      @anita chaudhari I admire bach, beethoven and mozart for their sensibility and being such an influence for great musician of all time in history.
      But speaking generation here, The beatles still resonance more everywhere today than them 'classic genius'. Nowadays gemeration will honor McCartney as a living form of a music and melody itself. He took influence from the genius, then recompose it for everyone, literally everyone. From proletarian working class, to buckingham palace and white house. Everybody enjoys his music. He become the term 'music' itself.
      The definition of good music will adapt and change over time. Classics, baroque, rock n roll, jazz, Nothing really died,, they just blends altogether and turn into something fresh to newer generation

      @@fathur4465 First of all, i understand you're a big fan of the beatles and so am i but musically The beatles can't be compared with mozart or bach or Beethoven or even lizst. I see you know how great the beatles are but i can also tell you don't have a clue about how great those classical legends were. You can go to every musician in this world and they will feel awkward at the thought that Paul is Beethoven of our generation because if you know anything about Beethoven and his musicality , paul is just a great popular music artist compared to Beethoven. Beethoven music had real depth, genius, complexity, he shaped music, he changed music, The beatles impact on popular music is impeccable but what Beethoven influenced was way much broader than just popular music.
      Also, The beatles still resonance more for the average audience because uhhhh Beethoven was classical music? Classical music is an acquired taste, it requires time and most important of all musical knowledge. For an average audience , it will be easier and better to listen to sgt pepper and enjoy music than say spending days and nights understanding some symphony by Beethoven. Beethoven is taught in music schools and will be taught for centuries , The beatles are surely relevant today among their fans but i don't think they will be listened from 200 years from now. Beethoven managed to stay relevant because his music is still studied today, there are still books written about him, because his audience throughout history is different than average audience. Popular music doesn't Last for centuries, because popular tastes changes with time. People like blues before 50's. 60's and 70's rock was the prominent. Later disco came and today hip hop and EDM. Popular tastes keep changing and popular mass audience doesn't care that much. whereas classical being the genre of music that is studied, genre with most dedicated fans and especially musicians , classical legends stay relevant. Classical and pop are completely different music and shouldn't be compared.

    • @07nikhilchaudhari83
      @07nikhilchaudhari83 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@fathur4465 It's just like how bob dylan might be more relevant today than Shakespeare. Or you can say many authors and poets today are more relevant than Shakespeare today but that doesn't mean they will stay relevant forever. Shakespeare will probably stay relevant after centuries from now on whereas those authors and poets Today probably would be forgotten. Shakespeare has such a huge influence on the poetry , literature, english language that is seriously immeasurable. Same goes for Beethoven or bach or any of those classical geniuses. Bach and composers like Beethoven shaped music, The beatles couldn't be the beatles without them, modern music and basically any music that has roots in western classical wouldn't have been same if it wasn't for those classical geniuses. Bach literally invented the modern music, everything can be traced back to him.

    I just started learning to play guitar. My first song was Blackbird. It is a great song to learn and get to know the strings, finger-picking, and some nice bar patterns. I've been playing for two years now and I've played Blackbird pretty much everyday, refining tempo, string tone, and overall quality of sound. I've learned a few other songs along with many riffs, but I popped my cherry with Blackbird. Thank you Paul for this wonderful gift.
    By the way, I'm 64 and I remember watching the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show on Feb 9, 1964 at 8 pm. My sister and I got permission to stay up on that Sunday, a school night, I was 8 yrs old. Their style and performance was unimaginable in those days. They changed things in a way that can only be describe as a phenomenon. It was a good time to be alive.

    My brother was a Vietnam Vet and was suicidal when he came home. I
    was just a little girl, i didn't know the pain he was feeling-i just knew my brother was home.
    He would sing this song to me. He died a few years ago of Prostate Cancer. He shared the part of him being suicidal when in his death bed. "But my baby sister covered me in kisses and loved me. "
    I have wanted a tattoo of a blackbird flying free ever since as a memorial to my brother.
    I was TODAY years old when i learned that my dear Paul was writing about, and my dear brother was singing about ME!!!
    I'm absolutely undone! Thank you SO much, Sir Paul! I AM free! And i AM no victim.

    I'm not sure which part makes Blackbird a cute song, if was Paul's voice, the melody, the guitar, the story behind the song, or Paul's way delivering the message..all i know is that, i just loved Paul more and more each time i watch him and know more about his songs..

  • @skonenblades

    For such a simple-sounding fun little ditty, it's a remarkably complex song. So great.

    • @daisuke4bleach
      @daisuke4bleach 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      How so? Just curious what makes you think it is complex.

    • @skonenblades
      @skonenblades 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@daisuke4bleach to be clear, I'm no musician. I was taking piano lessons so I was at a low level. I thought I'd try this song because it sounds so easy and light. But the chords were, to me, a lot more complex and strangely placed than I was expecting. I don't mean it's complex in general, I mean it's deceptively complex for what it sounds like. Like, it gives a sound of something light and easy like "baa baa black sheep" but it's more difficult than that. That's all I meant.

    another crucial lesson for songwriters. He learned a little bach and it blew his world open. Also, if you notice, the two notes he's playing on the guitar are different from his melody note. Other than a couple times when his voice hits G and the bass note on guitar hits g at the end of phrases, his voice is ALWAYS the third note of the chord. This discipline throughout the whole song gives it cohesion. That was not an accident. Contrary to popular belief among modern singer songwriters, it's not a bad thing to know what tf you're doing.

      I have to agree. I read that when CSN were trying to get a record deal, they were in England meeting with Apple records which was brand new at the time and looking to sign new talent to their label. Supposedly George Harrison and if I remember correctly Peter Asher were there to listen to their audition. CSN played Blackbird as one of their audition songs, and Harrison took a pass on them. CSN were heartbroken...

    Spotify has a lot Beatles outtakes from their music catalogue, and you can see the process that they went through to record them.
    Especially A Day in the Life.
    Blackbird is on there too -Take 28. He was struggling with the tone of the lyric ,whether it was too strong or too soft.
    His answer was I'll know when I've just done it which I found quite brilliant .
