- I got scammed. I know it's hard to pay the retail price for baccarat rouge 540 sometimes, many people want the perfume but not many want to spend a lot of money on a fragrance, but don't get scammed.
Trying to save money on some "luxury items" cost you more in the long run sometimes.
Here I have my real Baccarat rouge 540 vs. a fake one , just so you can see the differences.

You’re so right ! How could I have forgotten ! It smelt almost identical EXCEPT of course it didn’t last at all ! I couldn’t smell it after like 10mins ! And you know baccarat is known for lasting ! - it did have a little chemical smell to it tho - like some undertone /- but the opening is almost identical

One thing I notice is that I couldn’t really smell the fragrance when I sprayed it from the bottle. I’ve tried samples and the smell was stronger.
I got scammed! I waited almost 2 months for my perfume and it was a fake! Never again will I buy a high end perfume on eBay coming from Russia!

I'm originally from Russia and agree. There are tons of fakes going around there and niche perfumes as well. Other post Soviet countries are also flooded with fakes.

Also another difference is the silhouette of the glass on the inside. The part that actually touches the juice if that makes sense. On the real one it curves in towards the center and then back out again where as the fake one just comes down straight slightly in towards the bottom.

@@NavadineAntoinetteI bought a real one from the Maison we website an it smells nothin like my 2020 batch . It’s more watery color and not as thick as my older batch and doesn’t smell as cotton candy . I think it’s been reformulated after 2020.

I bought the original made in 2021, the symbols on the bottom have changed a little and there was no book.

Hello. I heard that the batch code gives the year the perfume was created with the first two numbers (ie: 18002 was born in 2018). Is that true? If so, it seems that would be a great way to check if a perfume is fake, too. I bought one with a batch code of 28442 and I think, if what I said is true, this would be a fake perfume because the year 2028 hasn’t rolled around yet . . .
Some fake sellers nustify their products as "rejects" for whatever irregulariity that might have occured in preparing the cologne or perfume, they claim it could be in the packaging, the juice or whatever ...so im always confused when it comes to this, similar to clothing brands some "fakes" are taken from the factories for a crooked stitch or whatever

I noticed in this vid the lines above the chandelier were different, messy on the fake but clean on the real.
So this helped me a lot. I bought a bottle through a reputable retailer online The Range who have a Home range which is distributed from retailers they apporove and it was fake. The J the B on the side and the colour of the box were clearly noticeable against the ones bought from selfridges etc. To top it off they are adding QR codes thar scan to nothing but a Text of numbers so beware. They have gotten better with the line spacing on the side etc though so they are trying and they are now only adding one red dot on the side too so don't be fooled people 😉
The barcode on the bottom of the real one is key. Thanks for this video. This is why I wouldn’t order online. Go to Neiman Marcus or Sacks.

But you can't always tell real from fake just by the box. The MFK boxes change and are not always the same for each released prints. Also, now the newer perfumes have a QR code but it only started recently so if you have an older perfume, it won't show a QR code. It's mainly in the smell you can tell the difference, and the Chinese fakes smell awful.

@NavadineAntoinette i got a bottle off ebay supposedly refurbished or something but idk i bought a sample of BR540 and fell inlove with it so here i am i buy the real bottle and it smells nothing like the sample got me scared i got robbed idk seems like i got a real one from your video but it just smells different did you notice a smell difference? btw dossier makes a dupe of BR540 it smells better then the real stuff kinda crazy

Anyone looking to try it out before committing all that money...I bought the Dossier one, Amber Saffron. Baccarat Rouge 540 is soooo expensive. So, I wanted to try out the Dossier one to see if it's for me. It's lovely, but doesn't last. But, hey for $35...you get what you pay for.
I just registered an account with Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and the Maison Francis Kurkdjian website itself. I ended purchasing bottles from Saks and the Maison. It's just easier to spend the extra money and not worry about fakes or being scammed. You don't know what people are mixing or putting in bottles. Atleast if my skin falls of...Neiman, Saks and Maison has lawsuit revenue.

Oh no😳 I’ve gotten scammed before too it absolutely sucks!!!🥺 It was on a coco Mademoiselle and I paid $100 on eBay😭So then I had to go to Sephora and buy another REAL one. I reported them and then they removed themselves from EBay , so I didn’t get my money back. I don’t buy fragrances from eBay now.😥
I sell authentic fragrances on EBay and being a seller, people often try to scam me.. I sincerely hate your experience but not all
Of us are bad.. There are some fragrances that I wouldn’t try to skim on and I’ll just pay the price without hesitation and this is one of them.. Kilian fragrances, and Mancera Fragrances as well..

FYI ..where I live in the Arabian Gulf there are hundreds of perfumers/houses, they have been in the business for the past hundred odd years, and these houses are masters beyond any shade of a doubt. When MFK BR540 was introduced the majority of us knew that this fragrance is not new to our noses..we had so many similar blends/oils...etc of this composition...and these are not expensive they are priced around 30 to 80 US$... it goes without saying how gorgeous the bottles and the packagings are (I am a collector)...it is not a bad thing to compare things, in my experience I found the local blends surpassed and they ticked all the boxes.
That’s exactly what I was thinking about since I got the MKF 540,I smelled it before it’s not new to me ,I’m Arab too by the way .
I Live in the US ,but as I heard and as u said there are a lot of dupes the are way better,but people here in the US don’t know about cuz they don’t have access to all of them.
