It was better in Sonic Colors. Just my opinion, but they shouldn't have remixed this at all for Generations, considering Colors only came out a year before so the music didn't need to be "modernized" or anything.

I feel like this stage had the biggest changes not only in the design of it's original game, but also what made it fun in its original game. Which is a shame, because there were so many fun levels in Colors to choose from, especially in Aquarium Park and Asteroid Coaster, but they chose the safe, "iconic" one and made it worse.
Planet Wisp killed the speedy sections and instead placed a whole platforming factory which you have to painfully get to the top. What a way to wrap up all stages from Grean Hill to Rooftop Run.

Now that I think about it, the Wisp choices make sense. Spikes is an extension of the Spin Dash, and Rocket is basically a vertical version of the Boost.
i feel like Sonic Team forgot the entire ‘see stages in 3D like never before’ agenda the moment they hit planet wisp. 90% 2D, 10% 3D…just like colours.

To be honest, that wasn't really a sequel. Takashi Izuka said that those were like power-ups from the past. Also I should have said they need to be RELVANT TO THE STORY. The wisps were just unnecessary and the gameplay was soooooo different.

The factory part of this level sucks so much, and I think that's just fantastic design. Makes you imagine how fun a level that would be if Egg Man didn't fuck everything up. Kinda like factories destroying the very lush and beautiful world we live in :( Reflective as always

Oh boy! The 2nd half / factory part is like the Sonic games factory difficulty stages like Scrap Brain, Metropolis, Metallic Madness, Launch Base, Death Egg...you get the picture. Only thing different from them is that the scenery is kinda "bright / peaceful" compared to those I mentioned? It kinda throws you off this being the final stage without being so dire looking.
just got done playing this level again. it is the literal second worst stage I have ever played in a Sonic game. Eggman Land takes the cake from Unleashed, but Fuck if this isn't close.
So may moments to screw up, and the first run through or two can possibly take upwards to 18 minutes cause of bad platforming designs that hinder any attempt to go fast. And ROCKET! ROCKET! ROCKET!

Idk why most people hate this stage, it takes everything Colors did and does it MUCH better, though I do admit I only started liking this stage after playing Colors and saw how much Gens improved it
1: its in mostly 2D, (if they wanted a 2D modern level they should have made it all 2D.) 2: this level is incredibly slow paced. 3: this is the last zone in the game not counting bosses 4: this stage is possibly the most buggy. (Not counting the skills you can equip.) Theres a few others reasons but thats the main 4 that I hear. If you want better colours representation I recommend gens 3ds modern tropical resort.

I love Planet Wisp. Not my favorite of the game or in Colors, but it was good to see. Apart from the notoriously great first half, I think the factory section is good too. It's difficult but you cant expect the last level to be a cakewalk. It was fun going through the factory and it has visually good settings. My only complaint is with Rocket being the only Wisp you can use. It was cool but I think Some other ones or maybe swapping from the 3DS wisps would've worked too

This was definitely the hardest level in the game but to be fair, the original Planet Wisp was hard as well. I can agree that I wasn't a huge fan of the factory half of the level but I can forgive it because of that beautiful remix of the Planet Wisp theme
I wish they make a remake for Sonic Unleashed Colors and Generations for Nintendo Nx and also they need to bring back the Sonic Adventure saga that will be awesome ^_^

Outside area before you reach the facility and the quickstep is my favourite thing about this stage, I haven't play Colors yet but it's kind of a shame how the facility isn't as fun as the original from what I see
I think that the major issue that most people have with this stage is that it rewards players for waiting in a game about going fast. The stage could have been salvaged if it had some shortcuts that encouraged you to do some fast platforming or quick reflexes, or the buzzsaws and rockets were timed out better to reward the player with going fast in those sections. Also, the stage would have worked better visually if the factory elements were introduced in small quantities at first, then built up more gradually.

How many tries did it take before you got that perfect run. I've tried for ages but I can do it, unless its Green Hill Zone or Sky Sanctuary.
For me, only one run perfect run and I beat it no problem and got a S rank. Made it under 4 minutes

I do notice the factory breaks the momentum from the beginning... and looks like a maze if you don't know the layout
I wish they make a remake for Sonic Unleashed Colors and Generations for Nintendo Nx and also they need to bring back the Sonic Adventure saga that will be awesome ^_^

Oh,never mind.It took me 4 days but in the end I managed to get rank "А".But it wasn't as fast and cool as in this walkthrough.

Outside area before you reach the facility and the quickstep is my favourite thing about this stage, I haven't play Colors yet but it's kind of a shame how the facility isn't as fun as the original from what I see
You'll get to experience it for yourself in the new remaster

I think that the major issue that most people have with this stage is that it rewards players for waiting in a game about going fast. The stage could have been salvaged if it had some shortcuts that encouraged you to do some fast platforming or quick reflexes, or the buzzsaws and rockets were timed out better to reward the player with going fast in those sections.
Also, the stage would have worked better visually if the factory elements were introduced in small quantities at first, then built up more gradually.
