RAW: Newbie royal Mounties in drill session

  • Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) looks very imposing. Now a close look at the making of the Mounties might make you laugh. At the RCMP training academy in Regina, Sergeant Pierre Gosselin told us that the most important quality for a Mountie is integrity, but some new recruits may not know how to walk at the very beginning of their 24 weeks training.

    Some of these comments truly disgust me, the RCMP deserve nothing but total respect! To all the people shitting on their drill, learning proper drill takes a lot of patience and discipline, both of which are required to become a proper police officer or as i refer to the Mounties....hero's in red.

    I graduated on July 10 2000. Troop 21! The people wearing the balloon pants and the big hats are very close to graduation, less then a month to go! Be safe brothers and sisters!

      I have a question, is the drill the same for RCMP and for the armed forces? Because I can see a few differences but I still think if I switched over I’d be ok.

    If the United States Marines were allowed over here in Canada to join the RCMP training, they would pass this like nothing as of the harsh training they go through in boot camp and also would make excellent swat team as of combat training. It's something to see what the U.S. Marines go through as of recruits. Anyone who signs up in that sweats.

      These people are police officers, not military. For the most part, ex military make terrible police officers. This is one of the MAJOR problems americans have in their police forces. The RCMP spend most of their time in class learning the law. Police need to think for themselves, not a military trait.

    Gee! they've got the marching down fairly well but the real question is: Can and Do they think or do they simply react these people are dangerous and we really don't care if they can march and take orders please don't kill anyone.

      Thank you for your response/reply. I wish there was a "...snow flake safe space..." to retreat to, from these police gang thugs. Unfortunately, mindsets such as yours, provide these thugs the continuing opportunity to abuse citizens rights and operate blatantly outside of the law, so I guess it is safe to say you and your ilk are providing them with a "...snow flake safe place..." to do their dastardly deeds. "There are none so blind as those that choose not to see." Simply google RCMP misconduct, and watch these thugs in action, perhaps then you may see the light and realize these employees need to be held to account for their actions as any citizen should.

    lol, none of these guys are sticking around! the RCMP is the laughing stock of most Canadian police forces. The majority of these guys are getting the heck out of dodge when they get the call from a municipal force close to home.

    • @ThePaw24
      @ThePaw24 5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @Jonathan Land......Actually the RCMP are quite the opposite. They are the best trained hence why municipals will scoop them up in a heart beat if one of them decides to flip. Now the fed government has definitely not treated them very well when it comes to compensation but when it comes to over all training an RCMP member is exposed to more and learns more much faster than any other general duty police member from any other police force across Canada because an RCMP member does everything. There are a lot of great municipal police forces across Canada but all of them can't compare when it comes to their recruit training and variety of exposure when it comes dealing with calls. And I am speaking from first hand experience. An RCMP member may flip to a municipal for many reasons. They do not want to transfer to another post and want to remain near family and friends, they didnt get the Province they so desired right out of depot so they pulled suck and flipped, they may have a compassionate reason like a sick family member in another part of the country but it didnt meet the criteria for a compassionate transfer from the force. A lot of members realized the grass was not nearly as green as they thought on the other side and a lot of members still to this day look to remount back to the RCMP.
