As someone who was wearing the wrong bra size for several years with worsening back pain, I suggest you measure again for bra sizes--40D would mean your ribcage measures 40" and the largest part of your boob is 44" around. Every inch is another cup size, and I suspect you need different sizing to get better support. I helped a friend who found out she needed to *reduce* the band size and increase the cup size by 4 sizes.

I appreciate so much that you actually tested the swimsuits at the beach. I know you have a pool at home, so I never would’ve expected you to go to the beach, but that allowed you to do a really proper test in the ocean and running around.
"Really proper test" is a good way to put it. I don't live near a beach, so it's not something I usually consider when buying a swimsuit, but then I went on a beach vacation and I had to readjust several times and it was so annoying
One of my favorite things about Sierra is how honest she is. That’s the most important thing that an influencer can be. Basically their job is to be real with us and candid, that is why we trust them to recommend products to us. Sierra does that with every video she puts out 💕💕💕
As someone who has scars all along her
thighs, it means SO much to have skims come out with shorts. I haven’t been in a swimsuit in years solely because of the scars and now I feel like it’s going to be more normalized and I’m so excited for it to come back in stock!!! 🥹
I have dysphoria but am still more on the femme side and I've gotten so many looks when I wore swim shorts in the past. I really hope this is getting more normal now too because I've only been swimming once in the past like 6 years or more. Only because there was another trans friend there too who understands my struggle.

You should check out the swimwear from Calypsa (Modli)
Their swimwear was the first I've found that a) covered what I wanted covered, b) fit correctly, and c) wasn't ridiculously expensive. I feel so comfortable in it and don't have to readjust at all. They even have swim leggings and long-sleeve swim tunics if you'd like to be completely covered.
I was recently pleasantly surprised to see swim *leggings* in the Land’s End catalog - that’s something I have never seen before!

Would you ever consider going for a professional bra fitting for a video?! I feel like so many breasted folks are wearing the wrong size especially after a big body change. I think it would be great to show how much of a difference a properly fitted bra can make!

As someone with dark, thick body hair I'm so glad they've come out with a shorts option. My bikini area is so sensitive that I can't shave or wax any hair in that area. Women are basically expected to be bald in this area (which gives me weird vibes) so I've always been insecure.
Edit: And although I'm white (it's common for certain types of white European to have thick body hair, maybe it's different for white Americans), I think the shorts are a great way of having inclusively for POC. South Asians for example have dark body hair which has been targeted as a way to "other" them in the West. The option to cover it if you're insecure but still look nice will probably mean a lot to a lot of people.
I always worry that I will get an infection (down there) when I go swimming freshly shaved. My hair grows so fast so I have visible stubble if I shave the day before. I also have a sun allergy. So overall I'm glad the Kardashians making swimming shorts and long sleeve shirts trendy.
@@johanna2690 omg yes! it's a lose lose situation, if i don't shave directly a few hours before going out i'll have stubble several inches outside my bikini line, if i shave i'm literally terrified for my life. i won't swim in any fresh water for this reason (i feel like saltwater will at least kill some bacteria) and it's supremely annoying. i'm getting laser hair removal for my bikini sideburns as i call them but i hate that i feel pressured to, and i'd love to have nice high waisted swim shorts as an option (there are swim shorts for women but for the most part they're low wasted and look boxy and horrible).
@@mmmmmmmmaria Haha, bikini sideburns, defintely a fitting term😅 I think waxing is also a good option for the summer months. It's sad that hair is seen as inappropriate. A week ago I bought a swim shirt and am now looking for some swim shorts. I just want to be care free and spontaneous. Grab my stuff and go in the water. Without having worry about hair, infections or sunburn.
@@Yuki-di2rb i had reaaaally thick, dark and stubborn hairs (like multiple hairs growing from one root) and i would get everything down there waxed, but my skin would get SO irritated and sensitive that it was just not worth it anymore. i also tried shaving, but yeaaaa nooo.. nothing worked until: laser!!!! istg it’s SO worth it. i’ve been to 10~12 laser appointments and literally all the hairs are gone!! i have my final appointment in a few days and i haven’t shaved in 6 weeks, but there are barely any hairs growing (the ones that do grow are like blond peach fuzz) if u want a permanent solution i definitely recommend getting laser treatment (the type of laser i got was Diode Ice laser, which can hurt for the first few appointments, but after 3 appointments it’s basically (almost) painless).
Ive had an abscess from shaving that ended up turning necrotic, which was just great fun 😐😶😑. I bought an at home IPL machine and its gives amazing results. Still trying to get to the hair free stage as every few weeks i have to stop because my scar starts getting reinfected. Its been a three year struggle especially when no dr will drain it and A&E just give me antibiotics, which do not end up getting the full infection out. Ive had a stint on antibiotics for 6 months in a row before. Didnt help. All this because hair is seen as gross. Even I think its gross(when its long) because of the trends while growing up and expectations of womens bodies.
As someone who has always felt really uncomfortable showing a lot of skin I was excited to see the t-shirt and shorts set. I think that would make my time at the beach much more enjoyable. I think I will check that out
I really appreciate that you tried these in the real world. I wouldn't have even considered swim shorts and a rash guard until you demonstrated the versatility. I think I like seeing the suit and the performance next to each other. I actually forgot about half of the suits by the time you were done with the ones at the beach lol

The shorts bikini outfit seems the most practical for an active beach day, snorkeling, or a boat day to be more protective from hot sand/deck, rocks, and sun without having to fuss about a coverup.

It looks like, across the board, they are underestimating the boobage that often comes with being a larger size lady. A lot of those pieces looked great, they just needed a little more coverage. ❤️ P.S. What do you think of the hook in the front of the long sleeve top? It seems pretty minimal for the price and what it's being asked to do.
Which I find fascinating, because I usually have the struggle that clothing companies don't think bigger people can have smaller boobs, I almost always end up with too much fabric or the cut sitting strangely on me.
I would absolutely love that long sleeve top if it had a more durable clasp. One tiny little hook just isn’t enough to cut it for me.
I do really like that Skims has as many different styles in swimwear as they do, and it’s turning into a brand that I might be willing to buy from in the future. I’m very picky with my swimwear though, and I expect a lot from a swimsuit.

Honestly, I love how Kim decided to add more fabric to swim attire. Don't get me wrong, I love a string bikini but skin cancer ain't it, sis. Although, I am unaware if the long sleeves/bottoms are SPF certified. I know Kim did not intend for this line to promote "skin protection" but it's cool that she is making more fabric trendy.
Pro tip from an ex competitive swimmer: when ya pee, just pull the crotch of the suit to the side instead of taking it off. Soooooo much easier lol
I thought that was common knowledge! Taking off the whole suit is really just for longer bathroom sessions lol
@@Flareontoast It took me until I was in my 20s before I learned you could just pull it to the side...and I used to swim in highschool. I couldn't figure out why everyone else peed so fast, but no one ever told me until I googled it. 🤦🏻♀️

I’ve been thinking “man i wish swimwear came in bike shorts” recently because I want to take my dog to the lake this summer but feel like I don’t want a bikini type swimsuit to do it… this is AWESOME!
Alot of swimwear brands offer swim shorts now. I've purchased some at Target, Walmart, and other places over the last few years. I like them much better than the standard bottoms.

I really struggle with the kardashians. I agree on all the great inclusivity things they did with this launch. At the same time, these are the same people that inspired thousands to get BBLs, lipo and lip injections. No hate to sierra about this just my random thoughts.
Rich people, no matter how cool, will always be somewhat hypocritical. That's just how it is I guess
I think they follow where the money is like a lot of companies. Inclusivity (or at least the appearance of) is in trend. I hope it gets better and isn’t just a trend. However if this brand (like many) were around in the 90s or early 2000s, they wouldn’t be as inclusive as they are now.
At the same time though before the Kardashians thin was in and if you were in anyway curvy you were fat. They normalised curves. Even though they have gone way too far now with the surgery, at the time they broke the mold.
They are celebs and have money for surgeries. They live in Cali and cosmetic surgery is normal for them. They have larger sizes because it’s a business & they get more profit by catering to the larger crowd. Brands like Abercrombie and Hollister now have larger sizes when they previously did not. They don’t really care about obese women but they just want more money. Nothing confusing about it.
But even though they are size inclusive, majorly of those tops didn’t fit her chest!! Meaning those pieces weren’t actually tailored for bigger people. Throwing a bigger size on it but not actually making sure it can fit big breasts is really sad.
I love the brutally honest review Sierra, but I do agree that this video kind of proves why so many of us were confused with your ad for that fabletics swimsuit on IG the other day. The same reason you gave these skims suits low reviews were some of the reasons we didn't understand you advertising that no support fabletics swimsuit.
it's her sponsor. personally, i think people are allowed to have sponsors and get their money. doesn't mean we gave to buy from them if we don't like them.
@@onica1330 I agree with sponsorship as well, wholeheartedly. I know Sierra puts so much time and effort in her posts and videos! I've tried daily harvest smoothies and green chef box because of some sponsored videos of her and liked them. Just didn't seem like genuine ad to quite a few people, but someone in the comments said apparently if fabletics sponsors you they don't allow for criticism. so there's that.
@@LeilizzleFaShow I think it makes sense that corporations wouldn't allow the influencers who they are paying to promote their brand to talk negative stuff about thar brand. I would always take the sponsored content with a grain of salt, because I know it's content that is paid for (and I'm cynical lol). but it is an interesting ethical question, like where do you draw the line when taking sponsorships.
@@onica1330 absolutely, I do see your point and question that as well. I know there are other influencers who take any sponsors for the pay regardless of the item lol. To date though Sierra has done a good job of only promoting things she loves. I think her sponsorships with their workout line is genuine and maybe it just felt like an easy one for the swimsuit.
Not to mention the environmental impact of companies like fabletics that encourage you to buy new clothes every few weeks!
After giving birth, I have the same body type as you (yours and mine only have 2 weeks between them!) and I'm so glad you are doing a swimsuit review!!! I became so conscious about my belly, but seeing you being a GODDESS in them, it gives me confidence too, like, maybe I'm not as bad from the outside as I see myself from the inside.

I must say! It's nice to see someone with the exact same body type as me look so darn hot in swimwear? respectfully? I've always been insecure and self conscious about my body while i'm just out trying to enjoy summer but seeing you look and feel comfortable and SeXy in your swimwear makes me think " This woman who looks eerily so much like me is beautiful, therefore I am beautiful and confident because I chose to be" if that makes sense

As someone who has a large chest I struggle every year to find something that fits me and won’t slip off while I’m in the ocean.

Thank you for this! It's bananas when brands that have a good selection of plus-size clothing don't feature models with apple-shaped bodies, even though it's the most common body type for plus size women.

I just got my first swimsuit. Went with a wonderful company: Beefcake. Picked up their 1920's-inspired suit in their Bee's Knees pattern. Love it!

Thank you for this thorough review! I love that you did a functionality test, I haven't seen that before in a swimsuit review and it's so helpful! I also love your commentary on different reasons to want full coverage...nowdays it seems like people who want full coverage are mocked or said to be unconfident when in reality there are SO many more reasons to want more coverage so I appreciate you including that!
I LOVE that these are cute swimsuits with more coverage. I feel like the trend now is to show as much skin as possible, and that just doesn't work for everyone. Never thought I would actually want to buy something from skims but this convinced me.

It’s like they forgot when you make something bigger you actually need more fabric. When I shop plus size I usually have the issue that I can’t fill out the fabric because my cup size is m quite small, even though my body and chest is quite big. I feel in those pieces even I would be spilling out everywhere.
As a person who doesn't really get the Kardashian appeal or aesthetic, I was very pleasantly surprised by some of these! The grey shorts and crop top were killer - a perfect mix of fashion and function. Thanks for the great content!
And on a side note, having grown up in the 80s and 90s and only seeing ONE body type fed to me as 'beautiful', I am HERE for bodies of all types being portrayed as beautiful and something to be confident in. My 40 years of body issues are slowly but surely beginning to heal.

I think you should try on the monokini again with the very first simple sport tank-style top under!! Layering is a fun trend in general, and this could potentially be cute and comfier! (Or it could go horribly wrong…. Please don’t come for me! 😖😂) AND OMG GIRL KEEP THE WHOLE CINNAMON COLORED SWIM SKIRT SET!!!! 🤎🤎🤎🤩

As a slightly bigger girl some things I’ve found really helpful when it comes to swim suits is wearing my bottoms backwards and wearing my string bikini tops upside down is A LOT more flattering, no matter how small they are. Idk why, but it just WORKS! When it comes to wearing the bottoms backwards, your butt will be out, but if you have a bigger stomach and 🐈 it’s so much more comfortable than constantly trying to cover up.

This may have already been commented, but when trying to order things that have a huge drop why don’t you have some team members order things as well. Like set up a plan to wear you have 3-5 items in your cart, another has 3-5, and another has some in their cart. That way you get the items you want in the colors, patterns etc. just a thought! Love your content as always 💜

The quality seems so nice, but darn on some of those tops! I feel like the Kardashians, and some fashion trends in general, are trying to push this "your boobs may or may not be a sneeze away from flopping out" trend and I just can't. Body positivity or not, I wanna be able to do literally anything other than delicately lounge poolside in my swimwear.

I would be willing to bet you are actually a larger cup size than a D! I think a fun video idea would be you getting professionally fitted for a bra (NOT from Victoria’s secret or dillards etc). Like go to a special bra store that carries cups past H.
I got professionally fitted after having kids and was shocked 😂 I thought I was a C/D and it turned out I was actually a G 🤣 Lots of people don’t know what a properly fitting bra even looks or feels like!
I was thinking that too! A fitting video would be great. There’s so many people out there wearing suuch a wrong size for them.

Maybe it's just me, but it feels like you were trying really hard to like these pieces because you like the brand or the Ks. Based on the amount of issues you had with the fit/amount of fabric and functionality, I wouldn't recommend those to anyone.
I love the swim short concept because playing with my little nieces and nephews at the beach I normally pull on shorts to give me more coverage when we’re running or sitting cross legged on the sand making castles. Swim shorts would definitely save me from having to take off the my denim shorts and then put them on over wet bathing suit bottoms each time we go in and out of the water!

I did a honest review about this brand a few weeks ago. I put things in my chart and everything sold out in seconds 😂 I’m a solid size 8 and idk I wasn’t impressed. The quality is there with the material but for girls with no hips & no waist, ehhh I wasn’t impressed…

Thank you for helping my body confidence today. I was thinking about how amazing you looked, then realised that I wear the same size as you! I loved the 1st one, the little crop and pants. I recently purchased a one piece that extends to pants. I personally don’t enjoy shaving my nether region often, and hate the idea of doing it before swimming. Swimming alone can be anxiety inducing!
