"He cums radiation" is most likely a reference to nuclear familys. The normal album has themes of the idealistic American dream and its ties to the nuclear family. The nuclear family being the idea that you should have a wife and you children, were you able to procreate twice you would create a "nuclear family". This ties into "he cums radioation" as his 'radioactive' seed created this nuclear family. May not have worded it the best but that's how I see how it

i've known Will Wood for quite some time already, but it took me some time to listen to the normal album. idk how to explain that, but i,,, really hated it at first? was so used to Will's fast and crazy songs, that some of the flower ones really didn't vibe with me. but after giving the album another chance, i just fell in love. my personal favorite is i / me / myself. many people think it has transphobic undertones, while i (a trans guy, who used to identify as nonbinary) has never really seen that until someone pointed it out. i just saw, and still see, this song as a gender crisis song lol. i get why some poeple might think it's transphobic, especially with the "all identities are equally invalid, dont you think there's a way that you can live without it?" lines at the end, but given the context of the entire song,,, it's really fitting. Will used to identify as nonbinary for some time, until he realized that liking traditionally feminine things doesn't make him any less of a man and that he's cis, and there's nothing i can respect more. it breaks my heart to know that some of my trans siblings did actually attack him and called him transphobic or accused of faking being nb for clout. i get their anger (esp bc many people actually do fake being trans/nb or comes out as a joke) and maybe disappointment that some musican they liked isn't like them, but that's really not the way,,, i'd trust a cis person who had a gender crisis and discovered they're truly cis more, than a trans person who questions and invalidates someone's gender. i really vibe with that song, because i also like some traditionally feminine things and don't feel any less of a man because of that!!
I found him originally through BlackBoxWarrior, but didn’t really think much of him before Cotard’s Solution. That song was the song that got me into him and is STILL my favorite to this day.
Marsha Thankk You is one of my favorite songs of all time too, I did the "ain't your you-dentity at stake" section for a performance for one of my classes aaaaa I also performed the dialogue section of BlackBoxWarrior after rehearsing constantly for like... Four months everyday. It KILLED me.
I got into will wood about 2 months before The Normal Album dropped and let me tell you how ridiculously hyped I was for it to come out!! Will has just this incredible talent for mixing genres and I’m always blown away by how good everything sounds. He’s truly one of my all time favorite artists!
dude around 15:20 I was like "wow this music is a bop, it sounds so familiar though, where did I hear it" and then it slapped me in the face and you brought back a repressed fandom memory. good music taste but also how dare you make me re-experience homestuck edit: YOU'RE ALSO INTO DREAM SMP WHAT THE FUCK WHY ARE SO MANY DSMP FANS ALSO HOMESTUCKS
YES YES MORE PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW ABOUT WILL WOOD, I’ve literally listened to all his songs like a million times each and it’s still fresh and it still hits hard. Will Wood is one of the coolest people in the world whether he knows it or not.
I don't know how youtube decided Will Wood was someone I needed to listen to but I'm so glad it did cause the Normally album is now my favourite album of all time and I've been listening to the full album stream on repeat anytime I want music in the background for weeks now. Every. Song. Slaps. How did he do that, it's incredible.
If you enjoy will wood, I’d recommend listening to lemon demon! He’s a bit more popular due to the rise of ranboo and his connection to him, but, Lemon demon is an almost more tame version of will wood! My favourite song by him is redesign your logo, which focuses on some pages released by Pepsi that goes into too much detail about their logo; even going into things such as the geo-magnetism and what smiles would look like on the logo. But he’s super talented and I’d definitely recommend him :)
YES SOMEONE GETS IT! REDESIGN YOUR LOGO IS A BANGER AND MY FAVORITE TOO (also i was a fan of him before i was a fan of ranboo so it's funny seeing them become associated with each other lmao)
I love lemon demon and will wood equally. also, just to correct you, lemon demon was popular before ranboo. he first got popular around 2005 (i think. correct me if Im wrong) with the song; The Ultimate Showdown Of Ultimate Destiny on newgrounds.
Glad to see someone else really likes '...well better than the alternative' and 'outliars and hyppocrites: a fun fact about apples', theyre both really good songs
Everything is on point, including the straight facts about being introduced via Tally Hall. I got introduced backk in May of 2020, went from "Ruler of Everything" on MMMM to "Hand Me My Shovel, I'm Going In!" on Self-ish. "... well, better than the alternative" on Normal album is so extremely good, all of the songs are, but I DEFINITELY agree with you that "Marsha, Thank You for the Dialectics, But I Need You to Leave" is one of the best songs ever written. I only wish that you'd include lyrics when you're playing sections of music, Will Wood sings heckkin' fast at some points. Anyways, you earned a likke and a subscribe from me fam.
ive been vibing to this album since it came out, i love every song on it and they all hit so good, and even his older music hits me right in the groove and feels, especially chemical over reaction
I was introduced to Will Wood by a bunch of my friends so when I discovered that him and his music were not, in fact, well known, even in the alt/punk community I try to surround myself with, I was very surprised. Now trying to convert people into liking Will Wood as they rightfully should! Top Teir video, and I highly reccomend Skeleton Appreciation Day in New Vestal.
as a tally hall fan as well I found Will wood through Spotify recommendations. I think the first song I heard was suburbia overture and now I’m obsessed with his work haha
The main connection that I found like instantly between Love Me, Normally and Love, Me Normally is the iconic music line you hear in the chorus, like the saxophone solo the song is known for. It's much more present in Love, Me Normally, but it's very clearly played by a piano to sound softer/less aggressive in Love Me, Normally, almost like it's... I wanna say foreboding, which feels right but also doesn't. It feels like a warning that doesn't look like a warning until the thing is there and you're like "Oh shit, the thing" I dunno if any of this is right, if I'm off, please correct me-
So happy to see someone talking about Will Wood! I heard was Mr. Capgras Encounters a Secondhand Vanity and I’ve been hyperfixated on his music since then. Glad to know a portion of the rest of the world has been too
Laplace's Angel is such an important song to me. At least based on my subjective interpretation of it, it perfectly captures the feeling of trying to come to terms with the terrible things you've done and trying to justify it to yourself as you having no other choice as a result of trauma and/or mental illness. Just really getting caught up in that loop of self justification to avoid guilt, that you gotta get out of before you can grow as a person.
This is awesome I love seeing people talk about will wood. Would you possibly ever do something like this for his album self-ish? It's one of my favorites and the music video for hand me my shovel, I'm going in is by far the coolest. The album does deal with a lot of themes of identity and also psychedelics.
i do love selfish, but i dont plan on touching on will wood again. no matter how much heart i put into it i feel it it feel cash-grabby and like im only doing it for the clout, as this is by far my best performing video. unless something big happens I'm not revisiting the good sir will wood
@@confusedNarrator I understand. Honestly I just got excited to see more people introduced to his music. He’s one of my favorite artists and I listen to his music nonstop.
I Think I can best describe Will Wood and his wonderful works as anthems for the mad. Whether you have, are, or will be suffering from anything mental, Will has somehow made those feelings into a song. If I had to choose words for a description of him... It's a Mad Genius Singing From Experience.

Was waiting for a Will Wood review for a long time, glad to have found this. Suburbia Overture is the biggest highlight for me, one of my favorite songs of all time. Marsha is a second for me
The radiation line is a rather clever reference to the nuclear family. The album draws parallels to midcentury America and its desire for normalcy, conformity, and materialism to Wood's journey with his mental health. It's why you get references to events like the rise of Suburbia and the nuclear family, MK-Ultra, and the musical themes like disco and rock-and-roll. Marsha[...] ties those themes together with the "back in my day" lines.

So have I, got the brainrot :):
i've known Will Wood for quite some time already, but it took me some time to listen to the normal album. idk how to explain that, but i,,, really hated it at first? was so used to Will's fast and crazy songs, that some of the flower ones really didn't vibe with me. but after giving the album another chance, i just fell in love. my personal favorite is i / me / myself. many people think it has transphobic undertones, while i (a trans guy, who used to identify as nonbinary) has never really seen that until someone pointed it out. i just saw, and still see, this song as a gender crisis song lol. i get why some poeple might think it's transphobic, especially with the "all identities are equally invalid, dont you think there's a way that you can live without it?" lines at the end, but given the context of the entire song,,, it's really fitting.
Man leaving over minute of dead air at the end of the video, few things more Will Wood than that
I don’t know if the intro was a nod to Love, Me Normally, but if it isn’t it’s a funny coincidence
I found him originally through BlackBoxWarrior, but didn’t really think much of him before Cotard’s Solution.
That song was the song that got me into him and is STILL my favorite to this day.
Marsha Thankk You is one of my favorite songs of all time too, I did the "ain't your you-dentity at stake" section for a performance for one of my classes aaaaa
I also performed the dialogue section of BlackBoxWarrior after rehearsing constantly for like...
PLEASE do a analysis video like this one on “In Case I Make It,” Wills newest album. I really love it and it’s right up there with The Normal Album.
dude around 15:20 I was like "wow this music is a bop, it sounds so familiar though, where did I hear it" and then it slapped me in the face and you brought back a repressed fandom memory. good music taste but also how dare you make me re-experience homestuck
edit: YOU'RE ALSO INTO DREAM SMP WHAT THE FUCK WHY ARE SO MANY DSMP FANS ALSO HOMESTUCKS
YES YES MORE PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW ABOUT WILL WOOD, I’ve literally listened to all his songs like a million times each and it’s still fresh and it still hits hard. Will Wood is one of the coolest people in the world whether he knows it or not.
Will Wood has a K related typing quirk. Can’t you spot a homestuck when you see one?😊
11:17 dude that part ending without the rest is so painful wtfff lmaoo
I don't know how youtube decided Will Wood was someone I needed to listen to but I'm so glad it did cause the Normally album is now my favourite album of all time and I've been listening to the full album stream on repeat anytime I want music in the background for weeks now. Every. Song. Slaps. How did he do that, it's incredible.
eridan,,
If you enjoy will wood, I’d recommend listening to lemon demon!
I found will wood through lemon demon they're both amazing
YES SOMEONE GETS IT! REDESIGN YOUR LOGO IS A BANGER AND MY FAVORITE TOO (also i was a fan of him before i was a fan of ranboo so it's funny seeing them become associated with each other lmao)
my favorite song by lemon demon right now is Indie Cindy & The Lullabies!! i love lemon demon
I love lemon demon and will wood equally. also, just to correct you, lemon demon was popular before ranboo. he first got popular around 2005 (i think. correct me if Im wrong) with the song; The Ultimate Showdown Of Ultimate Destiny on newgrounds.
indeed. i have listened to spirit phone like 8 times now
Glad to see someone else really likes '...well better than the alternative' and 'outliars and hyppocrites: a fun fact about apples', theyre both really good songs
Memento Mori gave me an existential crisis and then immediately cured it
Everything is on point, including the straight facts about being introduced via Tally Hall.
I definitely recommend you reviewing Self-Ish next! Great video btw!
I was introduced to Will Wood by a bunch of my friends so when I discovered that him and his music were not, in fact, well known, even in the alt/punk community I try to surround myself with, I was very surprised. Now trying to convert people into liking Will Wood as they rightfully should! Top Teir video, and I highly reccomend Skeleton Appreciation Day in New Vestal.
i mention that skeletal appreciation is actually my fave in that album in my other ww video!
I got absolutely obsessed with love me normally
Then memento mori
This album is addicting
14:39 I've never related to a statement more
as a tally hall fan as well I found Will wood through Spotify recommendations. I think the first song I heard was suburbia overture and now I’m obsessed with his work haha
Im obsessed whit his songs. I've been listening to "the song whit five names" everyday for the last month
15:27 Those are his significant other’s pet rats; Oyster boy, Strange boy, and Bert.
I really enjoyed hearing you talk about my favorite album
When I realized Homestuck music was playing in the background, I panicked a bit lol
I want it on vinyl so bad. Someone told me this is the Wanda vision of albums and idk how I feel about that
The main connection that I found like instantly between Love Me, Normally and Love, Me Normally is the iconic music line you hear in the chorus, like the saxophone solo the song is known for. It's much more present in Love, Me Normally, but it's very clearly played by a piano to sound softer/less aggressive in Love Me, Normally, almost like it's... I wanna say foreboding, which feels right but also doesn't. It feels like a warning that doesn't look like a warning until the thing is there and you're like "Oh shit, the thing"
I dunno if any of this is right, if I'm off, please correct me-
So happy to see someone talking about Will Wood! I heard was Mr. Capgras Encounters a Secondhand Vanity and I’ve been hyperfixated on his music since then. Glad to know a portion of the rest of the world has been too
Found it funny as hell that I found him after binging tally hall and then found you through the same way TH-cam has a pretty good algorithm lol
An extremely underrated TH-camr talking about an extremely underrated musician...
"Take it away, ham" -William Woodson and the parasites
Woodrow wilson and the worm tapes
Laplace's Angel is such an important song to me. At least based on my subjective interpretation of it, it perfectly captures the feeling of trying to come to terms with the terrible things you've done and trying to justify it to yourself as you having no other choice as a result of trauma and/or mental illness. Just really getting caught up in that loop of self justification to avoid guilt, that you gotta get out of before you can grow as a person.
i read 2econd-2ight-2eer as Thecond Thight Theer like youre saying it with a lisp but only because i read homestuck
you ANGER ME SIR. WHY DO U CUT OFF THE SONGS AT THE BEST MOMENTS
Awesome takes
@@confusedNarrator top 10 replies made before a completely changed opinion
thankk you for saying outloud somesthing i had for months
now listen to self-ish and cry will's name remind our brains of this album's identity
I love this album so much and I love your review of it!!! Love seeing people who also appreciate great things
DNC CJDNFBFK YOU REALLY CAUGHT ME OFF GUARD THERE WITH THE FUCJINF DAVE STRIDER PESTERQUEST THEME OH MY GOG DJFBDJD
I Think I can best describe Will Wood and his wonderful works as anthems for the mad. Whether you have, are, or will be suffering from anything mental, Will has somehow made those feelings into a song. If I had to choose words for a description of him... It's a Mad Genius Singing From Experience.
I love this video so much! I’ve been listening to the normal album nonstop since it’s release and I’m so glad more people are appreciating will Wood!!
Listening to this video in the background while working. Didn't expect to be hit with Dave's PQ theme at 12:05 and had some whiplash. Also, insert obvious 2econd 2ight 2eer joke here and all that.
One thing I love though not from this album is the carry over from songs like how Dr. Sunshine is Dead flows into Cotard's Solution, and Hand Me My Shovel is heard again in The Song With Five Names
FINALLY. Someone talks about him!
the normal album is by far my favorite album and will wood is defiantly my favorite artist. his songs have a chaotic, yet comforting vibe to them and i love it so much!
MARSHA THANKK YOU FOR THE DIALECTICS IS LITERALLY MY FAVORITE SONG IM SO GLAD YOU LIKE IT
its funny that youtube recommended me this AFTER i listened to every song on the normal album
Was waiting for a Will Wood review for a long time, glad to have found this. Suburbia Overture is the biggest highlight for me, one of my favorite songs of all time. Marsha is a second for me
been a will wood fan for well over a year now and i never noticed the difference between “love me, normally” and “love, me normally” haha
well better than the alternative makes me unleash secret emotions™ and i will never shut up about how much i love that song
I’ve been listening to Will for a couple years now, I am so glad that his is starting to pick up more of an audience. His music is absolutely amazing.
He actually had a band before which was called will wood and the tapeworms
I found him when making a Playlist in a mental breakdown, it's been 3 months
Will wood appreciation y’all!
wow i didn't realize this video was yours!!! he is my new obsession, he deserves more!
This is a lovely video
But is that Dave Striders pesterquest theme playing in the background?-
2econd-2ight-2eer i2 ju2t will 2howing u2 hi2 typing quirk :|
@@smthwha8463 Marsha, Thankk You for the Dialectics, But I Need You to Leave
too
will wood homestuck???????????/
confirmed????????????????????????//
i love this video sm omg!!! first of all the fact i knew the EXACT lyric you were talking about in suburbia overture before you even said it tho 😭also i think you chose a really good song as your favorite like mmm i love that one so much but my favorites are probably 222 and laplaces angel, i really like 222 just for how chaotic and catchy it is and i honestly can't describe why i love laplaces angel so much it's just like WOW????
I'M SO NORMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
