      James Watson they’re playing very deep. Jaime only bets 15k on the flop- Patrick knows that if he hits he can get like 400k from Jaime. So he’s getting an ok price to call.

    If Jamie plays it correctly and just calls the turn, he boats up on the river and can make a reasonable value bet and get called. Then he would look like a normal player and we would be spared the ridiculously embarrassing reaction at 4:05.

      Thank you so much. In his mind, there‘s no way he missplayed his hand therefore deserved to win. Seriously, why the fck raising when you have position? And Antonious leading the turn is just a standard play for every nut-hit. What did Gold want to charge in the first place? QT? Could be reasonable if Antonious is the kind of player who doesn‘t want Gold to check back any Pairs, like maybe AK on the turn, so therefore he leads in for value with QT oder lower sets.

    I remember this hand, but honestly forgot how horribly Jamie played it. 15k into 45k with that board you are BEGGING to be drawn out on. Then commits all his chips when the straight card hits. Just awful play.

    • @jonathanhenderson9422
      @jonathanhenderson9422 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nah, you're 100% wrong. Rainbow board. Only legit draw is KJ and J9 as you're blocking two of AJ's outs. The bigger problem you face on that board is convincing mid-smaller pairs to continue, so Jamie's bet was fine. If I get cold decked by AJ or J9 when I make top set on the turn then there's nothing to be done about that, especially when he could be up against AK, KQ, KT, QT, set of 3s/10s/Qs, etc. There's roughly 20 combinations of hands that beat you (AJ and J9s) and 28 combinations of hands you beat. I think the only questionable play was the turn shove, because you probably gain more equity against the hands you're beating by calling on most rivers. One could argue that Patrick's turn bet weighs his range more strongly towards the draws and KX two pairs though, but how much would be tricky to answer.

      It's a cash game. Some players will agree to run it 2 to 3 times if they are ahead. Basically giving the other player a chance to get some money back. Phil Ivey and Barry Greenstein are basically the only players who run it once. Ivey will sometimes run it twice.

    • @pjani14
      @pjani14 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jasonlane4796 It's not giving the other player a chance to win some money but protecting yourself from getting sucked out on for the whole pot. Antonius ran it 3 times instead of 2 because he was favourite to win at least 2 of them so would win 66% of the pot instead of 50% if Gold got lucky on one of them. I raise, I’ll tell you how much by after this commercial break.
    Saying I raise then waiting 2 minutes is pretty much a string bet like. It’s fishing for extra information. If you pick up they’re happy about the raise you’ll reduce your raise to a min raise. If you sense they’re not happy you could move all in. It’s just not right.

  • @patva8805
    @patva8805 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Everybody would go all in there on that spot with pocket kings. All those saying it's a donk-move, clearly don't know shit about poker. He's running live with his implied odds and the chance was highly unlikely Patrick had AJ there. Jamie went for the odds and in the worst case scenario, he could still hit it. If I was Patrick, I would have gone for only ONE rivercard since he was the favorite. I did actually like the reverse psychology talk of Jamie too,...."I have a hand,...feels like aces but it's not!". People don't expect that if you have a real hand so it's psychological warfare. Because of that sentence, Patrick called the preflop raise of Jamie. You might think it's pure luck Jamie hits his boat but he had outs,...that's just the game. In the end, it's only right he locked up two thirds of the pot I think.

    • @ZToxLives
      @ZToxLives 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Implied odds aren't a factor here. He raised all in. There's no future betting after the turn. It's not a good move because if he's ahead already he is going to be a huge favorite and you'd rather not fold out worse. If he's beaten he's going to get called. Straights are going to pay him off if he boats up, and if he's against a two pair or smaller set they may boat up as well and then you get stacks in.

    • @mackwilkins5167
      @mackwilkins5167 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nobody who knows wtf they are doing is jamming 2x pot on the turn there, he’s literally targeting QQ exactly, no other hand beyond J9 and AJ (even 1010 is a fold as played) is calling him. He’s folding out all bluffs, semi bluffs, and basically all worse value hands and 2/3 times he’s called he’s a significant dog in the hand, there is literally zero purpose to it barring Patrick truthfully telling Jamie “I have AQh right now” which may be the only hand where Jamie just shouldn’t be all that interested in seeing a river against. This was a clear instance of a tourney player being in way over their head in deep stack cash.

      Nobody in the entire comment section claims to be folding kings, but the majority of decent poker players would just call the turn bet of 45k and play a river instead.

    Why does Jamie know he doesn’t have j9?

      Given the pre flop action.. they're saying someone, especially of Patriks stature, probably wouldn't have invested that much money by raising and calling a re raise out of position with a very marginal J9
