What were your drawbar settings?
@@joshtidd9953 … I register always live "on the fly" - no fix presets, so there is a variety in drawbar settings. In this case you can see that it was the "B" registration. Base for the right hand is in most cases 888****** (* in this case probably anything between 2 and 6...). For this solo it´s of course with C3 chorus …
Much more important than the exact drawbar settings is that the basic organ / tube / leslie Sound is great. Then it will sound with many drawbar settings … Vice versa now drawbar setting will kick if the basic organ Sound is not good … ;)

Fabulous new Hammond XK-5 real pro organ with amazing tone-wheels sound. Great choice to play with a real Leslie cabinet because Leslie effect is good, but... a real Leslie, here a 147 with tubes, it's the best.
Never leave home without tube Leslie :)

I ask me if Hammond sound is true with an authentic B3 with vaacum penthods ans tone wheel organ, and authentic leslie tone cabinet ?
The Hammond is new (XK-5), the Leslie is vintage (vacuum tubes) and I used a tube preamp between the organ and the Leslie :)
The XK-5 out or 5he box with the internal Leslie sim doesn´t sound like this. But you can let this beast sound like the real thing. There are many possibilities to tweak the sound you want ...
Awesome Hammond organ sound out of the XK-5! Do you think the newish SKX with its extra sounds, also a dual manual Hammond, is worth considering compared to the more expensive dedicated XK-5 organ? I know the XK-5 has the newest Hammond sound engine and multi contact keyboard so I like these 2 features as it seems like the dedicated organ of the XK5 may be more of an instrument and certainly the closest clone to the original Hammond organs.

In my opinion the most impact on "THE" Hammond sound has the real vintage tube Leslie. Most clonewheels should sound better via 122, 147, ... than best clonewheel via internal Leslie sim. I still have my C2D wich sounds great via 147 ...
Of course the XK5 via tube Leslie makes the gap to the real thing smaller, sounds even better, biggest difference is the feeling sitting in front of a "real" organ that´s not more and not less than an organ, the feeling of the multi contanct keys wich makes you play better - it´s not a "keyboard" with good organ sound but an organ :)
And there´s still a difference to B3 / C3 / A100 - especially the vibrations you feel in your fingers, the smell of oil ...
For me it´s a bit similar as the difference between playing a very good perfect sounding digital piano and a real piano (or Rhodes) - the first sounds great but feels "dead" in the finger tips, the real instruments gives a feedback / vibrations to the fingers ... :)
I can even get a very nice Hammond / Leslie sound out of B3X App, but playing it is like drinking a good red wine out of a plastic bottle ;)
My B3/122 will not leave my home again, for stage the XK5 with tube Leslie is my best Hammond solution ever :)

@@downpatmusic Try out the Crumar Mojo or the HX3: they're both much less expensive and VASTLY superior to the outdated Hammond VASE engine (which, despite some enhancements, dates back to almost fifteen years ago).

When I had my old B3, I had a Leslie 122. What a monster that was.
Sadly, due to major changes in life, I no longer have that kit. My back is happy about that, however. LOL
Hi, there was a real 147 behind. What you hear is just the "cheap" direct sound of my cam on stage, not the miked signal for PA ...

Agree with you ,sounds like all the rest of the Hammond clones no guts to it, organist could have done more with his solo
... it´s just the internal mic of my cheap photo cam on stage in automatic mode. Multitrack stream sounds much better of course ...
