My life will be infinitely given in service of SUPER EARTH
I never payed the first helldivers. But the illuminate are basically the covenant, the predators and war of the worlds rolled into one 😅😅
Predator/Alien theme. Full on attack of xenophobia, fear of the unknown. Terminids are based from Starship Troopers movie where there is a clear good guy/bad guy so it tends to sound like a hero in a crisis. Automatons were based on terminator robots but they're the opposing 'humanoid' side that choose machinery over their humanity so it's a war between democracy vs. communism, a gritty battle of ideology. We have yet to see illuminates and know barely anything about them in the sequel. So when they attack, it's a sudden attack that comes out of nowhere like an ambush. That's why the whole theme is sounds like a scifi horror movie, something sinister that you have no knowledge of us hunting you.

As a vet from the first game, I get a bit of a chuckle when these new divers from the creek think the "squith" will be like the tin cans, the bots prepared you to fight superior firepower, not wisdom. These guys rely on guerrilla warfare, hit and run, and ambushes. These guys are also the reason we have energy weapons and shields. Just at the end of the day. Be prepared to hear the jungle speaking in cuthulu.
Edit: Also, pay attention to other vets replies to my post, as they also bring up up other tips that I forgot to mention. And I've just seen more of the leaks for them, and it seems they have actually made a deal with space cuthulu to try and win this war, so the jungle definitely is gonna speak cuthulu now.

I can imagine Illuminate will make a far more threatening entrance and alarm than the Automatons or Terminids. While the latter may have flares and signals, Illuminate just phase in without warning, and with shielding/cloaking on top of that.
I'd like to imagine a giant blue portal would appear and a huge swarm of enemies will slowly walk out from it like the Avengers.

@@purpleisthesneakiest Slight correction: while undeployed the Obelisk had an armoured dome that was immune to EVERYTHING we could throw at it. Rockets, railcannon, the literal fucking *NUKE*, all those washed over it - and only it remained.

Helldiver rookies proudly boasting about Creek and Draupnir. When these fish faces return, y'all be squeaking differently.
Bro I'm a rookie myself and I can't keep thinking that the worst is yet to come, and the divers going on about malevelon have no idea
Especially considering its likely were going to lose a LOT of ground and a lot of HARD campaigns since super earth has a liberation status
As a rookie building up my knowledge and resources who hasn't even touched Malevelon Creek. I fear for my future survival. I know that I am currently ill equipped to deal with just the bots. Let alone the illuminate.
@@quantumslime7265 the good thing about the illuminate is that they are somewhere between bugs and bots when it comes to how easy it is to take them down. Most have a shield, but if it's going to be like in helldivers 1, your trusty flamethower will ignore the shield partially, with the flame AoE dealing damage through the shield. They are also not *as* range focused as the bots, there aren't as many ranged units and will mostly melee you. There are a few troublesome things though that, despite them being between the two existing factions when it comes to tankiness, will makes them harder to face than the bots. I kid you not, Malevelon Creek will look like a playground in comparison.
1: the illuminate use hit 'n run tactics using teleportation and cloaking technology.
2: as i mentioned, they have shields. They will not be as well armored, but most of them will have a shield that requires to be shot first.
3: snipers. A common fodder they set in a lot can snipe you from a distance in combination with their ambush tactics.
And this is just the tip of what they will bring to the table. Honestly though, comparing to what we got, they are a bless to fight. My favorite faction to fight in hd1 as well. The bugs are mere ferals, the bots are AI that focus on overwhelming forces. The illuminate is the only faction besides humans with a true sentience, and thus fighting them will feel like you're actually going to space vietnam and more.
I'd recommend picking up the first game yourself though, trust me when i say that everything about helldivers 2 is in spirit of the first game, and it is just as fun.
@@wickerg041 Yikes. That sounds simultaneously like hell and a lot of fun. Maybe I'll take your advice and try the first game out. Especially since I'm a greenie who jumped on the hype train of HD 2. Thanks for the input.
@@quantumslime7265 no problem! And imo the best way to prepare for the illuminate is by playing the first game. Fun fact btw, in the first game the automatons are not the automatons. They were actually cyborgs with an interesting lore, humans that declared independence from super earth. It's an experience you gotta experience yourself tbh, since without helldivers 1 there would not be a 2. And so you can proudly say, "i went from hypetrain ride to full liberty enjoyer!"

This reminds me of the type of music they had in Doom eternal when you were in the sections of Urdak. Both of them have a computing technological rhythm, foreboding string and synthetic section, and the voice chorus gives off an impression of angels. God the strings section around 3:48 makes my skin crawl, I love it
In a nutshell:
Terminids: overwhelming numbers and also a few strong loners, focus on close combat
Automatons: overwhelming firepower and moderate numbers, focus on range
Illuminate: overwhelming tactics and probably small numbers, but with focus on damage
The Illumiante are gonna have far superior range than both the bots and us, with their snipers
also their dynamic is that all the Units are unique, some melee, some far range, some SUPER far range, also think of it as fighting a faction of stalkers lol
@@Gmh- I think with us stripping most of their technology, they will be more focused on tactics than ever
@@TanksnstuffsOr upgraded theirs to match us. Superearth did start the war against them afterall, so…
Well, let’s just say this music sounds quite vengeful.
Why does the undetected sound like a dead by daylight terror radius 💀
DUDE I THOUGHT THE SAME THING HAHAHAHA
BECAUSE ITS GONNA FEEL THAT WAY! These creatures are vicious!
The trees speak binary, the ground skitters and shakes, but the shadows.. they speak squid.
I want people to know, illuminates can literally reverse your controls
And block your path with random energy walls, or split you in half while they’re summoning one.
And they sneak attack you… quite a lot.
I'm scared bros
you should be
The storm that is coming is far more terrifying than anything the rookies have faced so far. Vets of the first Galactic War know. We all know...
@@-notapplicable-5666this is going to be fun for a vet like me then. Lets kick some squid ass
We are COOKED
We're so beyond fucked
"Malevelon Creek" was hell, but we could understand it.
...there are worst things beyond our understanding in the universe, and it is watching us closely.
Illuminate portal detected 1:50
Terminids: Swarms, like waves
Automatons: Uniform suppression, like cogs of a machine
Illuminates: Unconventional force, we are fish out of water
Back when I played on the Wii, I always used inverted controls due to the comfort I feel for flipping it over.
Bring it on!
Helldivers already die like hamsters to bots and bugs so I cannot wait to see how we die to the squids.
As a vet I am both overwhelmingly excited and terrified
This sounds so cool, like a movie introducing a villain
I love the comments, for me it is part of the lore, many super earth houses have the veterans of the first game, and they talk about the new helldivers as if they were newbies who have not yet seen the terror of what they will become. illumnates, like it's like the vietnam war
It’s not just the enemies to fight, it’s the muscle memory to fight off too…

Illuminate might invert your stratagems 😳
I didnt realize this games soundtracks were like killer terror radius from dbd that's kind of sick actually
Yep, this music fits the mysterious cosmic horrors beyond human comprehension
Is everything about this game amazing?
Yes. Yes it is...
I absolutely love this, it really makes them feel like a massive threat even bigger than the automatons and terminids and I also love how it sounds like something out of spiderverse.
Squids about to cleave my entire team with a rapidly forming energy wall. The only race to regularly reach super earth back on HD1, awful faction to fight against.
Never been so excited for something I hate so much to return.
You know the laugh you make when you are excited and scared? The comments and music are doing a good job on making that work
We are so cooked when we face the Illuminate💀
Looks like Calamari’s back on the menu boys!!
it would be cool if they did an event in HD1 of the illuminates detecting a rip through space and time, and we try to stop them from going into the future (HD2), and we fails, and at the exact same time of the announced failure, Illuminates from the past comes through the Meridia portal opened with the Dark Fluid mission.
Thats would be sooooo cool omg
Imagine, if we dont complete direction pad combination, our character wont stop shooting our friends with 100% accuracy, throw nades at them or even use stratagem against our own comrades, that would be so freaking cool
I was on the Creek, Draupnir, and Tibit. I've seen all the bots can throw at super earth, and killed it. I know their tricks, their strategies, their weapons. But this song... It makes me feel scared. Scared as to what the squids could bring back to the table. And from the horror stories told by the vets of the first war, I feel even more afraid of what could come.
