You ought to be here in Mississippi because we have our share of thunderstorms. I remember one particular time when we were in the den watching TV, keeping an eye out for possibilities of tornados coming from the severe thunderstorm system. I can even tell you what program we were watching at that time. It was around12:30 to about :40 when the storm hit us. We were watching Days of Our Lives. During the episode, I was lying down just a foot away from the antenna lead cable to the set when a bolt hit the antenna outside. It burned a hole across the carpet, like I said, I was just a foot away from the cable when it struck. Man, what a loud thunderclap it produced. Now I probably have tinnitus in my left ear from that blast for it was extremely loud that close. At another time, my brother was in our dad's Mazda when he was listening for weather reports when lightning ran on the antenna, ruining the radio. At that time, we were already settled in our house when this happened. So you see, we have our share of severe weather here in Mississippi Prentiss County.
i bet that storm could've scared the daylights out of me if i lived there and that thunder was super close and loud @2:36 wow that clap of thunder was awesome dude
Hasn't rained in Houston, closest was a few sprinkles reported in Deer Park & light showers in Baytown.. Radar on 6 p.m. news showed some rain in Livingston area, along U.S. 190..
I don't think the storm produced much rain over all. We just got hit with a small intense cell. A friend of mine down in Port Arthur barely got anything. Most of the lightning is difficult to see but there were a few good ones... At :38 strike- top left of the screen, 1:08 ground strike- center, 1:53 ground strike- center, 2:54 bright flash, 3:42 strike- left center above the trees, 4:29 bright flash, 4:56 bright flash, and the final one you mentioned 5:24 right lower corner.
hey no worries, don't worry about the water droplets, that was fantastic thunderstorm my friend, wish we got good thunderstorms but all we get is a pathetic grunt and a drop or two of rain, that's it, very disappointing lol
cool video! We get some pretty intense storms around here. I was amazed when I first moved out here. I had never seen anything like these crazy Texas storms. I enjoy them as long as I'm inside!! I freak out if I'm outside or driving in it. Thanks for the comment. :)
ABC13.com reported Beaumont had something like 3/4" of rain, guess this is at the airport.. Noted at about 5.23 min, there was a short flash in the lower right corner of the video, followed by a short clap of thunder (Didn't see that first time around.).
A nice good southern thunderstorm. I love storms like that, we get alot of those here in Denver during the may to September time period with lightning hail n wind. Not too many tornadoes though....
Yeah, Thunderstorms do make some weird sounds, Like that one time the thunderstorms in my city in 2022 had thunder that sounded like paper ripping, It was a strange thing
I think the storm this morning was heading North East. It didn't look like much on radar this morning I was surprised with how intense the storm was. We've just been getting some light passing rain this afternoon.
Is it just me or did that last bold of lightening strike right in front of the camera? Towards the end at around 5:25, at the bottom right of the camera.
No, it's a ghost artifact. Camcorders without a high enough framerate will shift images down if it tries to record something with a very short duration, like a lightning return stroke.
At 1:32, I heard a large drop of rainwater fall into your microphone. If it sounds different just after that, that's because the water got into the mic. I can hear the difference in the sound.
Bang,boom,crackle,crash,explosion and fizz. Great!
These are the most bizarre thunderclaps I ever heard. It must have been pretty scary I would think. These 'bombs' must have shaken the house!!

lightning on a camera produces ghost leaders and makes it look closer than it actually is.

That last one on 5:25 was the loudest Thunder. Love the true sound of the rolling thunder.
Who noticed the positive streamer launch at 5:25?
I think that is lens flare
@@bucephalus00 I managed to put it on slowmo and get a screenshot. A definite positive streamer. 😃🤩⚡

its just the lens reflecting or bending light if it hit right there it would be like a explosion. and probable blow up the camera. it would be crazy.
