I'd do a blind comparison, with everything being equal to make any kind of statement on these.
I've heard several reviews on the Klipsch being very positive, and like someone else mentioned, these aren't really in the same price range, I would hope the JBL's sound better considering the cost increase.

Nice video but kinda pointless. It's like comparing a Mazda Miata to a Porsche 911. Both great cars but not really a fair comparison. JBL's do have the same driver and tweeter size but they pump out almost 3 times the watts per channel and cost almost 3 times as much. It's like asking if someone would rather live in a $200K house or a $600k house. Gee, let me think about it.

At $4500, the 4329P makes no sense. A pair of JBL LSR708Ps come in cheaper, and comes with the added benefit of having speaker processing built in. Yeah it doesn't come with a DAC or Bluetooth, but if youre buying a speaker of this caliber, you should not be using bluetooth.

It is an audio transport full of trade-offs.

It would have been helpful if you had said something about measurements and listened to them. Given their pedigree, I’d expect the JBL to have a more flat frequency response and better internals with the Klipsch likely more dynamic and with a better quality veneer. Almost certainly this JBL is a better engineered, higher quality speaker. But Klipsch is known for having a raw, forward sound some find appealing.

The JBL’s are “active”, and uses electronic crossovers/dsp. There is no passive crossover. Amplifier modules are connected directly to the drivers. Each speaker has its own amplifiers. Klipsch uses passive networks and the second speaker is slaved off of the first, which powers both speakers. This largely explains the big price difference.

    • @Signal_Glow
      @Signal_Glow ปีที่แล้ว +1

And better quality with DSP. Converting analog signal to digital and back makes little sense if speaker don't have advanced DSP doing tricks we could only dream of a decade ago. I wonder how many people have proper room for speakers so big, probably not that many which makes troubles with mid field speakers of this type needing certain distance to develop bass, stereo imaging and so on.

That said, I have a HD wireless headset that sounds far better than any speakers in a room. Controlled environment, my ears only. Technology moves forward 🤓 I'm 63 and have been considering selling it all. Two receivers, Pioneer from 1980, Carver from 1990's. Plus direct drive turntable and Sony cassette tape deck with Dolby S.
Plus, speakers shouldn't look like a computer with all the digital ins and outs.

How many users have big enough treated rooms to get max out of this mid field monitors, in my experiences not many which make them sound strange due to all sorts of reflections, "underdeveloped" bass when too close, stereo imaging is also impaired. Smaller pro audio near field monitors like Adam Audio go from around 500eur per pair and are a lot less sensitive to room acoustics. Adam Audio was mentioned because they probably offer a lot more than some more expensive companies, ribbon twitters make sound a bit more hi-fi but still precise considering their price point.

My vote goes for the Nine's I've heard them both just not side by side. But as I remember them I like the Tonality of the Klipsch. Also the size not just the $. Now I haven't heard the Tucks by Kanto I like the size of the K's and Kanto's better. I could live easily with the Fives. If I didn't have 3 Vintage Receivers. Or the 7's. Size wise not just sound wise the 5's are more than enough for my listening space and could be too much actually as it is small.

Never had powered speakers. Question. Can the rca inputs be used to make the speakers act like a power amp/int amp? So the outputs of a preamp into the NInes with all your sources connected to the preamp? Or your source such as a tube dac to the input on the back of the Nines? I get the idea of downsizing and simplifying the system, but i wouldn't want to be stuck with the dac built into the units and i would like the opportunity to add a tube preamp/dac if i wanted.

Sorry but this video is bad. You do a video about audio and don’t discuss the audio? Just the spec sheet with some B roll…oof.
I have not hear these but own products from both brands and JBL is always better sounding… always cleaner, flatter, more dynamic but cost much more.
I demoed the Cornwall IV several times on McIntosh gear (I won Mac gear) and then bought the JBL 4367. The JBL is on another level. Cleaner, flatter, more bass detail, quality in the highs beyond anything I have heard (my other speaker is the Revel 228be) soundstage is more stable as Klispch soundstage shifts width with frequency. The Cornwall is a good speaker and the 4367 is an endgame speaker. Now it is more than twice the price…
I would imagine that comparison translates to these but since we just get spec sheets and B roll we may never know. …

    • @scottyo64

@@scottyo64 you do realize the Klispch Nines in this video are $1500 a pair and the 4329p is $4500? The Nine are 33% the cost of the JBL. Where the Cornwall IV is $6600 vs $16500 for the JBL which is 40% so actually the Cornwall and 4367 is more comparable in price.
I got my 4367 off tue back of a truck new in the box for $8250 for the pair.
JBL is just better it just cost more. It combines the good parts of the Klispch and add “audiophile” refinement.

I think you would need to compare the forte to the 4349. The 4367 is pretty amazing and I would assume some of that trickles down into the 4349 as the drivers are similar. Darko has a video comparing the two. For me JBL is alway a class above Klispch but you pay for it, really comes down to cost.
