I've always been cautious guy, so I understood how you have to observe people for a wile before getting into the mix, I was blessed during my bid. And your right a few dudes I chopped it up with at the beginning I wasn't chilling with at the end. So did my time in FL. Sfrc 2 weeks, marion main unit 2 weeks and then the rest was gwc.
I remember my first day in prison my celly gave me a shot of coffee and a Seroquel 😂😂🤣 maaaaan I was high af 🤣 almost forgot I was locked up for a minute.

In The Prison i did most my time each unit had two shower rooms with heads along the wall sometimes you would have 5 other naked men shearing your shower u get wet step back and soap up them jump back under the water to wash off and the water was always cold especially during winter but you normally share that shower with your own race so someone can keep an eye out when soap is covering your eyes
Best thing someone can do is to flat out tell the dude to back off. Leave you alone you don’t get down like that. Just don’t associate with anyone at first. Keep it simple. Don’t be conversing in details about things. Dont be an ahole, but be direct and blunt and carry yourself with some confidence.

Our county jail has half door on entryway and it's single shower stall but you still have them tang top Timmy's that try to make it look like they walking by and turn there heads towards you that's when you box there ears off 😂
I got lucky ever prison I was at had signal showers with doors they didn't lock but you had a shower curtain too one had like a row of half walls with curtains the county jail had two person showers and if someone was taking a shit they could see you but even then we didn't two people shower

There's a huge difference in the direction of the nod and what it means, I've seen lots of guys get jacked up for not knowing what they are doing and doing it too. If you raise your chin up, it's like saying "what's up" which is fine if you know the person or you are intentionally challenging them. If you bring your chin down, it's a sign of acknowledgement, respectful, a sign that you see them but have no intention. And never ever ever ever, jam a guy in front of his friends, and don't get jammed up in front of yours, appearance is everything reputation is everything

i guess the prisons are different all over the country. i walked straight to a group of guys my race asap and just sat near them and it was all good for me after that we became friends.The showers was one at a time they said bad things happened before when multiple guys occupied it. Everyone is different though it may not be as easy for you your own race might mess you up depending on wich jail your in. Westcoast sticks to its race so thats what i did.
It definitely happens. More so in the high security level, older prisons. Theirs many modern stories about men witnessing, hearing, defending themselves from, inmates admitting to "R" crimes and men becoming a victim of it while in lockup, right here on TH-cam.

In uk in 1990 till about about 1999 then everyone showering would shower with. Boxers off now it changed everyone showers with boxers on but in early times. When i was there if you kept your. Boxers on then they made fun and said you were the weirdo

I did 10 years in the feds and never once took a shower in my boxers, no one did. The part about not accepting shower shoes, soap or related items from other inmates is not terrible advice but in the places I was in there was a tradition of guys legitimately trying to look out for new guys by giving them essentials until they receive their property or have a chance to go to the store, we had inmates who had money in there and they would buy extra hygiene stuff just for this purpose and they don't necessarily expect to get paid back. From what I saw in there over the years inmates who are gay or are otherwise into that kind of thing will try to move in with each other, there was many arrangements like this in there and everyone knew it, the CO's and the unit counselors, they all knew who was doing what and it's really something that they don't even care about. As far as telling, sure if someone is harming you or forcing you to do things that you do not want to do then you need to go do what is best for you and get out of that situation. There are people who are just not equipped to do violence, even if they had gone out and robbed a bank or carjacked someone they still might not be equipped to handle a situation where they are being pressured by someone else in prison and if they are perceived as weaker or effeminate they might not even have the support of other inmates, most of whom do not like predators or thieves in prison, you just have to do what is best for you in that situation.
One thing I always did was wear my boxers and face toward the entrance to the shower. Wasn't about to catch me slipping. F that shit. Lock in a sock or my blade in between my clean clothes as well. Gotta stay ready for anything. Aint even got to involve you it just might end up like that.

There are people who are just not equipped to do violence, even if they had gone out and robbed a bank or carjacked someone they still might not be equipped to handle a situation where they are being pressured by someone else in prison and if they are perceived as weaker or effeminate they might not even have the support of other inmates, most of whom do not like predators or thieves in prison, you just have to do what is best for you in that situation.
One thing I always did was wear my boxers and face toward the entrance to the shower. Wasn't about to catch me slipping. F that shit. Lock in a sock or my blade in between my clean clothes as well. Gotta stay ready for anything. Aint even got to involve you it just might end up like that.
