Just watched this after listening to Bill on Hope for our Times with Tom Hughes and John Haller. The way Bill pulls this all together is very convincing. My prayers have been about Israel’s neighbours knowing that the God of Israel is the One True God who created the heavens and the Earth. Bill’s scenario would bring this about and also be a beacon call to the lost world of today. God would be revealed to the lost as the only One who knows the future from the beginning. I really loved this teaching, Dr. Salus! I marked these unfulfilled prophecies in my Bible, and see how close we are to Ezekiel 28 being fulfilled now! Am presently wondering if Russia has supplied Iran with some deadly weaponry that they could launch at any time against Israel. I have great appreciation for Bill Salus and his teaching. I would like to ask a question not as a challenge ( so NO troll responses please) but for clarification. At the 47:17 timestamp Bill made the statement referring to Alexander the Great, "...this fact of history alone makes it impossible for Ezekiel 28:23 to be fulfilled historically." However, history does tell us Sidon was destroyed at least two other times. 1-The Persians besieged Sidon and captured it and deliberately burnt it to the ground and it's 40,000 inhabitants perished. (p.294, Our Oriental Heritage by Will Durant, Simon and Schuster, 1954. The Greek Historian, Flavius Arrianus (Arrian) confirms this. Sidon was already rebuilt when Alexander the Great came and they did surrender. Tyre did not and was completely destroyed. 2- When Julian Greiner was the Count of Sidon (1239-1260) he attacked adjacent areas of Damascus in 1260 he killed a Mongol officer - the nephew or grandson?- of Kitbuga, a Mongol general of Hulagu Khan. (Ghenis Kahn family) The Mongols avenged themselves by ravaging the territory of Sidon. The Battle of Ain Julut (p.424, The Collins Encyclopedia of Military History,(4th edition, 1993), Dupuy & Dupuy . The Bubonic Plague decimated Sidon and surrounding regions in 1347. Should these later conquest/pestilence be considered fulfillment of Ezekiel 28:20-24? Maranatha!
