- Our visit to Salisbury Camping and Caravanning Club Site
Salisbury is a historic city located in Wiltshire, England. It is known for its stunning medieval cathedral, which is home to one of the four original copies of the Magna Carta. The cathedral is a must-visit attraction and is considered one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in the world.
Aside from the cathedral, there are plenty of other things to see and do in Salisbury. The city is full of charming streets lined with timber-framed houses and has a vibrant market square. You can also visit the Salisbury Museum, which has exhibits on local history and the archaeology of Stonehenge.
In addition, Salisbury is located near a number of other notable landmarks, such as Stonehenge and Old Sarum, a medieval fortification with great views of the surrounding countryside. The city is also surrounded by natural beauty, with the New Forest and Cranborne Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty just a short drive away.
The campsite itself it very well maintained, it has 2 facilities blocks and 3 water points around the site. There is very little shade to be had if the weather is like it was when we were there so you need to create your own if you require shade.
However the wardens are a very friendly bunch and were very welcoming on arrival. Speaking of arrival, when you arrive the wardens will greet you and take you to your pitch however if you have any special requests they will do their best to help.
All in all the area is worth visiting, there are some great historic sites to visit, for us it was just a little too hot to get out and about during the day as Abbey does not deal with the heat very well.

Welcome to our Salisbury vlog We hope you enjoy watching, Salisbury was lovely and we had a great time there and met up with Chaotic Campervanners which was absolutely fantastic (one of our Vanother Collective members). Unfortunately we did not do everything we wanted due to the heat, it was more important to keep Abbey cool as a dog does not deal with 30deg temperatures very well as don't we either. We had a great time despite it being way too hot for Abbey. We loved meeting you and can't wait for another meet up at some point. Our second week was a little cooler but today at home it has been 30 again way too much but tomorrow is looking better. 🥰
