    For the shower/steam method, I found that condensation would accumulate underneath the screen protector and so the install would fail. Now if you wait long enough, the condensation will go away. But as you're waiting, you can't use the bathroom because using a facial tissue or toilet paper (my hand towels were terrible for dust) will re-introduce dust back in the air and you have to go through the entire process. It can be done but I found just being diligent in the immediate install area being more effective.

      well, I just did my installation of my screen protector in the bathroom after I ran shower for a few. Its perfect. I have to cause I live in a studio apartment and I have a furry cat .no other way to keep cat out lol. Been doing the shower thing for about 3 phones now but he is right about condensation, so u wait a few minutes, go to bathroom first before u start shower. He is also right about washing hands , cleaning area, go through a practice of what to do and I do have a air purifier, who knows if it reaches bathroom lol. I also change my clothes cause kitty is all over.

    One tip I recently discovered which finally kept me from getting dust under the screen protector. If you have a good tactical flashlight, once you THINK you've gotten all the dust off, shine it at an angle onto the screen right before you install the protector. I promise you'll see 1-2 dust specks that you didn't see before. I only wish I had tried it earlier and saved some headaches!

    I've done more than 200 screen protector installs for family and friends and myself. This is the way-extremely solid advice. I do the same steps on dust prevention and I also wear nitrile gloves because skin can flake off and behave just like dust does.

    The easiest screen protector I ever used with no bubbles was IQ Shield brand. You apply a detergent spray to the sticky side of the film and then you put it on the screen. The liquid lets you slide the protector to be perfectly aligned with the phone cutouts. Then once the protector is where you want it, you squeegee out the liquid from the middle, like how they install window tint. It’s cloudy at first but the screen clears up after a few hours and there are zero bubbles and no dust specks. 😊

    My attempt with screen protectors of any consequence was my wife's Galaxy s7 FE 12.4" screen. My first attempt was great except for 2 dust eyes at the bottom or last part of the screen lay down. By the time I quit there was 7. I have a new protector on the way and am planning on using the public library at a table as far from an A/C air register as I can get. As I live in the desert and everything has a perpetual fine layer of pink dust from the red rocks and soil, I thought that was my best option. With your information I am sure I will succeed. Thanks VERY MUCH. I will be checking your channel regularly for generic phone & tablet info and would subscribe but you are iphone specific. It is hard for me to even write that manufacturers name without throwing or breaking something or both. Your video is the only video that spoke English that was pleasant, understandable, explained completely and to my knowledge provided a complete training on those pesky little screen protectors.

    You just saved me from throwing away a second screen protector. I bought a 2 pack and threw the first one away because there was so much dust under it. Using the dust sticker to remove remaining dust once you install the screen protector worked great! I lifted the screen protector up a little too far on the corner so it will now most likely stay up. I can live with that more than dust on the screen. Thanks a bunch

  • @PrincernPrince
    @PrincernPrince ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'll tell you what I did in your section where you say after 2 or 3 times dust gets everywhere. I just took the whole protector off (did this on an iPad so a phone should be even easier), flipped it to the adhesive side up, applied masking tape over the whole protector in strips, pressed and then prepared the device for install, peeled the masking tape off all at once and used the method of placing it and dropping directly onto the device (as you did) touching the middle and voila! no dust. Thanks!

    This was extremely helpful for guidance as I was trying to install my Steam Deck screen protector from Jsaux. Specifically the dress rehearsal, laying everything out, and while you didn't _mention_ it, I noticed in the reflection that you were wearing a face mask, which in hindsight seems like a no brainer. I ended up having a few bits of dust near the upper right corner of my Deck this time, but I'm going to give it a few days like you said and see if the adhesive is able to push them out. Thanks so much!

    i had a spigen ez install for my 14 pro max. massive screen and i got a tiny bit of dust in the middle. I watched a video where the guy takes his screen protector off and wraps the whole side in tape, so it gets rid of the dust, then, re clean the screen, take the tape off and reapply, this method actually works and got rid of the dust. Due to my finger touching the adhesive on the edge of the protector when removing the first time there is a small mark but its right on the edge so its not even noticeable. Was really ready to buy a second screen protector.

  • @deztroyer76
    @deztroyer76 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I think the main issue isn’t making sure your screen is clean and dust free (that’s pretty simple), the issue is soon as your start to peel off the screen protector covering, the static instantly attracts any dust to the adhesive side and all that work you put into cleaning the screen is for nothing. That and my extreme OCD, I cannot have a single noticeable spec of dust under my screen protector so my several attempts with the $20 Spigen protector on my iPad Pro gets costly quick.

    It’s not the corner of the glass that bent that is not allowing it to adhere, it is the silicone underneath that was damaged in the corner due to the removal by either your nail or whatever else was used to try and lift the glass. You can see in the video.

I recently installed one on my Xiaomi and somehow everything aligned so perfectly on the first try that I just accepted the tiny speck of dust that got left under, as it didn't even cause a bubble, matter of fact it's completely invisible with the screen on.

    Is there any reason not to use this “glass-only” technique? One of the companies had a system like this, I can’t remember which. Red packaging. I tweaked it a little. Easily replicated.
    2 rubber bands, 1 wrapped around each end/side (forming “+”). This holds the glass allowing you to fine-tune the positioning.
    Pick a side/end to place 2 pieces of painter’s tape, forming a “hinge”.
    Carefully remove rubber bands. Place a single piece of painter’s tape on the opposite end/side to use as a little handle. This will help prevent the SP from “over/under-hinging”
    Unhinge. Remove any dust particles on phone’s screen. Remove glass backing and carefully close that book.

    Hello, Your screen protector reviews are awesome! Thank you. I have always preferred a tempered glass screen protector and that is what I have used over the past 15 years. Recently, I purchased a new phone and could not find a really good tempered glass screen protector that would adhere 100% to my screen, as the edges are curved. So I had to use a TPU screen protector and found one that seams to be very good. I also found another TPU screen protector on the internet, that looks to be better than tempered glass. Unfortunately, I cannot find where to buy one. The two TPU screen protectors I would like to know if you have ever tried, and if so what are your thoughts on them, are as follows: The first one is IQ Shield. It is a TPU screen protector, made in the US and comes in a white and green box. It uses a wet installation and from my experience, seems to be the best TPU screen protector I have used in many years. Its super thin and is quite smooth, considering its TPU. The second protector is Nanoglass Supramolecular screen protector. The manufactures video on this product is very impressive. In fact, if it is as good as they say it is, it is much better than tempered glass and possibly the best screen protector on the planet. I cannot find this screen protector for purchase anywhere or much info on it, but here is a link to a demonstration video. www.indiegogo.com/projects/nanoglass-the-most-powerful-screen-protector#/
    Let me know your thoughts,

    Is there any oily ness over the screen after installing the screen protector?..The oily ness is visible to me at full brightness and at white screen. It's not an outside problem I am sure of that..

    Video idea: how do you remove a screen protector and any residue, while minimising any negative effects on the screen and its coating?

    I’ve tried 9x now and I still can’t do this without getting dust under it or messing it up in some other way. I’ve tried everything. After trying the steam method, none of the screen protectors install without bubbles in the top right corner. Every single attempt some dust has been under, even though there was none before I applied. I almost had it perfect on my last one but then some dust appeared at the top edge, I wasn’t sure if it was under but some of it was, I removed the protector partially and then more and more dust appeared! I just applied another one and dust appeared, I removed the protector partially to get rid of it but now the protector is majorly misaligned somehow, it’s about 0.5mm to far to the left and lopsided. I really don’t know what to do, I’ve spent so much on screen protectors at this point 😢

    I don't understand why ANYONE would do it in a shower with STEAM and hot water running! What I do is go into the shower long after the shower is over because there is still water all around (floor, walls, ceiling), and all that water typically catches any dust flying around.

    Meh why not save yourself all that hassle and get the spigen easy fit screen protector?? I’ve been using them for a number of years and have never ever had an issue with air bubbles or dust. Comes with a tray and so so easy to apply.
    Not sure why anyone in their right minds would do it the old way 😂.

    I need help! I noticed I had my dogs fur under my phone screen protector I tried taking it out, but it just ended getting a whole lot worse my entire screen protector came off my phone and now their is lint and dust everywhere. I am currently at work and I need to clean this screen protector when I head back home cause this is the 2nd spare screen protector that I had used and now I am going to have to purchase another new phone screen protector again if this doesn’t go well. 😰

    Do you have an install instruction video for the screen protectors which use UV cured liquid glue?

    Dust under a screen protector is the biggest trigger in the world for my OCD. The slightest speck of dust and the screen protector must be destroyed and a new one re-applied.

    Ever thought of trying android phones? Although one can expect same quality screen protectors for different phones from the same screen protector manufacturer they need to be tested, what this channel does!
    Even then, the shape, weight & size of devices introduce enough variables to result in different protection performance for different phones from the same brand. Add different brands & you have a lifetime worth screen protectors to test & diversify the channel.

    I could have used this video a couple years ago. I bought a Flolab protector as per your recommendation and I got stuck in that infinite step eleven trying to get rid of all the dust until the corner got bent. I reached out to them and they offered me a “free” replacement that I had to pay around $10 to get. I left the protector as it was until I realized 3 days into a Disney vacation that one of the dust bubbles were creating blurry spots on my front-facing camera pics. I trashed the screen protector and I’ve been going au naturel ever since.

    I plan to get the flolab nano armor screen protector for my iPhone 14, but I also plan to use the otterbox case, is it a good idea to get the flolab considering it’s an edge to edge screen protector? I’m hesitant to use the flolab just because it might not fit well with the otterbox phone case
