Not wanting to take anything away from that statement, but don’t fall for the trap of believing his a genius.
We all can achieve his stage, he simply has put years on learning and explaining the concepts he intertwines.
He has become a generalist that we can all one day be.
Geniuses are people like Einstein who we couldn’t be like even if we studied our entire life.
They are the ones who create new ways of looking at the world

What's more impressive than Dan's lack of emotional expression... his ability to communicate a wide-ranging spectrum of information. Love the channel man.

    • @tatewinters5565
      @tatewinters5565 10 วันที่ผ่านมา +6

Spectrum is right. After being in this sort of space for a while now ive come to suspect that most of us (consumers and creators in this sort of content) have many overlaps in what is known as adhd & autism.
Intellectual persuits being the over emphasized area of focus due to the natural consequences of such possible *mental/social* disorders.
In other words. Some to many here chase mental stimulation due to the lack of proper social stimulation

I can't believe in this coincidence, Dan. For perhaps last two weeks I've been going through a real battle within me in that exact topic. As a software engineer I could see a decline in my productivity and very depressive moods due to various "cheap dopamine" sources. I'm also a fitness enthusiast which helps me to break the cycle, and just few days ago I decided to take aggressive action to take back control - I deleted all TH-cam history, turned off "auto-play" and unsubscribed many channels to start "fresh", which is the curating you mentioned.
I also printed a calendar for next two months and I write down daily my deep-work hours. The message you are spreading is so important and I am so glad to see people trying to raise awareness on these topics.

Thank you for this important message and shining light on how chasing cheap dopamine hits affects us individually and can shape our collective future. It is concerning how quickly our brains adapt to these dopamine-driven algorithms, and it's so refreshing to hear someone advocate for meaningful learning and useful creative output, and you are a perfect example of it. Your message about being intentional creators rather than passive consumers really resonates. You're right - we either architect our own lives or let algorithms architect it for us. This reminder to curate content we're exposing ourselves so our society can continue evolving is so important, and I hope your video finds its way into the echo chambers of those who really need this message.

I think people now realized being chronically online is bad that's why we seeing digital camera, magazines and physical media slowly making a comeback especially among gen z.
On the other hand, being online now, we are bombarded with too many personal opinion and young people having hard times to differentiate something that applied to everyone or just your own personal experiences. That's why we felt overwhelming and more divided now. It's sad though.

I think assosciating matriarchy-patriarchy and other social shifts due to some objective darwinian traits is deep misunderstanding of how societies are build and who gains power and how they maintain it. Soscieties are not build due to objective arguments but rather due to policies that in most of the history prioritize the wealthy in control of the power.

Great messages! They remind me of the concept of the Aeons-Isis (c. 2400 BCE), Osiris (c. 2400 BCE - 1904 CE), and Horus (1904 - Present)-which outline humanity's evolution. The Aeon of Isis celebrated nature and the feminine (birth and growth), the Aeon of Osiris emphasized structure and sacrifice (patriarchy and cycles of life), and now the Aeon of Horus embodies individualism, innovation, and balance. It's fascinating how these stages align with personal and societal growth! I wonder if you considered them when writing this script.

I usually recommend Dan's content alongside other creators who provide value to my family, friends, colleagues, and other people I know. On my new channel (not this account, by the way), I would like to recommend my favourite creators, but at the same time, I am conscious that I want to create an audience organically and not throw names around. I do not wish to use other people's names to help the channel grow.
I am still trying to figure this out. Would creating a video praising my favourite creators be a mistake? If so, I will not make that type of video to recommend them.
Also, I am mindful that these incredible creators have personal brands to protect, and I would want to avoid getting in trouble.

Buying crypto and waiting for the price to shoot up is not the best way to invest in the market but buying and trading is. Sophia Haney’s trade signaIs does the heavy lifting, generating competitive returns for crypto traders and investors in the form of money and peace of mind. Time in the market vs. timing the market. One question that I would like to ask in part just to play devil's advocate is what is the purpose of meaning? What I mean is to what extent is it important that our pursuits have some sort of deeper meaning or profound important to ourselves and others? It is possible to live a "happy" life where you are just going through the motions or does one have to have a sense of meaning that drives them and defines their purpose?

I found your video very interesting; for the most part I agree about the points towards technology but some of your points towards historical aspects seem a little swayed. There is new evidence about hunter a gather societies.
A 2020 study published in Science Advances analyzed a 9,000-year-old burial in the Andes. The remains of a young woman were found alongside a hunter’s toolkit, challenging the idea that hunting was exclusively a male domain. Similar evidence has been uncovered in other parts of the world, suggesting women actively participated in hunting.
Ethnographic studies of contemporary hunter-gatherer societies, like the Hadza in Tanzania, show a more fluid division of labor, with women contributing to hunting in certain contexts and men participating in gathering (Wood & Marlowe, 2013).
The concept of rigid gender roles appears to be a cultural construct rather than a universal rule. In prehistoric societies, survival likely depended on flexibility and shared responsibilities, rather than strictly divided tasks.

Always great to have new perspectives. I love it when someone reinforces outside perspectives because it's like a daily reminder to not narrow our thinking, to focus on binomial distributions and not binomial dispositions! I almost got defensive and asked why you had to respond to the video like this, but you could be making a point with a few breadcrumbs; all I need to do is get my head out of potential echo chambers and search.
Thanks for _your_ insights. I wonder how it factors into the video, but nonetheless times have changed to a great extent with at least technological innovation and game theory.
What do you think this has to do with game-theory as described in this video, if you have the time on your hands? If you don't I'll keep this in mind when thinking about how far we've come.

@@internetscavanger6746 Hey, and thank you for the thoughtful reply. I do appreciate the opportunity to reflect on this. I was more curious myself, as these new findings about gender roles in ancient societies could connect to broader themes like game theory and the video's exploration.
From my perspective, game theory provides a useful lens to explore how societal roles evolve and adapt based on survival strategies and incentives. For example, if early humans operated in flexible, situational roles, it suggests that cooperative strategies often took precedence over rigid hierarchies in ensuring group survival. This aligns with a game-theoretic framework where mutual benefit can outweigh individual dominance in certain scenarios.
I think these findings challenge us to revisit assumptions about progress. If societal norms historically allowed for greater fluidity in roles based on context and necessity, it might suggest that rigid hierarchies, like those solidified during the agrarian era, weren’t inevitable. Perhaps understanding these dynamics can help us better navigate the systems we create today.
What's your thoughts? :) Do you see parallels, or did I just have too much energy drink and got over stimulated 😂

Social media addiction is real and it is so sad to see everybody staring at their phones, almost like a slot machine at a casino with random peoples post, opinions, outburst of enthusiasm/positivity or disgust/negativity. Our brains were not made with the cognitive capacity to taken all this infinite information not to mention that it's not even relevant to our lives or our future. The hours that people spend on social media will total years cumulatively. imagine all the things that could've done instead with their time and human potential and energy! I mean, what is gonna be sad about these people in their eulogy? That they spent most of their days scrolling, spectating, and consuming social media, only fans, video games, Instagram, and porn ?
It is really pathetic . Companies are ready to take advantage of that cheap dopamine, intermediate gratification. a lot of these people have other addictions to drugs, alcohol, and shopping online I guess
