do you think this tank can be made to work in a 2000 superduty? Thanks I’d really like a 50 or 60 gallon van or excursion tank mounted in place of the spare tire
I have a 46 gallon Transfer Flow in my 4x4-converted E-350. You are dead-on about these tanks being heavy, heavy. It's almost like they don't engineer anything; just double the thickness of the steel and call it a day. When you are already carrying an extra 27 gallons of fuel and now you are putting it in a 170 pound fuel tank, that seriously cuts into your payload. Regarding rust, 60% of my tank is covered in surface rust, but I've had in in Northern Minnesota / Alaska for 12 years and there have been no leaks or rust perforation (maybe it's the corrosion allowance of extra steel). For my money, I've been very happy with the HDPE Titan tanks in my F-150 and my GM 3500HD. Half the weight, 1/4 the installation time, and no rust issues.
I have a 2022 F350 with the 6.7 and I love my 48 gallon factory tank. Ford knocked that out of the park! Hook up my 5’r and I’m on the road until I say I’m ready for a rest. Loving it
Quick rest area stop is much easier than pulling into a gas station though! I feel and hear you all the same. I haven’t pulled the trigger on buying one as I’d prefer not to install myself. I’m in the Detroit, MI area. I may just get an aux tank to toss in the bed. Fillup at the rest areas! 😂
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARodjust checked your profile!!!! Not too far from me actually. Whats the charge to get one of these tanks for my 23’ F350? Any narrower truck bed transfer tanks? I may get a fifth wheel camper so need that clearance. I’m up for options! :)
First time watching one of your video's. VERY well presented... Great video holds while you were talking about the parts/install points. Easy to see exactly what you were referencing along with a well lit view of the placement. Kudo's all round!!
Thanks for the gas content for us 7.3 Godzilla owners. Called them and waiting for the super cab long bed tank. Should be out soon. No grocery getter short bed here 😂
I have a 55 gallon replacement extended tank in my 2022 3500 ram. I get 1150 miles to the tank. How is your truck only getting 14 mpg? Are you really heavy on the throttle? I get 21 mpg with no load.
Same here! I ain’t paying over $3,000 for a larger fuel tank that doesn’t even come with a skid plate! That’s just crazy to me. I can pay for a year of gas for the same cost as this tank.
I have a 2017 6.2. I'm hoping this will fit, they still have yet to get back to me. I'm unsure why it would only fit 2020-2022 models with the same setup
have you installed the tank to your 6.2 gas ? Im thinking about buying one myself and there is no much information on it online its always the 6.7 diesel
@@ShyairLopez no, at the time, they advertised it as fitting my year and engine. However, the website contradicted their advertisement. I'm not sure if it still does or not
Any programming needed to make that work with the fuel gauge/range in the dash cluster? I know you have to change a parameter if you upgrade from a factory 26 gallon to the 36 gallon tank on the F150s.
I did reprogram my truck computer in the IPC module with Forscan to say the tank is 58 gallons but gas gauge on dashboard still acting like it is the 36 gallon tank. Any suggestions?
Would like to know if you have a shop in Florida. I am interested in doing an exact change, as demonstrated in the video. If possible, would like to know the name of the shop and location. Thank you for the great videos.
Looks like a nice unit. Awfully close in some areas. Is there any rubber insulation on it? Looks like it’s hard mounted…I would be worry of stress cracking but I’m sure it’s been tested and if just fine.
This video is helpful! I've had my eye on this tank for a bit. I have a Carli Pin Top suspension. Would you be worried about the tank interfering with articulation offroad? The clearances looked tight.
I’m in the market for an extended range gas tank for my 2022 Tremor, slightly modified w Carli Eventure and other goodness. Any updates on rust issues w this tank? Wonder if it would be a good idea to spray bedliner type material on the steel tank before installing?
Leaving your tank full and dropping it off at a dealership is so dumb, as I found out. I came back to an empty tank. So either a tech stole it, or it was stolen while it was on the lot (which I doubt because it's almost impossible to syphon the gas out of the filler). If they need more than a few gallons of fuel, they're using it for errands.
I just had one installed on my 2023. With the extra 24 gallon capacity the distance to empty (DTE) is now off. Is there a way to change the fuel tank size in the computer so the DTE is more accurate??
No they did not. When I asked them about it they said the computer would learn the tank size and adjust as I drove it (which sounded fishy to me). Looking at the installation guide from transfer flow it states on one of the first few pages that the DTE will not be correct after installing the tank and makes no mention of how to correct for it, only gives an estimate for gallons in the tank at full, 3/4, 1/2, 1/4 and empty. On some of the forums I’ve seen other people comment about problems with getting the DTE fixed on 23-24 trucks so I’m wondering if something with the programming changed with the new superduty in 23.
The shop that did the install is a transfer flow installer but said they don't have Forscan to change those settings. So are you saying if I take it to my local Ford Dealer they can't make those changes either and that I would have to find someone with Forscan to do it??
I would imagine so. It won't decrease ground clearance and won't rust out as bad over time. Easier to access and you can swap it over to a new truck if you ever decide to get a new truck. Only downside is loss of bed space.
The fact that it is metal & not aluminum or plastic is a huge deal breaker to me ! The way it hangs down too far is another deal breaker on a off road vehicle too! No thanks 👎
I found an independent technician that's use a plug-in device called Forscan it will be able to reset your onboard computer to the new fule tank size. Good luck. Enjoy your new fule tank.
After tax and shipping this tank would cost me $2584, not including any install/labor costs. Just to add an additional 23 gallons of capacity? Sorry but I don't see the return to cost benefits here. I think I'll just stick with the few extra stops at the pumps.
Good lord man are you serious? I wouldn't have imagined it would be even half that price!! It would for sure be convenient... but *you're right,* I'll just stop more often. 😳
Priced it at Chattanooga if I bought the tank and had it delivered to the company approved dealer. The company near me wanted over $4,200 just to install the 58 gallon tank that cost about $3,800 with shipping. I’ll be stopping frequently because I cannot justify the price
Maybe you need to come down off your covered wagon. Adding the tank does not void your warranty. Being in the wagon business, I am going to assume you do not know how the system warranty actually works....

Nope but our diesels S&B made the tanks so WE can re use the factory skid plate
