Remember, he has had to get used to playing with a ball dominant 2 in a slow paced, offense lacking system of JB Bickerstaff...then, last season, his grandmother who he was very close to passed away and then he broke his jaw, which made him lose about 15 lbs of muscle due to a liquid diet. Now, he has a great coach and is fully healthy.
Same DG ,he’s just not injured. Even last year being injured he scored his career high of 50 points. His all star year he was getting more assist too. Let’s say he’s been talented and he had a down year.
People don’t realize the dude was super skinny after he ate his food through a straw for a month. He lost muscle, lost confidence and was rusty on top of that fast forward to now thicker than he’s ever been, stronger than he’s ever been and he has his confidence back. DG is back to being an all-star. There is no doubt the Cavs are for real.

He really impressed me in year 2 and 3. I liked his composure and his understanding of the game, which reminded me of Cp3. Also really liked him as a high level shooter. Seems like getting adjusted to Mitchell, being healthy, a better floater and now being in year 6 finally allows him to reach his highest level yet. Truly believe he could crack an Allnba team at his peak. In combination with a Mobley leap they could really start to contend for a title soon.
It's sustainable. He's perfect for this era. It's rare you get a point guard THIS shifty that's an excellent shooter and a willing passer. And this frees up Mitchell all the more which is a problem. So yes, if healthy, they'll end of Top 3 in the east and they can make a conference finals run.

A big difference this year in the offensive sets for the Cavs is that they are starting the pick-n-roll 10 ft. behind the 3 point line. It is allowing Spida and DG to break guys down off the dribble, on the switch, before they are in the defensive congestion near the lane. The spacing and off ball movement are much better. Kenny A is implementing much of GS's offensive philosophy.
Good analysis, he's been good. Kenny deserves a lot of credit very excited to see where this team goes. Interested to see how they handle adversity this year when they do drop a few games

Garland has been my favorite NBA player since 2022, his all star year, so it makes me happy to see that he is healthy again and is leading his team to victory

It's all about health for DG. He's had some really freak, tough luck facial injuries in his young career. The fact that Atkinson is managing minutes for these guys WAY better than Bickerstaff will hopefully keep him healthy and fresh.
