Great to see you out again Stewart and such a peaceful place. Love the little Lapwing chicks and thought I heard the Curlew in the background. Cheers Keith

Thanks Keith, it is a wonderful place indeed. We did see Curlew but it was always below the skyline, in the distance and difficult to pick out, maybe next time. I have been out a fair bit and have a few films shot, but with so many bird boxes to check and ringing chicks it’s been finding the time to edit. Cheers.

Glorious glorious glorious. Man, I love a sessile oak wood - just the dynamics of the tree's themselves are a visual delight. I always think the light within a fully leaved sessile is so much more ethereal/magical than a full broad-leaved deciduous. What a sublime morning. With it's steep rises and gorge it reminds me of Yarner Wood in East Dartmoor - again sessile. Was there for a few hours a couple weeks ago for early(ish) Pied and a hope for Wood Warbler. Pied came through, Wood sadly not (again). I must head this way more, I must - something for the new year. Such a good end to my day, thanks Stewart, wonderful stuff and brilliant edit - oh, and what is Lynn carrying in that bag?! Looks like a full picnic! Very nice :) Cheers, Si.

Thanks Simon, There are certain parts of the wood where the light stops you in your tracks. One of the best things about this spot & is why I go back so often is I very rarely see anyone else. I can have it to myself for hours. Every time I visit I pray that I will see or hear Wood Warbler, but sadly no sign of for 4-5 years. As for Lynne's bag, yes sandwiches & hot coffee. 2 more films to come from here, ringing Pied Flycatcher & enjoying the parachuting Tree Pipits.

Hi Stewart, what camera do you generally use? And with what lens.

Hi John, thanks for watching. I use a Nikon D850 with Nikon 70-400 f4.5-6.3 lens for photos. For video I use the same lens but with a 2x adaptor and a Nikon Z6ii. Vloging camera is a DJI Osmo.
