Going back a number of years ago, we were cleaning out the shed, put cattle out in crush pen, 3 went down broke legs had to put down. Was a shock a total waste of great heifers we were rearing for suckling stock. Shit happens. Chin up.
i would recommend putting anti-seize on the threads if you don't want to use grease it works great and stops threads from locking up without collecting the dust and dirt. calf i'm sure will be fine, thats the limmy in her making her crazy. just put in pen with a smaller calf.

Doubt it will happen again to you, you’d have to be seriously unlucky. My dad lost his best bullock as it somehow trapped it’s leg between a post and a wall when it was inside. Sh1t happens…

You need a seed sock to empty the drill onto. Spalding stock them.
Rarely doing it
Heifer will be fine with time. Best option to put her in a small area so she won't move around as much. Rest and time will cure it.
Poor bugger just have to hope for the best. Is it normally that skittish or was it just spooked?
Spooked, but this batch been away from mothers a while so may have picked up a touch of worms. Worming soon
