If you spoke Slovenian you would be multilingual. I'm Dutch, I speak 4 languages because our language is hard sounds funny we are small and no one gives a fuck about us. So its like either learn atleast English or stay inside a country that takes 2 hours to drive across. I think Slovenia is smaller than the Netherlands.

Its not a surprise having lived for such a long time here, but I can tell you that he's not only fluent: he sounds one hundred per cent spanish, like I couldn't tell if he is a spaniard of not if I didn't knew it beforehand, and yes, thats quite impresive even living in a country for 5 years. Also, Slovenian isn't part of the same family of spanish, which makes the process even harder, I mean its not like if he was portuguese or italian...

My point is that since mechanics and vocabulary are closer to one another, its probably to get to learn the language pretty easily, but, as you are saying, later on, when it comes to perfetionate it, probably being able to be understood easier makes them be les capable of get rid of some kind of mistakes where nobody is going to correct them because everybody gets what they are trying to say. Anyways, I know a little bit of italian, but I dont know a single thing about your mother tongue (I whish I knew), so, It can be that for some reason Slovenians are good at learning spanish, I dont know XD. The surprise here isn't that he knows spanish, it's how well he speaks it. He really sounds like a native Spanish speaker - he doesn't have a hint of a foreign accent, which is very rare for a non-spanish guy.

For all the people who are saying that he's lived in Spain long enough for him to speak Spanish, it's not that easy for him. He was only 13 though when he came to Spain he wasn't even Spanish nor he had Spanish blood and his Mother Tongue was Slovenian. So it's a good thing to see of a Slovenian speaking Spanish FLUENTLY.

As players from the US usually don't learn the language when they play in a foreign country it's no surprise to me that other people from the US are surprised when a non-US player learns the foreign language.
Here in Germany some US players play here for almost ten years and can't speak any German.
