This song is my very favorite from this movie! Its so wonderful to watch the interaction between these two lovely people. No doubt about that relationship. Thanks for posting this. I'm a lifelong fan and own every single movie they made together and separately.
At this time they were expecting a child together love for each other is so evident absolutely divine this is a good lesson not to give up on people who you love and cherish they did that their whole life together
What a lovely comment, Bill. Thanks for sharing this story. I do agree with you that love between two people is wonderful and this song just illustrates that. There are some great songs which the pair sang together and separately........songs which endure and express true emotion. Glad to enjoyed this clip.
They made a lovely partnership on screen. definitely complemented each other, in looks and vocally. Always. pleasure to see and hear! Good of you to comment, Allen.
All I can say.... wonderful, I am so sorry she died in 1965 and Nelson passed away in Australia a few years later of heart failure. They both loved each other.
Nelson didn’t pass away in Australia. He had a brain haemorrhage while he was singing in Miami and died in the hospital next morning at 7am. Just how he wanted to go.
Just delightful, thank you for posting. Great movie (and love) making by two of the most talented and good looking people to have ever worked in Hollywood.
They were really in love in real life. And when Janette passed away in the 1960s, Nelson was so struck down from it and he passed away less than a year later. They say that couples truly in love pass pretty close to each other. My great grandparents both died within 3 months of each other

They were not involved off screen but certainly admired each other. They are very talented. Nelson is very handsome. and they are iconic as far as the movies go.
Actually, they were very much a couple. Jeanette is carrying their baby, and you can even see a baby bump in the dancing scene. You may find the book “Sweethearts” by Sharon Rich an interesting and factual read, complete with sources.
Ah, the era of wonderful musicals and lush production. And Nelson and Jeanette. Lovely!
Thank you, thank you! Such gracious, gifted people - and still able to bless a world that desperately needs such lights!
Two of the very greatest singers ever to grace the screen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2:41 HE'S BLOWING AT HER EAR/NECK AND HER REACTION IS SO ADORABLE AND THEY ARE SO ADORABLE!!!!!! I bet that wasn't on the script.
I’d loved to have known what Louis B Mayer thought about that!!!

It was really fun seeing Jeanette and Nelson in a contemporary time period. I wish they had continued in this vein after Sweethearts.

My mother's Days...
Does anyone know the name of the big Dutch Windmill number from Sweethearts? I'm looking for it everywhere on You Tube but can't find it.
+John Fugazzi I'm a year later, writing this response to you, but I believe the name of the song is "Jeanette and her Two Wooden Shoes"
+Carl L. Thank you. i wish someone would post it.
Does anyone know who wrote this song? My guess is that the tune is by Victor Herbert and the words by Richard Wright and Robert Forrest.
@Margaret Hale No, it was not in the script ;-)
They were not involved off screen but certainly admired each other.
They are very talented. Nelson is very handsome. and they are iconic as far as the movies go.
Actually, they were really in love, and did have romance together behind the scenes
