The word root for 'hissy' actually comes from 'hysterical' so the term 'hissy fit' (a sudden period of uncontrolled and silly anger) derives from that, essentially 'flies into hysterics.' Never particularly liked the term considering the origins but I like the concept of reapropriating it into a meaning that isn't so rooted in chauvisism and patrarichy.

I know it’s hard when the dog is anxious but… from personal experience less than a year ago…. Please don’t keep those little dogs unsecured in the car 😢 I was hit badly by another car and my little dog went flying into the glove compartment and hit the floor hard. It was bad but could have been so much worse. From then on, we never put our dogs in the car without a carrier or something else to secure them.
