one of my friends shared that she treated herself to a mani and pedi. She hadn't done that in years and didn't realize how expensive it was. I told her these days I treat myself to new tools for DIY. They can be pricey but at least they last years. My tools match (dewalt) because I don't want to keep buying batteries! Miss the days when everything came with the tools.
Ive also had people ask me where I learned everything. MY DAD! Thinking about starting up my own TH-cam channel as well. If you see anything for Just Like Dad by Design then thats me!! :-) Not thrilled about being on camera and have to learn to edit videos as Im sure it will take time. I crack up when I watch your channel! I do the same thing with my tools! Went as far as one day looking for my face mask and safety glasses for about 15 mins. OMG they were on my head and already around my neck just turned the other way around. I swear I was SO Mad! lol I must have been super concentrating on what I was looking for to not notice I ALREADY HAS THEM! lol. Look forward to the next video! Jealous of the mitre saws home :-)
for the wood, didja think about maybe buying a second shed? I know it's not cheap, but I'm sure it would help a ton, and you could also store other big tools on counters like you just did with the saw 👍 Maybe also add one of those open tent things so you have a sort of roof outside for when it rains.

Tiff and Toni, I hope you and your fur babies are safe during Hurricane Helene. You are such bright lights in this world. I look forward to your future videos.
Thank you! We’re safe, we lost power and a tree is blocking the driveway but the important thing is that we’re safe :)
Shop looks great!!! Make a wood storage rack on that back wall❤
Oh man, the "doom boxes" at the beginning of the vid are so relatable haha. My entire outdoor shed with my tools is one giant doombox.

I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved dog ❤
I'm sooo sorry for your loss :(
Great job kid !!! just found you guys ,very entertaining. !!!

The vacuum switch outlet - So THAT's how they do it! I thought it was some fancy setup that the pros use. I didn't know it was as simple as buying an outlet thing-a-ma-jig. Nice organization! Great video!
Maybe you could get some latex/rubber dip paint stuff to put on the handle parts of the tools to make them all the same color!
So impressed. Watching you feels like I’ve met my twin. 🥰
Your shop is really coming together. You are going to love working in there.
Tiff is a simple & humble human being I love this channel and the real DIY with own mistakes
That was hilarious that Toni was pretending to be a walrus 😂😂

Your workshop is looking better and better! I wish I could find my tools at a glance!! There are few things more satisfying than a tidy tool wall❤
Tiff, your workshop is coming together so nicely!!! I love the miter saw station. Really turned out nice.
Hahaha, saws-all. I love this channel. so glad I found it (aka: youtube recommended it to me)
Looking good. Iam glad that Tiffany & Toni show is back. I missed you guys 👍👍🔨
Now that's organized!! 💯 excellent.
Nicely done organising everything including the mitre saw. Now the hard part is keeping it as tidy as it was when you did it.

Oh my gosh, that is amazing! Congratulations! I have a shed, but it's just so small...I can't wait to have enough space to actually make a workshop!
Thanks! I hope it at least works for storage :) I had to set up shop outside for a while before my shop was ready :)
The elbow on the miter saw is smart.
Good to see you recovered and back!
HEYYYYYYYY I LOVE WHEN YOU MAKE VID3OS BECAUSE THEY MOTIVATE ME TO DO PROJECTS TYYYY❤❤❤❤
This made my day! I loved your humor. I do things in a similar fashion, so I can relate. Your workshop is turning out great.
Yes it makes great wood putty and more cost affected. I have several Mason jars of different saw dust. Lable the jars of the wood type
Your space looks great! Your editing skills are fantastic too! I really really enjoyed this video. And as a girl dad myself, I absolutely LOVE seeing you out in the shop building stuff. Keep up the great work! 😊

Such a great video & we have the same brain! I can tell you a tip that worked for me
I have a notebook to write down ideas. For each project I think like I had to as a preschool teacher
1. Draw what I am making.
2. List everything I need to make it.
3. Have a dedicated space where I need to work
4. Gathering everything
5. Create
6. Return everything & clean up.
Now this is in a perfect world but it’s the goal I always shoot to make.
Love the channel!
2. List wh
You are so cute and so much fun to watch. I love it when Toni (sp?) "helps". Looking good!
The super thin pieces were definitely a challenge. Thanks for the tips :)
I love this for you! Well executed!
Love the organization
Awesome stuff.. I love the low tempo and casual style. I wish you success with growing your channel.
Great job with the Mitre saw
I'm really impressed with all that you do.
Pipe clamps work. And another thing you can do is get some load straps. They work really well. Remember to go to hardware or lumberyard to get them. They have smaller ones.
Glad to see you're doing better sweet lady. 👍❤️💓
Thanks so much
Your shop is great! Thanks for the great ideas!!
Good idea thank you for that tip!
10/10 what a game changer and yep, ready for the next project :)
Very nice job setting up the shelf for your Mitre Saw it looks great.

Great job setting up your shop🙌👍🤗
Good Video! From one small shop to another. Oh and nothing is ever just simple.. 😁😁
So glad you're back and well. Xx
Glad to be back! Thanks!
It looks great, gf! 🎉
Discovered your channel last week and Im hooked. Love the projects, and your thinking process on how you approach things. I also love the Wonderful cast of characters on your channel.
Thank you :)
2x4’s make me crazy!
I do the same thing with wood glue and saw dust....it really works out great.
OMG, you are me! (Just younger.) So glad I found your channel!
maybe you can put all wood scraps in the little trailer and the rest of the tools from the trailer in your little she shed that is so cute by the way. My moma house here in NYC she doesnt have a garage so all my tools are inside the house :/ i have two 36 x 96 closest just for my tools plus a few out and about but is a pain for a small little place in my apt. but always happy to build before winter & once spring hits in woodworking.
I can’t tell you how much I love your videos!!! Keep it up!
Excellent work! It looks so good
This does look much better, it doesn't matter that everything doesn't match but what I learned was to go ahead and spend the extra to get quality the first time, you will save in the long run.
Good job! Say hi to Misty, seems like a really good girl 💜
If you use a belt around your square, you only need small clamps with squares in the corners to maintain everything square and coplanar.
When you're putting glue, be sure to "flatten it" on the surface you're gluing, whether you add wood dust or not. Wood dust will help filling (tiny) gaps between your surfaces, you can simply sandwich it between 2 layers of (flattened) glue and use clamps to force it in place (sprinkle the dust on the glue and blow gently to remove the excess),
That was a fantastic job keep the videos coming
The other day one of my friends shared that she treated herself to a mani and pedi. She hadn't done that in years and didn't realize how expensive it was. I told her these days I treat myself to new tools for DIY. They can be pricey but at least they last years. My tools match (dewalt) because I don't want to keep buying batteries! Miss the days when everything came with the tools.
Well done Tiff 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
😂😂😂 I’ve done the same thing!!
😂😂😂😂😂😂
for the wood, didja think about maybe buying a second shed? I know it's not cheap, but I'm sure it would help a ton, and you could also store other big tools on counters like you just did with the saw 👍 Maybe also add one of those open tent things so you have a sort of roof outside for when it rains.
