RoJo should be getting the most rushing attempts. That was obvious just watching the game. O-line looked better yesterday than the previous 2 weeks. Caleb's progression is going nicely.
Both Eberflus and Waldron never admit they can do a better job as coaches. They always are pushing responsibility for failure on the players as in "we need to execute better" or "we need to avoid negative plays". This "the coach is always right" is very worrisome, especially if they actually believe they can do no wrong. I want to hear "we need to look at improving our goal line offense" or "we need to look at ways to better use so-and_so". This team has too much talent and the Bears organization must not allow it to be wasted. Daaa Bears
I'm just gonna say it...we have GOT to be patient..for the sake of the Bears and Caleb. It's gonna take time to actually weather the storms AND adjust. Not worried about Caleb...he's getting better every game regardless and it's gonna seem easy for him when we figure out what works and what doesn't. He's gonna shine and I'd rather get these bumps in the road now and persevere than look great now and fall apart when it gets tough.
Lots to be excited about. Forget the local pundits. The main disadvantage for Bears is a great young but Inexperienced QB. The Colts stacked the line of scrimmage to stop run and forcing pass. They had no choice as did previous 2 opponents. This whole thing is a process and Bears are on track. Fans are impatient. Too bad. Lower this season's expectations, come back to earth.... Disagree on the coaching except overuse of Swift. He's a scatback not a horse. The environment at Halas Hall is tremendous thanks to Poles and Flus. If guys can't get better in that environment, they just can't play! Yes, O-line not as bad as believed.
The Colts didn't blitz much, if at all so the line should have done well. My biggest aggravation, aside from losing a winnable game, is where the H is Herbert? He's our best inside the tackle RB and he's warming the bench. I was lukewarm on the Swift signing and I was surprised how fast he was anointed the starter. I was have flashbacks to Tarik Cohen starting every game running up the middle for no gain. I know I'm not an nfl scout and analyst, however it's not hard to see the dysfunction and the word communication is wearing thin.
Set up the first field goal in Cairo’s actual range. Kick the extra point. Kick the field goal at 4th and goal. Can’t blame the players for those decisions.
Adam, I think you're spot on. This offense has the stench of EberPoops on it. How does Waldron go from being a proponent of using the TE position a lot to the OC who pretends he doesn't know who Cole Kmet is (other than a motion blocker of stud edge rushers).
100% agreed Adam, great post. When I think of Eberflus, I like what he’s done with the culture but come on, look at the North. O’Connell, Lefleur, Campbell then ‘Flus. Vikes and Packers picked up backups and are already rolling! I believe Ben Johnson is coaching the Bears next year. 100% NOT worried about Caleb. Also, Bears have their number one, Carolina’s 2nd (likely 33rd overall) and the Bears 2nd. I’ll bet Poles goes heavy on O-line. Another thought: offering one of those picks to Dallas for Parsons, since they can’t pay him. Now that’s a defense! Great work as always.
21 to 16 Colts... Eberflus left 11 points on the field! (27 to 26 Bears) We have soooooo very many moving new parts and it's only the thrid game on the new season...damn Chicago...where is the love?
The defensive performance in this game shows us we still need d-line help. The game wasn't lost by the defense, but a good o-line just showed us the glaring deficiency. I'm sorry, but Caleb lost this game with turnovers. He looked really good at times... and really bad. Still not time to panic. He's made leaps and bounds every game and this offense will be humming before the end of the year and will easily be the best QB any of us have ever seen on this team. We should not crucify Waldron yet either as it's still too early. We have plenty of tape on Morgan though... he needs to go. It makes 0 sense to clear house on offense, but keep the coach of the worst performing part of the team during Morgan's tender. Not only kept, but promoted. That make sense to anyone? I also don't understand the calls for Roschon Johnson to get more playing time. He's never looked like anything but an average running back to me, he just does a little bit of everything. We literally have the tape on Herbert being a stud. Swift is nothing but a gadget/3rd down back. Swift is out there looking like he's running to darkness. Herbert should start the game with Swift as the 3rd down back and Johnson spelling them both.
Bears 6-3 by the time we play GB in week 11. My STILL unanswered question is why the hell was RoJo absent the entire offseason, training camp, preseason, hard knocks, and the first 2 games. Couldn’t find any info on him violating a team rule or being a problem. Just makes NO sense. Idc that we signed Swift, Herbert is RB1 on this team and Swift is the change of pace back and use RoJo to relieve Herbert when he needs rest. The other side note I take out of this, is why the hell did it take til week 3 for them to decide to put a cheat sheet for play calls on Caleb’s wristband. Nobody thought that would be a good idea for a freaking rookie QB!?!?
One question, why does the offense bunch tightly together (especially at the goal line) when trying to get the ball in the end zone or pick up a first down? Wouldn't it be better to spread the offense out and get as many defenders away from where the ball is going to minimize the number of people the offense really needs to account for?
I'm not ready to throw in the towel, but I am tired of the lousy coaching. I wasn't expecting the playoffs but I was expecting a better offense and a few more wins.
Rookie QB, 1st year OC, OL needs help. Did you see Matt Pryor do another double jump block last night 😳 at RG? Threw his guy back, saw RT was beat, jumped in the air 😅😅😅 at 6-7 350 about 4 yards of air bro. And blocks the pass rusher in the air who had beat Wright around the edge. Not saying bro is the only answer. But he can definitely be 1. Now, he got moved to LT, idk how he graded i like him as a Guard. Tho he can slide some. Could Wright be better and more consistent than Brax at LT? Then Tevin Jenkins goes to RT and Braxton plays LG which i think he would be very great at. Pry don't wanna change all that midseason 😅 but, in practice i would definitely just give it a look
Thanks Adam - I agree. I can’t believe “genuine” Bears fans are throwing in the towel on game 3; PATHETIC. Yes we need improvement; but it will come. This is a PROCESS whether we like it or not.
Who decided the Offense shouldn't play in the Preseason? I think 🤔 that was likely Flus and Poles. Ian. But i don't think Waldren had much of a say which is Bull 💩. The D was ready so they sat everyone. The O was obviously Not Ready. Smh. So I'm asking the same thing you are... Think it's obvious the OC doesn't have free reign and it's hurting the team. Also, I don't think 🤔 they talked to him about signing Swift 1st. Cause he doesn't seem to have plays for him
Yeah RoJo can get the tough yards. He should start. Tho, Herbert is so electic in space, and does have huge runs inside. Rn we need positive yards and RoJo does that. Herbert has some tfls. Go Michigan on em and just run Blasingame ahead of RoJo and their team is gonna tire out. I'm good w/ 2nd and 7, 2nd and 6. Not 2nd and 11, 16. So that matters.
What do you think 🤔 about Lincoln Riley as HC? I think 🤔 if the $$$ is right he would come be w/Caleb for sure. I don't think 🤔 he likes the B1G. Tho, we kinda need to play more like Michigan here in Chicago tbh.
@@Beardownsports Yeah he would be a perfect OC but he isn't taking that job. You'd have to hire his OC imo. Which, year 1 is usually tough on an OC, usually tough on a Rookie QB. And the OL isn't great so I'm not tripping on Waldren yet. I expect him to have a good 2nd half like Flus did last year and them to keep most this staff
Did Caleb snap the ball under center at all besides that one play that he gets strip sacked? Not taking the snap under center in goal to go situations seems to be a massive problem to me
I watched a guy on Locked on Seahawks when we hired Waldron and he was saying good riddance, because he really thought Waldron was screwing up their running game. Good coaching can take misfits and make them look good scheme and play calling is everything. Also mindset, if guys are trying too think too hard, it affects their play like JF said last year. When I see interviews and clips from hard knocks, I just don’t see the good in Flus that others see. We will never beat the Packers and Vikings with this head coach! One of the first things Flus did was put Jaylen Johnson on second team at practice. ? My first thought was “what a dumbasss!” Also they don’t use Sanborn enough who just plays freaking football the way it should be. Why in the world did Poles go after Swift so much. I groaned, because that was not a huge position of need!! Connor Williams would have been way better money spent all day long!!!!!!!!
I can not disagree with you more. First PFF is at best a data point and often produces some really crazy "scores". Second, ields is outplahying Williams significantly - and behind a porous O line with a very limited receiving corp. I blame most of this loss on Williams- he holds on to the ball too long (see INT), misses open receivers (does Nnot see the field well unless he is looking for the hghlight reel play) is inaccurate ( so many missed short throws especially in first half) and still missing the long throws too often. Three turnovers is not acceptable. We do not know about coaching as I understand Williams was changing plays (as he can) - and short throws, which WIlliams kept missing, arean integral art of the running game. Bears will not improve until he does. Wadromn had wonderful plays to get people wide open. es a few head scratchers.
Offensive line not bad? I agree coaching is an even bigger problem but check the tape on the 4th and goal. Offensive line IS bad - at least they are right now. Not saying they can’t get better but gotta call them as I see them.
What do you expect the line to do when they're calling shotgun handoffs from the 1 yard line and then telegraphed sweep options. That was scheme, not the line.
I disagree, it’s time for doom and gloom, the bears could easily be 0-3. We will probably be last in our division. Caleb , defense, special teams are fine. The offensive scheme is off. We must run the ball better , best friend for a rookie quarterback is a solid running game. Enjoy your channel.
I don't know man.... I hear you and I like what you're saying but on that speed option 4 of the 5 blockers were on the ground instantly. The one thing you have to do on the o line is stay on your feet. I'll grant you, I would not call speed option with Caleb because I don't think he's the threat to get vertical that you would want from a qb with that type of play but if 80% of the line falls on their face you've got no chance. Look at the PFF grades for passing depth. Caleb is god awful in short and deep grades. Top half on intermediate throws but he's got to do better than second to last in the other 2 or you're not going to win anything.
This is a prime example of you guys listening to narratives and taking "lowlight" videos as the end all be all. That was a terrible play call, awful design, and the Colts knew what was coming. There's a big difference between a bad play because of coaches, and normal every snap poor play
Nate Davis is BAD though, too many plays where he just misses. Big the biggest issue is the same issue from last year with the O Line. COACHING. the O Line coach is also the run game coordinator this year, and well, he is a complete inept moron. He should have been fired along with that waste of flesh last year.
He isn't "missing" that many, but he is very undisciplined. Right now, I would say both Nate Davis and Teven Jenkins are on their way out. Neither of them has earned the right to play for this team next year. Chris Morgan needs to make immediate adjustments or be gone.
Vikings OL is far better than the Bears, stop with these bogus grades. Darnold seldom gets touched back there whereas Caleb has been getting his ass handed to him most of the time he drops back to pass. Don't even talk to me about the running game.
1) If our Oline is better than it's been in 4 years that makes a case FOR CMo not against. 2) Roschon isn't an explosive play RB. He can get a few small chunk yards, but so can Blasingame. 3) The problem is the blocking scheme put forth by the coaches. NOT Swift who was a pro bowl back. Unlike RB5 Roschon who sat behind Homer and Velus Jones Jr.

Dude, no question, Caleb has it and he is gonna be elite...already is doing more QB-wise than Fields as a field general/passer
I think any hope of playoffs this season is out the window. We should accept this will be a learning yeah and be happy about hope for the future.
That's preposterous
