Thanks a lot for doing this video. Not many people talk about importing JDM cars to Canada this thoroughly. I'm slowly saving funds to one day get my dream car!
Thanks for the video. I live in Winnipeg, the center of Canada, and I have a JDM fairlday z. Right hand drive and lovely. It's winter now, so I am not driving it. Can't wait for spring....
I noticed you said "bold claim" about the mileage on the Prelude. At the time that Prelude was initially advertised it most probably was the lowest mileage SiR Type S model on the market in Japan, so you'll need to factor in when the car was initially posted and when you made the video. That car was initially posted on the website mid to late last year. Also JDM EXPO deal with auctions throughout Japan, used car dealers, private owners/collectors, among other sources.
Did you go through auction or directly buying one of the cars, how long did it take, I'm in concract with the company but they are taking along time to respond, do you know if there is additional fees that you pay when it arrives at Canadian ports? I know it says it's all included but just wanted to make sure
@@cadxz7665hello, can you please tell me did you buy car from b pro or not? Because I’m also planning to import a car, do we have to pay any taxes or any hidden fees after the mentioned price online? You help would be really appreciated Thank you
I don’t understand one thing i work for Japanese companies i have been in exporting business from japan since 2017 and currently gathering information about importing jdm cars in canada as per my knowledge there is no custom duty for JDM cars as canada and japan has a treaty together
Though I have no direct experience as I have not imported a car, I would say either import something that had a North American equivalent model as in most cases many of the parts will be direct swaps or work with an importer/exporter who can also supply parts or at least has connections in Japan to get said parts or be prepared to spend time searching Japanese sites for parts you need, including after market. To me a good example would be Subaru. This is largely the reason I have not taken the plunge of importing as sometimes there are some "gotcha" items that are very difficult to get and really no one's fault. The most recent episode of this, for me, was a JDM Honda Odessy, it is similar to but not identical to the NA version, particularly the front windshield is almost impossible to find. All I can see is great difficult bringing in that part from Japan as IMO there are so many things that can go wrong. A windshield would likely be among the most likely of things that needs replacement unless you are in an accident. Added to that many insurance companies have specific glass coverage as part of the policy which may or may not effect time or cost involved. The other option I have certainly considered is importing 2 of the same model, for that matter, as since this video I think B-Pro is in the process of organizing more of a "drop ship" method, for that matter, I have also considered filling a container with the same models. But I am talking about JDM only cars of the smaller economy version (but not Kei cars). Idea being to basically have an entire car available to me for parts. In-between would be the option of importing a "cut" when needed, a "front cut" getting the whole front of another car maybe easier than just trying to import an single fender to replace following an accident. There are companies in Canada that get JDM mechanical parts and sub-assemblies but many of those will also import "cuts" or IMO, more precisely, that is how they get their parts to begin with.
Really hoping you can help answer, I have found zero answers to this question. Can I import a brand new vehicle with less than 2000km from Japan to bc and then I’ll get it to Alberta? Can a person such as myself do that? Does a dealership have to do it? Can neither of us do this? It’s my dream car and right before I went to order from the deporter and shipper I saw on another importers website about the 15 year rule… but if it’s unused and it’s a brand new care maybe there’s hope? Thanks in advance if you try and help out by giving me your input!
Zero value video.... Your "step by step" guide could be shortened to 30 seconds video something like hey call guys from Calgary they will look after you.... I'm not saying Calgary crew is bad probably great but people were looking for info on how to do it themselves....

@@cadxz7665 how is your car bro?
I just wanna know what import fees are gonna be tagged onto the car if I’m importing it to Vancouver port
Thank you very much for this video! Is there a big cost difference between exporting and importing?
An importer might be slightly more expensive if they take care of all the paperwork and customs! but not much more
@@importgarage thanks for the info!
What best for USA?
Bro dropped one of if not the best and most straight forward breakdown of how to import/export a JDM car to Canada and went offline 😭

Yea there's no hope. It's 15 year rule for any RHD car in all of Canada and 25 years in Quebec for a RHD
The Toyota car was only introduced in Europe and not in Japan and North America. The vehicle is a toyota corolla g6r 1999. Will this car enter Canada?
You can import almost anyhthing that's 15 years or older.
does it apply to all countries in asia?
Who are you getting your insurance from in Ontario for a RHD JDM car?!
I don't know much about Ontario but you probably gotta go with Facility or Hagerty if its over 25 years old
Mod vid 👍
i love lt
