Good reaction….l loved it until the last two episodes. But one thing I don’t understand you two kept bringing up. Why did you all think Bran could see the future? He could see thru the raven and see the present and he could go back and see the past but never once in the entire run of the show did they ever say he can see the future. 🤷🏼‍♂️. Anyway loved the reactions and trust me…you will LOVE House of the Dragon 🐉.

This should have ended with a trial by combat between Jon and Grubworm, Jon sparing Grubworm's life, and Jon having the choice to lead the 6 or leave to the North in exile.

@@bgelback69 Because in the books, everything may be on Time Loop. 3EC is the Lord of Fire playing with time to get the future outcome he is looking for. So it looks like he can predict the future when he can't or he knows from other Ravens who made alternate decisions what one path chooses over another. It's a theory by David Lightbringer and some others.

In my opinion, despite this shitty end, GoT was the best show ever, when this show was on air, it's gathered people in small villages, in pubs in the big cities, familes gathered for the diffusion, fans elaborate theories and became friends etc...... Never a show did that and it will never happen again .....
House of the Dragons is good, but we know all the story, who die when he died, how he died even where he's buried.
Dialogues are good but not enough.....
Dragons are fine but it's too much, dragon time all the tme....

The best thing about this ending is Tormund getting to spend the rest of his life with "His little crow" lol. In my mind, they are definitely going to be a couple of Kings beyond the wall now. And Bran was like "yo, if I let this million or so people die, I'll be king, cool, I will totally do that". And all this mystery of Jon's heritage? Doesn't even matter in the end. What a joke. Also, It feels so wrong that the Starks in the end are all separated. They were apart for most of the show and their objective was to reunite, but alas, they literally ended up in different ends of the world!! I feel like Arya for sure would prefer to stay by Sansa's side as her protector, but nooo. Their mother would be soo pissed. Also, fun fact from the book, The Isle of Narth has these native poisonous butterflies that kill everyone who isn't native to the island, so Greyworm and his crew are sailing off to their demise lol.

The reason Sansa being queen of the north is a win is because they'd just talked about how Bran can't father children, so future rulers of the grouping of kingdoms will be chosen (and presumably people will still seek power and uprisings). Sansa might have been ok with being in the seven kingdoms under BRAN, but she's not going to risk the north being under a non-Stark ruler in the distant future after they're both dead -- she wants to keep the Starks in charge of the north indefinitely. And I think the northerners would be grateful for that and love her for de-tangling them from the south.

Equally bad writing: Sansa and Arya having a moment about how "the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives", but in this ep all the Starks go different ways. Also Arya says no one knows what's east of Easteros, while she was standing right next to Bran, who'd presumably know!

Jon imo had the best ending, hes finally free...he never wanted a crown or leadership. Hes finally free with his people in the true north, as you can see when they leave the wall and ride back north free. And you assume Sansa wanted to be a independent kingdom out of ego and selfish reasons, She wanted the north and its PEOPLE to be free of the tyrants of the south like they were for thousands of years.

Also, one nice thing with Sansa…she begged her parents to let her go to King’s Landing so she could marry Joffrey and be queen. She had some romanticized, fairy tale version of life that she has learned doesn’t exist. Then, she is married off to Ramsey to get power in The North, only to be raped and tortured. They get Winterfell back and people name her brother king, only for him to forfeit his power to Dany (for good reasons, but still understandably upsetting). In the end, she becomes queen without a man. I was mat about it at first, but rewatching the whole show a couple of times since, I really appreciate that Sansa learned and ended up on top. The ending is definitely bittersweet….rewatching made it click way better than in my first watch, and I now really like the ending. I am so sick of people thinking the absolute worst of Sansa. The North declared independence all the way back in season 1 when the made Robb king in the North. The northern people have ALWAYS wanted to be independent, Sansa was looking out for her people’s interests.
Also she declared the north independent BEFORE the group decided to send Jon back to the Wall so really Sansa was trying to get the North back FOR JON, so y’all can fuck off with “she only cared about being Queen”. Sorry but that was Daenerys, not Sansa.
Sansa is the reason everyone was fed at Winterfell, Sansa is the reason everything stayed together when Jon left for Dragonstone, hell SANSA is the reason they got Winterfell back in the first place. It is weird that people walk away with this idea that Sansa was after power when everytime she got any power she tried to give it away. But I think this idea is more because the other characters accused Sansa of this, so the audience starts to believe it as well. They don't see or forget that Sansa suffered along with the North. Everytime Robb won a battle she was beaten. She was sold and violated. She originally wanted to be queen, but not the Ruler. Her dream was always a husband who she would support beside. But she learned what being subservient to another truly means. Sansa suffering represents the north and its people struggles. She is the only Stark who truly fought for her people and their wishes.

Her whole story arc was going from kingdom to kingdom learning the game and she had familial connections/personal bonds to over half of them (a stark from the north, tully blood, married a lannister, with bronn loyal to one and assigned the reach, yara & the greyjoys would've honored it for theon, etc). Regardless of what we've seen Bran do, there was really no reason for the lords to have allegiance to some unknown kid they mostly have never met. There's a reason before historical successions usually the heir is highly visible and did PR basically. This was a dumpsterfire of an ending.

First, let me say that I have thoroughly enjoyed watching your reaction vids for GOT. You have made me laugh at least a couple of times in every video. I agree with most of your criticisms and assessments of the characters and the show. However, I'm a bit confused when it comes to your views on the Jon and Sansa's endings. Jon could never be King of Westeros because he murdered the would-be queen. The other Lords did not know he was a Targaryan and the "rightful heir"...and I suspect that after what Dany did to that city, they would never want another Targaryan on the throne. In addition, Jon said more times than necessary that he did not want the throne, and considering how he handled being King in the North, I'd say it was just as well that he never got the opportunity. Jon was happiest when he was with the Wildlings, and the fact that he ended up back in the North and back with the free folk gives Jon the happy ending he probably would have wanted...even if the Jon groupies didn't like it.
As far as Sansa, I didn't see her as the power-hungry person who wanted to be queen. In fact, there were three other women who fit that description perfectly: Cersei, Margaery, and of course, Dany. And unlike any of them, Sansa was the least self-serving. In fact, everything she did once she escaped from Ramsey was to help her family, Winterfell, and the North. Sansa may have started out as a brat who wanted to be queen, but that ended the minute Joffrey cut off her father's head. Never again did I hear Sansa utter one word about wanting to be a princess or a queen. And in fact, when Jon was invited to Dragonstone to 'bend the knee' to Dany, Sansa did not want him to go. She didn't trust the invite and suggested he send an envoy. And while he was gone, the Lords of the North told Sansa that perhaps they should have chosen her as their leader. She immediately defended Jon and assured them that he was doing his best for the North. In both those instances, Sansa had a golden opportunity to take the title for herself, but she did not. She lead and protected the people, prepared the North for the war ahead, and ultimately (though regrettably) handed the reins to Dany. So I'm not sure where this disdain for her comes from.

Not to mention having Jon succeed would bring the realm back under Targaryen rule, the house that built the wheel in the first place and Jon had no right to the North, he is not a Stark, imo he never should have been named KotN but thats another story....

Everyone is to invested in these characters they cant take a step back and see how john killed the queen, doesnt matter if he was the heir. Greyworm, was hurt yes, but he wanted what would actually happen to people who betrayed and killed a queen. People like john and tyrion, as do i, so dont wont to see them punished but they did deserve it.
Bran can see all, now, then and after, nobody would make a better king than a king that can see dangers before it was even a thought.
People dont like the end because they dont like what happened to their favorite characters, but in reality john and tyrion should be dead but they are alive because they made bran king

"Bran can see all, now, then and after, nobody would make a better king than a king that can see dangers before it was even a thought."
It would make sense ... if he wouldn't have said in a previous episode, that "he can't be lord of anything" ...
When I watched the final episode for the first time, I was heavily confused why he'd say "Why do you think I came here?", because I still clearly remembered him saying, he is not going to be a ruler of anything ... that's makes it stupid ...
Without that remark, of him denying lordship, that would make a lot more sense.
      ...
I like the short fan cut, where it just shows Bran to have blue eyes in the end, which implies the Night King took over his body during the battle of winterfell and now the Seven/Six kingdoms are ruled by the Night King ... makes for a much better ending than Brandon "I'm not going to be lord of anything" Lord of the Seven/Six Kingdoms who's name is Stark ...

  • @SerbAtheist

Why are you so insistent for Jon to be king? There are so many reasons why he didn't become one:
    1) He COULDN'T be king. He was a prisoner and the first order of business for a king would have been to determine his fate. Suggesting Jon as king would have essentially been taken by GW as a complete insult and the one chance to finally bring peace to the ream and not suffer yet another devastating war would have been over.
    2) He is a TARG! You know, the dynasty with countless mad kings and queens, one of whom just committed genocide upon the people of KL. Was there anyone in Westeros clamoring for more of THAT? Even Dany's supposed allies did it more out of hating Cersei than anything else. The Targaryens no longer have any real power base in Westeros. Dany was the last smoldering ember of a dying fire.
    3) Jon is NOT a good fit for a ruler! He is not a politician. He will do the right thing at any cost, but sometimes the cost is more than the realm can objectively pay, not to mention it's a great way to immediately gain countless enemies. Part of being a ruler is keeping as many people as possible happy. Was sending Jon to the Wall just? Of course not, but Bran saw that this was an acceptable compromise that could finally end the civil war in Westeros and save countless lives. These are the kind of decisions you sometimes have to make as a ruler and Jon manifestly is not able to do such a thing. Going against his honor to kill Dany was already more than enough for him to swallow.
    4) Finally, on a thematical level, is the point of the show that people should do good deeds to get rewarded? Because that is what everyone wanted out of Jon's story! But that is not the point of the story, which is that sometimes doing the right thing comes at immense personal sacrifice. Like I said before countless times, people who were looking for cheap wish fulfillment really came to the wrong show.

Sansa didnt do it just to be Queen as in the monarch with power but as the political representative of her people. She watched the Northpeople make Jon King of the North meaning that they wanted their own ruler, then he left to sell the North out to a foreign ruler, she knew they wanted independence and didnt care anymore about being ruled by someone sitting in the south.

I looked at the ending as the Starks taking over. Bran is king of the six kingdoms ( him being the three-eyed raven means he will be able to tell if someone is lying to him by seeing things, emotions will not rule him like they did others), Sansa got to be a queen like she always wanted and at the same time brings freedom to her people. Arya is setting out to explore new places and I literally see Jon Snow’s glance back at the wall as the gate closes as confirmation that he’s leading the wildlings to a new home and he will end up as King beyond the wall. He belongs in the REAL north. I know people won’t agree with me and that’s expected. Nobody agrees with everyone. Just my opinion. And rewatching the series multiple times, I’m fine with the ending. Probably one of the few who is.

Totally with you! Bran needed to be King, because he is the only one not ruled by emotion and/or ego and will be able to make neutral and peacekeeping decisions. Jon would slowly die inside if he would have been king, he didn't want it, his heart and home lies in the North, the true North. Arya needs her freedom, she is doing what she really wants, good for her! And Sansa ist the only possible option left to be queen of the North.
I am fine with the ending. Why getting upset that Jon isn't King, if you know, that this is the last thing he wants and never wanted? Let him be free and live his life the way he always wanted.

A few thing. First, comedy: Drogon looked at Jon and said, "You're lucky your my cousin." Then proceeded to melt the Iron Throne into a wheelchair ramp for Bran. Now, the grievances: "Who has a better story than Bran the Broken?" Literally like everyone else at the meeting apart from Edmure! Hell, Tyrion has a better story than Bran! Also, we have to send Jon away because not punishing him would start a war with the Unsullied. The unsullied then proceed to leave esteros for Naath, so why couldn't Jon stay?
