César Awards, Paris, France, 23 February 2024.
The Best Actress nominees:
• Marion Cotillard, Little Blue Girl
• Léa Drucker, L'Été dernier (Last Summer)
• Virginie Efira, L'Amour et les forêts (Just the Two of Us)
• Hafsia Herzi, Le Ravissement (The Rapture)
• Sandra Hüller, Anatomie d'une chute (Anatomy of a Fall)
These awards seem so much more mature & dignified than the American ceremonies. These are pure class.
I wish the Brits and Americans wouild also recognize hoe much Sandra deserves recognition for not one but 2 movies this past year!
i think the most people in the industry knowing what a year sandra hüller had and i think it was very close with the nomination for best supporting actress for zone of interest
@@Julevooksshe deserve two oscar nominations, one for leading role, one for supporting role.
I am a Brit - Sandra, Justine.. should be winning everything.
I think her performance in both films is completely overrated. But I also find both films completely boring. Poor Things is clearly superior in all categories. Sorry, that's just my subjective opinion.
@@der_schoene_Snorre She is spectacular in this film.
This is the most eloquent beautiful tribute to acting nominees ive ever seen!
J’ai pas du tout aimé ,j’ai trouvé too much .mais bon chacun ressenti
@@jemecalmesijeveux9440 It's not easy to thank five people in such individual ways. La Binoche did it, and I have respect.
J'ai adoré 😊
agreed! compared to American ceremonies it was very dignified and respectful.
it seems like the Oscars are moving towards a similar direction which I welcome wholeheartedly (except for whatever happened with Al Pacino this year 😂)
YES!!!!!!!! SHE SHOULD WIN THE OSCAR NOW!!!
That's my prayer 🙏 too. 🤞 Congratulations Sandra Hüller for a well deserved award.
İ hope sooo❤❤❤❤
I'd love to see that happen, but it won't! Hüller is an intelligent and talented person. Both films are so thrilling. Just won the _Palme d'Or_ Cannes! The woman gave a considerably better performance than Emma Stone, just like Isabelle Hupert gave a far better performance than Emma Stone in 2017. But Stone is gonna get it anyway, because the Academy is a very exclusive club presenting each-other with golden status. Anyway, keep up the amazing work, Sandra! You're remarkable!
if only sandra could have won bafta, but the stupid british voters voted for emma
so sandra doesn't have any precursors to win, it's very very unlikely
@@NiVi192 you were so right
Germany gave us Marlene and Romy - and now Sandra. ❤
Would love to add the lovely Lilli Palmer as well. ❤
Romy was Austrian, always!
But do you know who was german?
I give you a hint! A.H. ...but germans love to forget that! 😂
@@patmctallica3522Adolf Hitler was also from Austria not just Romy Schneider
Hitler was Austrian. Please educate yourself. And no, Germans have not forgotten about their past, rest assured. @@patmctallica3522
@@patmctallica3522 Your obsession with A H made you believe that he was German. Don't you ever forget that 😂
Give Sandra the well deserved award for her flawless powerful performance!!!
modest, unpretentious and extremely talented
What a beautiful way to present the award, Juliette ❤❤❤
I loved how she complimented each actress so earnestly and talked in depth about what she liked about their Performance. Beautiful brilliant choosen words.
Greets from Germany ❤
The Oscar should be hers. Best performance of the year by a human.
only the dog's performance could compare
If the Academy Awards was about acting she would win the Oscar!!
Hyberbole. There is room for many great actresses. Lily Gladstone was amazing and Emma Stone gave a performence of a lifetime.
@@wbaumnuss3006Emma just made a lot of jerky movements and put on a shoddy accent. It was a "watch me in acting!!" performance. The others were grounded, nuanced performers
Juliette Binoche has such a beautiful French accent! It's so crisp and precise sounding.
She's french
Very bad actress sss
She takes her time... very deliberate.
I so want her to win the Oscar instead of Lily or Emma. Like for real.
I agree I hope she wins but if she doesn't win her nomination will already be an achievement in itself!
"The Academy" doesn t understand european Cinema, I doubt they understand this absolutly amazing performance!
I know - that would be brilliant but alas I don't think it will happen :(@@patrickstevenson9775
I also hope she wins, but I have my doubts. I liked the performance of Lily, but I think that she could have also been nominated for best supporting actress. I feel that they will unfortunately give the Oscar to Emma. She did a fantastic job, no doubt, but I wish the academy would honor more subtle and real performances like the one from Sandra.
Atemberaubendes Schauspiel, elektrisierend, kraftvoll und facettenreich, ausdrucksstark und doch manchmal so unergründlich. Sandra Hüller ist einfach unbeschreiblich.
Sandra Hüller was in two of the nominees for best picture this year. she's a BEAST!!
Sandra Hüler is the best European actress imo, and I'm not German@@jjs-212
This level of sincerity and thoughtfulness could never be tolerated at the Oscars.
🎉Sandra Hüller so fabulous
In a fair world, she will win the Oscar on 10 March
sensational winner of the Cesar, could already surprise at the Oscars
Oh yes, that would be so well-deserved! Sandra Hüller gave a considerably better performance than her fellow nominees these year, including Emma Stone (with all due respect). Just like Isabelle Huppert gave a far better performance than Emma Stone in 2017. But Stone is gonna get the Oscar again, because the Academy is a very biased, exclusive club with the object to present *each-other* with golden status. 🙄
...Anyway, keep up the amazing work, Sandra! You're remarkable!
@@NiVi192 I wish She would win Oscar, but like most of Europe actress who come from non English speaking countries, it is hard to get an academy award. Last time someone win an Oscar who doesn’t speak English was Marion Cotillard, it was 2008…..
odds 21-1, I just lokked!
@@lzr5035 And Sophia Loren in the 60s.
ABSOLUMENT !👍🏻
C’est vrai
Quel merveilleux discours de la grande Binoche!
Top Binoche
She deserves it!! Beyond her talent, her hardwork shines even brighter, I'm sure her French improved massively since her filming of Anatomie d'une chute, kudos!
And Milo should've won male revelation! Also, he's growing exponentially by the day wow, gorgeous boy
What a great way to present every actress and every movie! Bravo!
I don’t know what she’s saying but girl! I am LIVIIING !

Side note: Juliette Binoche should get all the awards for New Look. She's SO GOOD as Chanel!
Agreed. A tour de force!
What an absolutely beautiful tribute by this astonishing and timelessly brillant actor, Juliette Binoche. Sandra was my absolute highlight this year, but having five nominees who all starred in films directed by women deserves another cesar!
French cinema is carrying European cinema on its back. Fight back brothers! ❤
You really need to watch a LOT more European films. Germany, GB, Spain, Portugal, Scandanavia, Russia, Italy, CR, Ireland all have several gifted, productive screenwriters & directors to go with skilled, passionate actors.
@@kevinlakeman5043 I know they do. Between 10-12% of French market ticket sales are for non-French, non-American movies. We love cinema. But the production volume is not the same because many don't protect their native productors as much... Good thing platforms now produce some local tv as well.
agree@@kevinlakeman5043
No, it doesn't all alone. What a narrow-minded view of the incredibly diverse landscape of European cinema.
I totally expected Sandra to give her speech in English, maybe even German and be dubbed. Not speaking French myself, how did she fare in French? Not speaking French, it sounded quite good. What do native speakers think? Great performance, btw. It felt like a totally real wife, you can't see her acting..
Sandra has been learning French for a few years now and her French sounds good. She has a German accent though, but we can perfectly understand her and she sounds very natural. It must have been hard for her to read her text aloud while being so nervous and excited... But she doesn't sound like she's making huge efforts to speak our language. In her speech, she thanked the lady who helped her to improve her French on the movie set, and she said she hopes she will improve it even more after this enriching experience. P.S.: I used to teach French to German university students in Germany so I can easily evaluate her French skills, I am not exaggerating when I praise her French : ).
I m a German living in Belgium and I also recognize a fluency in French.
I m so proud. All the World says Germans are not able to speak French.
I even think French native speakers could speak German... If they would like to learn.
I ve worked many years for, a Tour operator and can say French people tend to stick to their language.

I’m French, and I absolutely confirm what you say here. Her French is really great! 👍🏻
Exactly. You can´t see her acting. She IS Sandra Voyter.

Très beau discours
Sandra deserved an Oscar too !
Imagine how high is the quality of your acting skills by wining over a French Oscar winner Marion Cotillard.
Tellement heureuse pour Sandra Hüller ! 👏
🫰🤗💐
Fantastic!!!👏🏻
Well deserved for Sandra Muller. Just the scene they showed, you can see how strong and powerful her acting is. Impossible to do not recognize that she is above all the other nominees. Well done Madam Sandra Müller😊
Hüller not Müller
Much deserved. I hope she always wins the Oscars.
This _Palme d'Or_ in Cannes is so well-deserved! I'm so glad she got this award, because it might be the last one this season! I mean, Hüller gave a considerably better performance than Emma Stone did this year (with all due respect). Just like Isabelle Hupert gave a far better performance than Emma Stone in 2017. But Stone is gonna get it anyway, because the Academy is a very exclusive club presenting each-other with golden status. Anyway, keep up the amazing work, Sandra! You're remarkable!
I would love to see her win the Oscar.
Samdra is magnificent, she deserves all the awards, but how come Antoine Reinartz, who had one of the best acting I’ve ever seen is not recognized at all?
When I watched the trial it was like watching a documentary, he was doing real!!
hueller said in many interviews how excellent he was - she sometimes leaned back and let all the talent around her unfold. she spoke in high praise of him
Sehr bewegend. Danke Sandra
Magnifique Sandra 🎩🇨🇵 🌿 🌄
WT...she speaks English (Oscar 2024) + French wow i am surprised big time greetings von Germany
❤ magnifique
She should win the oscar, too!! oh well.
Oscar, Oscar, Oscar! 🎉
The first thing that comes to my mind is of course happiness for Sandra - she indisputably deserved this award and more tbh.. sadly didn't happen but fortunately I have no doubt she will get other chances. She is a real talent, a beauty and seems to be a lovely person too. Love her French accent as well and find it incredible how fast Sandra has learned to speak this difficult language not to mention with such a good pronunciation! Mad respect (tho I can't help but feel envious😅😭)!! Glad to have discovered her.
The other thing that came to my mind was a flashback to that one Call My Agent ep the moment I saw Juliette about to give a speech AND at the César Awards of all occasions! Exactly like in Call My Agent!!😂😂 So relieved this time she managed to complete her duty seemingly without any issues😭🙌🏻
It’s Sandra’s moment 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Long live freedom of expression and love for cinema shows, wishing you everybody never get tired having fun performing and entertain us fans ❤🎉❤
So wait she didn't learn French until the movie? She sounds great here. She seems very intelligent.
That shriek! Love her 😊
Love all those ladies, both actresses and movie directors 👍🏻

Congratulations Sandra Hüller! She`s so down to earth and talented! ...Juliette and Marion still look so great! ❤
Im Austrian and I still prefer fench or british movies before "ours" in german! 👏
A piece of my heart is still on Austrian (not german) Romy Schneider side! Still love the talent of Annie Girardot and Catherine Deneuve!
...and Ive a little crush on Audrey Fleurot (not the only one; I guess) , but dont tell anybody! 😉
Omg I absolutely ADORE Audrey!!😩 Your comment is actually (and sadly) the first time I have seen anyone else mention her, but so glad I stumbled on this to discover I'm not the only Audrey Fleurot appreciator in this world after all
J'adore le discour en français!!

I've always wanted to marry Juilette Binoche. This aside, double-hooray for Sandra for an exquisite performance.
I am thisclose to predicting her for The Oscar.
