Wow you actually got Kith. Amazing video that was very informative. I wonder why so many people have been complaining about poor QC in the KithNYC subreddit? This shirt was constructed so much better than the FOG Essentials. When you can, i'd love to watch your take on luxury sweaters made in italy and a ranking video showing which brands have the best quality to markup ratio (ie, is it possible to find something nice at a 5x markup?).
Could possibly be other items within their store! We'd imagine they have several factories & not all of them may be good! That ratio video is a great idea!
The t-shirt you should do next is…… the one *you* wear! And no, I don't want to see you do a review shirtless. I needed to see this to remind me that often the price we pay for things isn't just a reflection of the physical stuff itself or how trendy it is but also the product of a keen & savvy architect's mind. And that's worth something. Given the sticker price and the complimentary review i thought for sure your mfg estimate would be in the $12-14 range. Turns out $8-9 can result in a good shirt from someone who knows what they're doing or crapola in the hands of a philistine.
Oh once you are in fashion long enough. It saps all the joy out of buying clothing haha. But you can definitely appreciate it when someone spends the time to go into the details of creating something!
Thanks for covering KITH. I wonder how much would it cost them to ship those shirts to their designated stores around the globe? And how much duties and taxes would they be charged? That would definitely be the true net value of the shirt post production
I would love to see a video where you guys review actual high quality products and see if they’re actually worth their money. Brands like Merz B Schwannen, Samurai jeans, Shockoe, etc. thanks!
I am a big fan of Kith and while it is more expensive, I do feel like I am getting what I pay for from a quality standpoint and from a fit perspective. The Ts also wash and dry well with minimal shrinkage. After watching this video, it does make me feel a little better about how much I spend on these Ts as you are also paying for some of the hype around their products. If you compare these to Supreme t-shirts, it's not even close. Supreme fit is horrible, they shrink a lot, and the material quality is horrible.
Something Joe has said in a few of the videos, a brand can charge whatever they like for their garments and it's up to the consumers to judge whether or not it is worth that price. The discrepancy comes when a brand charges a lot but the quality is not there at all😅
Dude, this is the best video I've seen all day! I love these in-depth breakdowns. They're not super popular, but I'd love to see you break down and item from Enfin Leve. Their stuff looks super technical and I'm wondering if it's worth the price point. $1,600 for a poncho seems like a lot but there's a lot to that piece. 🤷
Appreciate it! We definitely will be doing more technical wear in the future! I've seen stuff from that brand before. At that price point unfortunately alot of the time its a case of never meet your heroes haha.
@@Shiftfashiongroup sadly that's what I figured. But they have a lot of waterproof (what seems like) custom fabrics. It would be interesting to see a breakdown just cause it fascinates me. But keep on going. I'm watching these videos at dinner and anywhere I can. Haha y'all are my favorite channel in recent months. 🤌🙏
I’ve been a loyal patron to Kith for about 7 years now and I’ve only gotten 1 piece that was not the standard high quality I expect. A while ago they did a fund raiser for a school with Maya Angelou, unfortuantely the hoodie was very low quality something along the lines of gildan. Luckily with just about any kith piece you can get a decent return of investment if you decide to get rid of it
One note- is that you can stitch the neck tape leaving an unsewn ~1.5” where the label would go, then do the garment dye, then tuck the label under the neck tape and sew down with a thread that was dyed with the tees. The fact the kith nape label is on top of the tape is a labor cutting measure and honestly would feel horrid itchy on the neck unless it is meant to tearaway or cut off. Especially at $120
Cool! Although it isn’t really a question. I work in promotional products industry and have done private label custom color garment dyed tees with label under the tape in China. 3 times- With a standard woven label, a linen embroidered label, and a tear-away one. Not trying to ish on anything in the video though, just saying that is a labor/time saving measure or a lack of detail that should never be done on a $120 tee haha. I love and appreciate your content. Keep up the good work
Kith also has a pima cotton t shirts at around a 100 bucks can you do a review on that too? Can u explain what pima cotton is and is it worth it with that type of cotton.? Also maybe compare with a cheaper tshirt that is pima cotton as well.
Appreciate it! We will definitely look to integrate the fits back in in the coming months. Currently we are super busy getting our clients summer collections ready & just need to streamline production a bit. 🙏
I bumped into your Acne Studios shirt video, I immediately wondered if you made a Kith video, behold you made one a week ago lol Curious about ALD and Todd Snyder's premium jerseys
Kith easily for me. I’ve been so disappointed in the recent ALD pieces I’ve bought that I stopped buying completely. ALD charges premium pricing but the garments along with the packing don’t justify the prices
Would love to get your thoughts on the Merz b Schwanen tee. It's loopwheeled and costs around $100 USD retail. Kith has branding and marketing but Merz is a blank so the equity for the tee is going to be fabric quality and craftmanship.
I really enjoyed this video and your knowledge and attention to detail is wonderful. However, I'm not sure I understand with the conclusion, where you say that this T-Shirt that costs $8 to make could be "worth it". I'm not sure I get it.
Appreciate it! At the end of the day a brand can charge whatever they want. As long as a customer is willing to pay that price. There are other factors such as branding etc that are intangible. But really matters is the quality of the item that are ultimately selling
@@Shiftfashiongroup I definitely agree with you that anyone can charge whatever they want, that's 100 percent on the customer if they wish to pay it. But for context the reason that somehow I stumbled on this video and TH-cam channel is because became tired of clothes that are just just bad quality and fall apart. I care a lot less about trends and fashion to be honest. There's a lot of discussion that can be found online about fashion and clothing, but it's almost all about fashion, brands, and aesthetics and design. Personally though, I want some reasonably priced clothes that aren't total garbage, and that's a much tougher question to deal with because it's not really discussed and not a major interest for most people. So that's one of the reasons I was so impressed with this channel where you take an item, cut it up and really get into the construction and quality like I've never seen before, just fascinating, I hope you continue doing what you do. If you open a pateron or something I'll sign up.
Great video! You should do ARKET at some point. They're considered "elevated basics" by a lot of influencers, and it would be great to know how elevated they actually are
@@Shiftfashiongroup Also, series idea: "Battle of the Brands." For example, comparing linen trousers from ARKET, COS, Uniqlo, Zara, H&M. You could do the same with t-shirts, jeans, jackets, anything really. But, since it's summer, many people are looking for linen. Some channels have already done this, but they rate the clothes subjectively based on look and feel. They also don't cut the clothes apart. You actually break down the quality of materials and construction objectively. I think it would help your channel (tons of views) and it would help a lot of viewers. Shopping for clothes is confusing, and people genuinely want to know what brands are high quality and where to spend their money.
Also just wanted to add that if you're ever taking requests, it would be so so so so sick if you could switch up and do some more technical apparel items too! e.g.: Arcteryx jackets, Acronym, other highly technical brands with very niche manufacturing methods etc.
Cool review, I own a few of their shirts and have been satisfied with the quality and design. @shiftfashiongroup can you guys cover the T-shirts that Target sells (Goodfellow brand). Some of the t-shirt seem like good quality compared to KITH and Supreme. I'm not 100% sure but it would be nice to see their t-shirts covered and compared to other brands.

Isn’t it pretty obvious that people would wear it as a statement about what they’re wearing? Like Gucci, supreme, Nike, etc. It’s not really that confusing
@@0207xander Exactly, you see labels plastered over every body in Harlem but on Madison Avenue? Not a label to be seen anywhere. People need to wake up to the fact that they are walking billboards and companies like KITH are laughing all the way to the bank.

Great video. It's nice to see a company putting thought and effort into their clothes. Doesn't always seem to be the case, regardless of price.
The editing angles and sound levels are much better in this video. I'm not a big fan of pocket tees, but they make for a fun deconstruction demo.
