Gary lends a ton of cred to Larry as far as the next generation because Payton is respected as one of the greatest defensive players of all time. He is that bridge between the old and new that is letting these young guys know that Larry was the real deal
63 year old old man here young man. And yes we love to watch the Birdman in action yes we old timers called him the Birdman. Just one point everyone, what other NBA player in the history of the NBA has made this big of an impact on so many Hall of Fame players that remember him. Think about that the memories of the Birdman are impressed into the fabric of these players careers. Love Birdman videos thank you
I love the videos, but I graduated high school in 1980. I saw it all specially when they started with the TV contract best ERA of basketball 80s-2000.. now unfortunately, it’s just the game of HORSE…. And whether the shooter makes it or not…. Where is the defense?
That whole dream team were old timers. Top of the crop Rookies trying to make a statement. None of those guys were a joke. Only serious injuries is why most of them weren't on top ten lists. Marbury, G.Hill, C Weber, Bobby Hurly and Rodney Rogers was a dream team too. Anyway, there was far more battles than just with Larry. Those old guys needed games from that before they took the court in the Olympics. They were all old except Christian Laettner. I'm sure there's more stories out there.
Remember, that game against Indiana. He broke his face. Saw double vision most of the game. Larry Bird is basketball. Complete and total dedication to it. The games seen some goats. But only one Legend. Sums Larry Bird up nicely. And I will put his skill set. Against ANY player. Past, present or future.
just so everyone understands how different the game is today... Larry Bird returned from a broken cheekbone and scored 27 points in a playoff game. ... Last week the NBA announced they reworked teams schedules so that they travel less, dont have as many long trips, and allow time for "load management " SMH 🤯 you hear that JJ REDICK? Pillsbury brother, players now, soft in the middle
Love these videos, this should say it all, when the basketball greats telling these folks just how unstoppable Larry really was in his day. One of my Favs is Eddie Johnson’s, he wasn’t in this one but the way Eddie tells it is hilarious. Eddie was on the Suns when Larry drains 3 and says I told ya so. Eddie was also on Hawks Bench getting fined for reacting to Larry’s unconscious 60.
I can appreciate that your video footage is 5x7, instead of the about 2x3, which some present, with the person doing the reacting, taking up the rest of the screen. Nice job.
The only thing that I could say that would hold Larry Bird back (aside from Larry Bird's back) would be how well does he take to the new training regimen the nutrition and is Magic the in the league? Hot dogs wedding cakes and beer are not going to cut it....... Zion Williamson?
@@brendawalters3728 The problem with bringing Bird's trash talk and mental warfare into today is that he would make so many of today's soft players cry, he's probably getting tossed a dozen times a season lol
I feel sorry for the young dudes today .. I witnessed all these old greats and they played with a flare and love for the game .. The Fucking Legend always showed up ready to play ...
The only reason I can think of when people question if hes still top ten is they havent seen him play. But, like it or not, there may be some darker reason. Or, maybe their cognitive function is running on fumes.
A little back story between bird and Kent Benson. Benson was at Indiana when bird went there before he went to Indiana state and he was a dick to bird. When McHale broke the Celtics scoring record Benson was guarding him most of the time and bird made sure he kept getting the ball on Benson to embarrass him
Speaking of Dee Brown, those Cs teams of the early 90s were pretty bad but I did love Dino Radja...He was my fav after Larry left. The Cs got robbed losing Len Bias and Reggie Lewis. I think that they would have got another ring if those guys didn't pass away
My all NBA team is made up of players of players from the 60s, 70s and 80s. I am old, 66, and saw all of these play. G - Jerry West G - Oscar Robertson F - Larry Bird F - Bill Russell C - Wilt Chamberlain With each in their Prime. I will put them against any team put together from 1990 to present. 2 of the all-time rebounders, Wilt and Bill 2 of the all-scorers, Wilt and Jerry And Mr. Triple-Double in the Big O And the best all-round player ever in Larry.
🙏4D❤RELL🙏🌳⌚🏀☝🤝🔐YA KNOW IT!
I just love to hear Gary Payton praise Larry…you can hear the respect 🫡

love your comments and delivery..
My #1 pick. Any team built around him will win.

Great video and reaction bro!. Stay Blessed...
Love your Bird reactions. I never get tired of watching Bird videos.
I don’t think I do either.

Funniest story is Rodney thinking he can trash talk Bird.
Broken back Bird was still better than most of NBA pros much less some college kid.

Your Larry Bird reactions are my favorite... Thank you my friend 👍
Magic: "Man... I'm sitting there watching him shoe shining" 😂
That "swish" sound.

The inbound pass steal Against Detroit was for the Eastern conference championship🥴👍☘️
the bank 3 ptr was against NYN and it was a bet with their trainer
and bird was on his way out against rodgers if he was in his prime it would of been way worse
Larry played the game using Bird time
I'm slumming tonight, not enough old Bird vids

One of the best guards ever and so much fun to watch

That Was A Great Video LOL 😃👍🇱🇷
Thank You Slum Stackman 😃👍🇱🇷
Basically if you wanna explain Bird to the Youngbloods today, take Curry, give him 8 inches, double his rebounds and you now have Larry Joe Bird
you have to also give him Birds ability to play hurt. his trash talking and Bird was better at defense as well.

I couldn't agree with you more@@Finnssssss
i could build a team around larry bird and shaq and dominate for 10 years.

they showed the wrong shot against portland, Brown was in high school with the shot they showed the real shot was in 91 or 92
