I did this exact trip a few years back. I made the mistake of doing it in summer and it was packed. There are several beautiful landmarks to explore along the current. I plan to do a fall trip at some point so I can better enjoy it
What a great adventure! I hope you will find your way to Florida and paddle the upper Suwannee River sometime. You would love it! When the water levels are right, it is just like the Current River: steady flow and perfect for leisurely paddling through remote areas with wonderful scenery and wildlife. It also has Florida's only Class 3 rapid, which has capsized many a rec kayak!
Not quite that far from St. Louis but a beginning paddler on the Ozarks Meramec and Huzzah streams would love to see another video that shows how to avoid those darn logs that make me flip and/or what to do when you get caught at one anyway.... love where I live!
Having been down the Current River twice now, I have to ask; did you see many snakes?! I was told to ‘stay clear of the banks and you’ll be fine’, except I kept seeing the slitherings crossing the river. I’d go again on my paddle board, except for that worry! 🐍
Love floating the Current & Jack's Fork Rivers.
Wow Ken, every weekend is with you!
I LOVE The Current River! :-)
Geez, I feel for you. You have a dirty thankless job, but somebody has to get out there and try new boats and explore new waters.
The ozarks and the current river. A best kept secret indeed.
Your paddle locked cool in the cave. Nice video 📹
The Current is on my list for sure. Thanks for covering it! Also really curious about that Targa 100, can't wait for the review.
I would love to see you do an overnight camping trip on the current! I love your videos, can't wait to see what else you have in store!
@@baileykelley6578 I would love to as well! The current, Buffalo and a few other ozark rivers are on my short list
@@GatewoodBrown I will be on the lookout for all those videos!
@@baileykelley6578 yes! Probably need til the end of 2023 to visit and film everything. So many fun rivers to check out
So cool! Loved that cave.
I once canoed down the river where Bagnal dam is, wow was the water beautiful. I need to come back to my home state, you guys are making me miss it!

The Current is a great waterway! Missouri is underrated for kayaking. Plus it's the cave state which you discovered.

Have fun!
I just saw Marty Byrde!
Welcome to MO and the Ozarks. We kayak in SW MO another beautiful area you should check out

Did you dubb in the bald eagle screech? I swear, I heard that same eagle screech before lol. Are you touring the USA? Where are you going next?
Ha! Yes... that was added after the fact. :) I'm back in Canada now... enjoying some high water runs on the Ottawa River!
@@PaddleTV would love to see that too cheers
Did you spot Marty Byrde or Wendy Byrde? Or maybe their kids? :)
I was looking! :)

Ha! No snakes on our trip. It was a cool and overcast spring day.
It sure does suck ;-)
