  • Less well known than his Clan Chief or Machair Claret, John Kennedy's Brigadier is an excellent choice for loch sea trout and salmon, as well as being effective for browns and rainbows.     Materials list
    Hook: Kamasan B175 size 8-14
    Thread: Black Uni 8/0
    Tail: Golden pheasant crest
    Rib: Fine silver wire
    Body: Black seal fur
    Body Hackle: Claret (use hen or a soft low grade henny cock)
    Head hackle: Blue peacock neck feather

    Wow - beautiful pattern with my favorite hackle (peacock). Hope to try these on steelhead this year.

    Nice! Really like the peacock hackle. Never used it before. Bet it would make a nice accent on some warmwater patterns too.
