Fantastic singing: ghastly production. Stop the tyranny of incompetent directors.

I am very surprised at the comments; is _this_ really the most appalling opera production you have ever seen? Really? Nothing provocative is being shown.
As for the music, this is one of the more underrated numbers from Nabucco! Great ensemble. Pure bel canto magic.

    Beautiful singing and awful staging.

This scene in particular was highly inappropriate. The production was not what most people expected considering the period of history & the lyrics are time period based during the Babylonian Empire and Nebuchadnezzar was King of Babylon and held the Hebrews enslaved. The singing by Saioa Hernandez was outstanding as usual she deserves a much better production. The baritone as well was very good. Arnold Bourbon Amaral

A disgrace to opera. The "modernistic" staging does injustice to the opera itself, to the composer, to the libretist, to the singers and to the viewers.
It is part of the world wide campaign against beauty. Absolutely horrible and just as disgusting.

I bet this was done in Germany. They always have these weirdo cheapo productions. But the voices are great.

Quelle mise en scène ridicule ! Dommage car les chanteurs sont supers ainsi que la direction d'orchestre.

there are no modern or ancient directions: there are valid ideas. and this show has an infinite number of them: magnificent stage direction which exalts Verdi's spirit and vivifies the contemporary power of his music and human ethics.

This is enough to resurrect Verdi & snatch those directors bald headed!!! If Verdi wanted this Masterpiece in a futuristic setting he would of stated it. They do these horrible productions to apease the masses who are ignorant of the greatest art form in the world.

@@arnoldamaral3814 Interesting question: should we care about what Verdi wanted? I mean: the man is dead isn't he?
