Celebrating 50 years, lets hope in another 50 years the Park is still remembered as Leeder Park.

Thanks Leo. Forunately I will not be around to find out! But, allegedly, it will always be a park and ALWAYS remain as Leeder Park! Time will tell - in the crazy world of fifty years hence!

Sincere thanks, R&B. Made me reminisce a little and revisit old times and places! Just think about YOUR achievements and the unforgettable films and videos YOU two have made! You have packed so much into your fascinating wanderings of the world - as your magnificent "Reflections in a Golden Pond" so vividly conveys! Ah! Indelible memories! Long may it be so!!

Hi Leo. Sincere thanks for your kind words. Yes - memories indeed of great times past!! I hear that the superb old swings we all loved have now been replaced with ultra hi-tech versions demanded (and received!) nowadays by the younger generation - faster, swifter, higher is the call!! But - the simpler things in life ARE where the memories linger!!
Coalcliff has now become very expensive waterfront real estate too with many big new homes - and big crowds in the park and pool!! Progress??

Noel, if you see this and if you're interested, the Coalcliff community are having a 50th anniversary of the opening of Leeder Park on Sunday, 23 Feb 2014 from 11.30am (as long as the rain stays away). It's just an informal get together among locals for a BBQ and picnic and we'd love to see you there if possible.

Thank you most sincerely Layla but, sadly, both of us are now in our late eighties and the passage of time has now meant virtual immobility for both of us - poor Margery more so. She has been in full care at Bupa Mosman for eighteen months unable to walk, with only one now-usable arm and increasing dementia. For now, I'm still in our nice old home at Mosman but, having had near-fatal heart failure 26 years ago followed by immediate open heart bypass surgery, I have been pretty much confined to barracks in recent times apart from local movement using a wheeled walker. Both of us would so much have loved to join you all at your beautiful paradise on 22 February but, sadly, this is just not feasible!! I guess not too many current Coalcliff residents would remember us, but please give our fondest best wishes to all there on that day - hopefully, the sun will be shining brightly on a sparkling blue pool below, with residents enjoying another wonderful day in your so-beautiful Coalcliff! If you have any pix of the day, I would so much enjoy seeing them posted on my YT site or emailed to nleeder@idx.com.au. Have lots of great fun and may it always be so!! Sincerely. Noel Leeder.

Layla again - would you please send your email address (or any one which might reach you) to me at nleeder@idx.com.au so that I can send you a few old pix and a little info about Coalcliff. Wonderful memories! Noel.

@nleeder how about coal seam gas, now is that progress ?

  • @nleeder

@leokimvideo Not enough space here to fully vent my views on potentially disastrous outcomes from the current coal seam gas mania but -----!! Progress is a much misused word!! This easier route to energy from coal has possible disaster written all over the yet-to-properly-evolve-worldwide technology - fingers crossed!! And this is a quite separate issue from potential degradation of fertile food-producing farmland and underground water tables threatened by current coal seam gas exploration
