      The quality of the food doesn't really reflect on cleanliness.

    • @EmEeElBaybee
      @EmEeElBaybee 10 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      MsElizavita you obviously dont understand the meaning of "street food". In Vietnam, street foods are the best. Prepared with fresh ingredients and made to order. Not filled with preservatives like McDonald's and burker king. And mcd and bk is not prepared in a clean environment anyways, with a recent situation where a mcd employee had put his semen on a burger for a customer, you call that clean?

    I would have to say it is because dogs are extremely intelligent. A cow will do nothing but sit in a field all day and eat grass, while dogs are trained to help people walk, help police ect. Dogs also show emotion and very explicitly grow attached to people, showing that they feel love.

    For those who concern about the beef: beef was sliced into very thin pieces and added fish sauce so that why it had a dark color. She only sells in the afternoon, not all day long, so it doesn't necesarry to store it in the fridge. And you can't stir-fry thin sliced beef for a long time or it will be very chewy and stuck in your teeth.
    And not all of Vietnamese eat dog meat. Many arguments about eating dog meat have been set out but we just can't change their mind :( Sorry for my bad english.

      I guess it's pretty obvious but she probably did that on purpose. She was paid same price for smaller portion and probably ate the little pieces after since it's free food for her. I believe these regions of Thailand are not that rich so that's why people are trying to find these kinds of ways to survive. It's actually pretty sad.

  • @AnhH88

    I can count how many ingredients are in that meal. That's a good sign. Here are a **partial** list of ingredients in a typical American hamburger bun: enriched flour, high fructose corn syrup, canola oil, calcium sulfate, calcium carbonate, ammonium sulfate, ammonium chloride, dough conditioners, sodium stearoyl lactylate, datem, ascorbic acid, azodicarbonamide, mono- and diglycerides, ethoxylated monoglycerides, monocalcium phosphate. Yep, that's just for the bun. Don't even get me started on the meat. The best food are food with simple ingredients you can read.

    I'm American, and I can honestly say I'd MUCH RATHER eat genuinely and skillfully cooked food like this every day. As much as I enjoy a good burger and fries, a majority of the food people eat in America is trash compared to this. (Of course, my opinion.) I've never been to China, Japan, Thailand or Vietnam, and I constantly wish I could taste the street food from those countries.

    Rare meat is delicious! Asking someone to prepare you a well done steak is like asking for garbage on a plate. Also in the video the beef was sliced thin so it cooks really fast.

    Yes, I confirm that. In italy we eat rabbit without any problem (and in France as well) and my grandmother once told me of them eating a cat during the war. A couple of years ago a pretty famous old food expert explained how to prepare a cat on the national television… and he was suddenly fired…

    It's probably around 100°F outside... here, let me serve you this unrefrigerated, unseasoned meat that I'll just whisk around these barely cooked onions and top it off with 5 or 6 leaves of unwashed lettuce with no dressing... even for $1... crap is still crap...

      Still better than the McDonalds happy meal crap we eat here in the states don't you think? And I'm pretty sure she seasoned the meat before hand already - for a dollar, that's pretty good.

      Hawaiianpizzaforever as torche said though, its probably unsafe for traveler's stomach...people there have built tolerance to certain bacterias as they grow up so it probably wont be as bad for the locals. it's very hot/humid in vietnam, the unrefrigerated meat would turn bad in just few hours in that weather, all the dusts and pollution from motobikes right next to it goes into the food, EVEN if the lettuce was washed, i still wouldn't trust it unless it was washed with bottled water , Vietnam tab water has been proven to carry high levels of e-coli bacteria as well as certain amount of arsenic... she handles money bare handed and touches the food also bare handed... i'd hate to sound like a germaphobic but i've been to vietnam many times and i've gotten quite sick before... i've learned my lessons.

      You probably have had too much McDonald's shit and have not a single idea what cooking is. First, beef should be marinated OVERNIGHT and there are bits of garlic in the beef bowl, clearly it was marinated well and she poured some meat source in when she cooked. Second, if you stir fry it for too long it get fucking chewy your teeth will fall off after a few bites. Finally, try French steaks, they are dripping red and fucking good.
      Cheers.

    I'll let you in on a little secret which I found out after working in a few restaurants when I was younger. If you order a well done steak you will be given the oldest in the fridge because cooking it well done hides all the old taste. There's nothing wrong with the steak but its just near to being thrown out. But if you order a rare or even a medium rare then you will be given a nice fresh looking steak which taste's a million times better.

    I think this is better than what most Westerners can dream of having everyday.
    In a way, we Asians in Asia are lucky to have healthy, home-coooked food on the go. All the Westerners have brought to Asia is fatty, unhealthy chemically-made fast foods.

    nothing wrong with raw (or 'rare') beef... In fact, beef carpaccio (Italian) and beef tartare (French) require the beef to be completely raw - as in, still cold.

    Has it ever crossed your mind that she might have precooked it in a pressure cooker for an hour or so. Fast food vendors does that to decrease time. They can just use the precooked meat and prepare the dish in two to three minutes.

    I agree with Sheep Black:
    The beef was most likely marinated with a mixture of soy sauce, fish sauce,sugar, garlic...hence the dark marinade/sauce she poured into the pan. As well, how can you tell from those few seconds that the lower part of her "cart" isn't refrigerated/cooled?
    As for the dog meat, stop hating. In Peru, people eat guinea pigs and in some other areas they eat insects. To them, it's their source of protein. By that logic, what's the difference between a dog and a cow or pig?

  • @NguyenVietDuc
    @NguyenVietDuc 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    In Vietnam, dog meat is more expensive than beef. The price 1USD is from 2009, now may be 2USD
