Well, they ended up with the best song in the movie, so I'd say it was worth it.
+captaintaco2345 And Christopher Walken did a nice rendition of that song. Also Richard Sherman reprised as song writer for the new version with improved lyrics on this song and Trust in Me.
It was easily the best sequence, in the best Disney animated movie. They couldn't have cast it better. It was a masterpiece.
R.I.P Louie Prima
"and the animators saw them parading around the lounge while playing, and they drew that in the film"
There is also footage of Prima & the Witnesses doing that same parade while they're recording the song for "The Jungle Book"!
One of the best feelings I get is when I watch this scene in Jungle Book.
bikerchic650 that's the toe tapping call of swing! check out Prima's other work like Angelina and Gigalo for a similar feeling, but adequately varied tones. All his work in context shows Prima's immense talent to play around with the music and almost mock it while celebrating it.
Jeez I love this story. Loved how they were able to get Prima to voice King Louie and sing this amazing song
I first saw Jungle Book in 1976, and I didn’t know until this exact moment that King Louis was Louis Prima. What a great story this was.
RIP Richard M Sherman
9/13/16: My favorite song in the movie!!!!! GREAT.
Louis Prima is so awesome.
i loved every second of this video.
One of the best scenes in all of movie making!
This was Highkey fun to watch. 😁
I just realised that the name "King of the Swingers" is a pun
+Giulio Tallarico Swing is a genre of music which this song is done in
Stumbled upon this, great video, with a great energy!
I want more of this!! There was a video that explained how the part with Balloo happened but I don't find it! :(
Master piece
Didn't Disney Animation Studios do the animation? The animation in this clip looks surprisingly on model, on the parts with King Louie.
The main melody was "borrowed" from an improvised riff by Mugsy Spannier on his tune "That's A Plenty" - check it out at @ The "I wanna be like you" riff kicks in at around 00.45. Enjoy! ;0)
Darn good ear, I checked and you’re indeed correct!
@@LaFaveBros In honesty I can't claim credit; I remember reading it somewhere and it stuck with me. Thanks for the comment and enjoy your evening
Just brilliant people
He sound a lot like Mel Brooks lol
He even looks like him, he could be his little brother.
bless Richard
I❤❤❤❤❤❤Louis Prima ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I really hope this song makes a return in the new film!
+Kiba Bloodfang It does (OuO)
Cool!!!
Great video, WAY to short
+FinaleCadence What I find odd was that Loiue Prima's widow sued Jim Cummings for doing (King) Louie's voice on 'Talespin'. Which is also why Louie's name was changed to Larry in 'House Of Mouse'. I find the whole thing ridiculous because Jim Cummings is crazy talented, and didn't deserve this kind of lawsuit dumped on him.
+Marc Baker at least they use both voices now. You now hear Prima's voice in various locations while still using Cummings voice for Disney park shows
+Marc Baker That's stupid, i guess the Evlis preseley estate should sue every elvis impersonator for doing voices like elvis.
+Marc Baker For that matter, Mel Blanc's wife, if she was still alive when he died could have sued Warner Brothers and we may not have had any more Bugs Bunny...
Эх, моя первая любимая песня за всю историю Диснея

Моя вторая любимая песня Диснея

This animation storyboard by: Flyod Norman. :-)
I'm the King of the swingers oh, the jungle V.I.P
here's the footage of the recording session and Richard (?) telling the same story. it's too bad it's just cut off. where's the rest? th-cam.com/video/rV8HrpOu1FA/w-d-xo.html
What’s that. Did I hear, “we used to care about making films.” I think so
Louis, Sam, and I believe most if not all of the witnesses were all originally from New Orleans. So that's most likely where the parading and promenading around the stage came from.
This clip had no right to be as cool as it was lol
