You can also plug the output of the memory cell into the generator for force stop should you have a system where main power is reinstated, it will kill the generator again

Hey man, in your next video, if you could elaborate on how this actually works, it would be very helpful. While trying to learn all this, it would help to impliment the ideas put into this build into either making it more complex or work off diff circuits. Thanks for the video though

The system I want is as follows: Battery runs the turrets. Generator turns on and charges the battery once the battery is low, but will also take over powering the turrets if the battery is destroyed. Basically this but the generator charges the battery under normal conditions, but will power the turrets if the battery is destroyed.

Add another an ebranch. Generator power out to ebranch, branch out 10 for each turret and power out to battery. In this scenario, 30 to turrets which would leave 70 charging battery. Could be wrong, new to electrical so would have to test

Using an XOR switch here feels very wrong.. should definitely be an OR switch.. since if both powers for some reason are on, the whole circuit will just turn off

once the initial battery charge is depleted, this turns into an over priced direct generator to turret , the battery never charges and the generator never shuts off

Works exactly as shown... nice I doubled it for extra backup/redundancy. How do you think a circuit could be added to tell generator beck off? Branch off main battery line and trigger to force stop with green thing.

This way work for me now instead of the last video, now my question is, when the battery is charged enough, is there a way to make the generator auto-switch off?

    • @sinanaydn7907
      @sinanaydn7907 4 ปีที่แล้ว

You could wire up a timer to do that but that would be circumstantial; you would assume that the battery is charged enough to power stuff again. You could also wire the normal output of the flip-flop to force stop of the generator but it would create an oscillation between the battery and the generator when the battery depletes. Unfortunately there is no perfect solution in Rust yet. (I'm basically an electrical engineer btw)

When i connect it like this the battery is draining...
    Power incoming 160
Power useage i think 10 max (only components)
What do i need to change that he first use incoming power(and charging battery) and when battery is low then use generator.
And when therw is enough power that the generator shuts off ?

So my base is in a hidden, bushy place. And I want it to be silent, so I have 1 medium battery and 4 solar panels wired up to some root combiners. I want it to like, run on battery power when there's no more sun, and run on solar power when there is sun.
Any idea how I can do that?

You'll need a blocker and a OR switch and a electrical branch.

Hey mate great video, I managed to get this to work perfectly and tested it a few times now for some reason it’s no longer working when the power is being fed via the battery.I checked the power that the splitter is receiving and it is now only receiving 23 power and then each output of the splitter is only giving out 7 as a result which isn’t enough to power any of the turrets. Like I said I got it to work but now it’s messed up for some reason and I don’t know how to fix it?

I'm confused what the memory cell is for... wouldn't u just be able to use an OR switch? or just set it up like ppl set up lights to come on when the sun is down? (blocker)... i dunno... i haven't played around with electricity much - just feels like there should be an _easier_ way...
p.s. i just uploaded my newest video 😉😉nudge nudge

The memory cell is a bit confusing, for sure the most confusing bit that is used in the circuit. But the memory cell is just a D type flipflop.

when the power comes through the first branch it is setting the memory cell to state 1, the second branch is setting it to state 2 (the inverted power that starts the generator), when the power is on, the first branch is instantly set again and the loop continues. When there is no power input, the last remaining electricity (in rust at least) travels through the second branch, putting the memory cell in state 2 (starting the generator), just before the memory cell (which is at the end of the circuit) loses power and dies.
