i have a few alocasia, and again summer is SPOT on! my thinner alocasia (i have 2, 1 being sting ray for eg) very fusey and prone to pest problem which spread to my other plants! almost gave up on the sting ray but it manage to shoot 1 leaf out after i chop off almost everything :( then on other hand, my alocasia black velvet - easy no problem, recently flower as well with 2 new leaves after i cut off the damaged leaves during delivery. so thanks again summer!
I'm so glad for your channel, you've put so much thought and effort into them! These are gems! I can always count on your videos at the end of the day, looking to watch all 365 of them! Thank you!
I just received an alocasia polly and I'm in love, cant find a video for this plant if you can I would this. I have got some good tips but would love to hear your take on it. This plant is on my list....gorgeous. Thank you
Hi, Summer, you mention how thicker leaves alocasia might be hardier, like a couple more. Which two more? Just bought a Frydek 2 weeks ago and since then, the horror stories , oh my. It’s looking so happy too...
Love watching these!!! I love when you say how long you’ve had the plants.....which leads me to wonder what your old plant is and how long you had it! Can we see?!?!
I just received mine yesterday and I worry about it constantly already. Mine seems to be quite young as the leaves are pretty thin. Do you find that it goes dormant in the winter?
water your soil, wait 2 days, measure, there's your number...I keep all my alocasia in a sub-irrigated plant wall, much like Summer so the soil is always wet
Love love love alocasia! What I've come to learn about them is that they're pretty hardy PROVIDED their surrounding conditions remain stable. Sudden changes in light, temperature & humidity will have pests smelling blood in the water for miles around. You don't want to tinker with the thermostat in an alocasia's home. You will anger it! 🌱🔪😳
super myth: only fertilize during growing season... for the last 3 years I have been micro dosing 1-2 tear drops every time I water in a jug of water I let sit for 24 hours
My alocasia cuprea has put out a flower, it’s my first time owning an alocasia. I feel like a proud mother 😋😄

Can we just have a plant a day series???? Like never ending plant story!
Isn't that what "365 Days of Plants" is?
That is just the cutest wee alocasia!
Love you Summer. The way you present a video is very good.

That is a lovely plant.
I love this plant!
Just got one from Lowe’s yesterday!
I just bought my first one today. I have a few other corn plants so hopefully I can make this one happy. So long as lighting is correct.
I'd suggest closer to the windows for Alocasia. When the sun shifted in fall, mine received filtered sunlight and growth was amazing. 🎉🎉
What about humidity? Do the need it? Like it?
Wow so beautiful plant👌😍💚💙
That is pretty.
love it

I heard alocasia like to be root bound and that pot seems a little too big...could that be the reason it hasn’t put out more leaves?
Q. Summer, I was wondering what your recommendation is for led strips for bookshelves? Trying to get innovative!
I have an alocasia cuprea living in water. Hoping it gets enough roots to pot soon.
Cannot believe they jacked up the prices for this alocasia.
Here in borneo you can get it from the flea market for $1.5
I'm buying mine today its only $450 😭
@@nathanl3497 Which part of Borneo are you referring to?

Aren’t Alocasia poisonous? I read even touching them can irritate skin
Looks like ninja turtle shell to me.

If this is what it looks like in 2 years your plant is not happy at all
hello why your plants look so weak?
