Somewhere in France, lies a unique abandoned place. This abandoned French guest house, with traditional architecture inside, used to serve as an accommodation for many guests. Nowadays, the place is left deserted, as the past owner got imprisoned in 2006. We actually discovered the remnants of a weed firm on the same site. Come along with us on another adventure deep inside the rural parts of France.

I saw at least 3 horseshoes. 2 were upside. Where I was born it was always thought that an upside down horseshoe let all the good luck fall out! Great find Maureno 👍

Hi Maureno, the item at 7:11 is part of a horse harness called a collar, it was mainly used for ploughing. The part you called "pillars" of the banister are called spindles or balusters. A very beautiful place, it had so many little statues and trinkets everywhere all have a memory attached to them and I loved the layout too. What a shame he lost his business because of growing weed which I think should be made legal. Thank you for sharing this amazing place, much love. xx💖🤘🏼

Wow. What a mess. They either were hoarders and just trashed the place themselves or somebody went in and just threw stuff everywhere . Eiither scenario is very strange. That hidden bedroom reminded me of the Anne Frank house in Amsterdam. I went there 24 years ago on my 40th birthday for two weeks. My grandmother was from there. It was one of the most impactful experiences of my life. The Van Gogh Museum, the Rijksmuseum, the people, the food, the canals, it was absolutely amazing. I went by myself and even though I didn't speak a word of Dutch the people were so gracious. Most people spoke four languages. I speak English and French and we were all able to communicate. It was a wonderful thing. I will always love the Netherlands ♡

Such an interesting and unique place! The owner must have been sentenced to a long prison term. I can't imagine him getting out of prison and turning his back on such a lovely hostel. It's a shame it's been vandalized and looted; that makes my blood boil. It's senseless and stupid and argh! I can't stand thieves.
I often watch André Rieu on public television. I have fond memories of watching him and his orchestra with my Parents. Now I still watch his performances whenever a show is being rerun. He's a great violinist and he seems to have a keen sense of humour. It's not often you can see an orchestra dressed so elegantly.

Its Polynesian and it's actually from the 50-to late 60's. Its used for Salad and comes with a Salad Bowl, they probably or someone traveled to somewhere like Hawaii that is where my Grandparents bought theres. Those clothes were sixties for sure, I think these people were hoarders and the records were 60's. Very weird.
I'm know nothing about French police but in America, the entire place would have been sold. People selling drugs lose their homes, cars and everything else they own.
I hope to see weed made legal in all states soon.

I have read about that, how the police in America work. In Norway they don’t do that, like our cops don’t have guns on them(only when it have been much terror, then they have 3-4 weeks armed) I don’t know how they do in French either.
@@mks7445 in my opinion, the police have a right to take anything from anyone involved in selling drugs which kill our people and especially our youth. I'm not talking about weed.
My son is an addict. I wish I could hurt the first person who gave or sold him drugs. Now, it is his choice. Sad to say but I don't feel he will ever overcome his addiction.

It's so impressive when a lost place is as untouched as this dining room in this guest house. But the mess in the other rooms is so crazy. It would be nice if a new owner gave the building a new chance. It would be a shame to tear it down.

It's hard to believe it was only left less than 20 year ago! The decay, plant growth seem to have really set in. Also what an eclectic mix of treasures...
Including the homegrown weed! 😲.

Great job making the video of this amazing place. SO many things just left behind. I wonder what will happen to the property? It is (was) truly beautiful and needs to be preserved. I didn't think the sentence for growing weed was that long a time. I wonder is he still there?

The little hidden suite was very strange, did you ever find out why it was there? I wonder if it was a place for the owner to hide if the police were looking for him? 🤷🏻♀️
Leta, my first thought was that it was a hiding place. Mostly likely that person had been selling drugs a long time.
Look what it got them. Jailed and with a wonderful business rotting away.

Thank you so much for the complete tour of this home and grounds. Quite interesting and very unique. I love the way you show us so much. I am amazed at how many homes all over the world are just left as they were. Here in America, it is traditional for the family that is left behind to inherit everything. I just assumed it was always that way everywhere. You take care and enjoy your travels. You are receiving a lifetime of history.

You mentioned that you would show us a picture that was taken by previous explorers so we could see the grow room and what it looked like before it was vandalized? Did I miss seeing it somewhere in the video?
I really loved this explore. I laughed when you kept finding all the unopened wine. If the /french love drinking it so much, why didn't they take it when they were looting the place.
Here in Canada, it would be looted in this order, TV's and electronics, money, jewelry and then alcohol. lol
People who steals from homes makes me sick. no regard for any one not even the person who steals it makes my blood boil. I hate vandals.

One of the best exploration properties I have seen. Collectors would love to have those figurines. The history is just sitting there wasting away. Heartbreaking to see it in this stage of neglect. I wonder if there are photos of it back when it was a working hostel. I would love to see them. Well done and thanks for sharing. ❤🐨

hi Maureno.. what an impressive huge mansion.. It's so sad that lots of valuables left behind..That beads with a big crucifix is a giant holy rosary, which is being used for roman catholic while praying.

As Betty Davis would say, 😂”what a dump”, but you can tell this place used to be a lot of fun with very laid back atmosphere. I would guess that everyone who came brought a little gift or collectible. Cool outdoor pool, and outdoor dining even with coats for chill evenings. Sad the owners had no one to care for it during his absence. Thanks for the tour, watch out for those cobwebs/spiders❤

I guess these buildings were built in 19th century then the owners added these extensions....Regarding surfaces, it could have been a factory somehow back in early 1900's MAYBE.... !!! That was so awesome! You only showed one room.for the guest. Was that the only room and if not, were they locked or something? There had to be another way into that room with the small door unless they built the wall after they decorated the room. Any info on that? I love the curiosity but ughhhh... Lol!

I don’t understand why the government doesn’t bulldoze everything down if they don’t want to clean it up. At least someone else could use the land to rebuild and enjoy the beautiful countryside. I always get sick to my stomach every time when I constantly just see wasted life that could have been. Besides that, people have actually had somewhere to live away from the elements.❤️

Yes, I love the stone walls as well. Cozy. I like the wood beams as well. You would of thought the person who owns the place would have some friends who could keep an eye on his place. That pool and adjacent area must of been really beautiful. Nature is really taking hold there. I don't know why it is so necessary to trash places. Fascinating place. Great vid.
The best part of living in a stone manor its cool in the summer and warm in the winter, the stones are the reason. No need for air-conditioning and low, low heating bills.
The word architecture applies only to buildings.The word you are looking for is craftsmanship as applies to furniture. 😀
