    Thanks everybody for watching. Use code "BRACKET" for 10% off at the Etsy Store www.etsy.com/shop/YellowVette04. Love the seats and although the brackets needed a little massaging, they're in and looking great. Few things I would do over is drill the holes in the brackets as far back as possible. Links in Bio to everything used.

      I saw someone put C8 seats in and that looked great too. The issue is height since the C7 and C8 bottom cushions are much thicker than even stock C5 seats, you may not enough head room depending on driver's height. May not be an issue for most, but I know it is for some that I talked to. Thanks for watching and the comment 👍

      I tried to dye the stitching and it just wasn't taking it. I don't know if there's a stain resistant coating on the stitching or what, but nothing was working. I agree tho, yellow stitching would have been great. That was the reason for getting white lol

      @@YellowVette04 I bought my Evos in 2019 when seat prices were still high. The only advantage to your seats is that I customized my Evos to include inflatable lumbar support and I bought the extra long seat track since I am over 6 feet tall. I was shocked when the prices dropped drastically during COVID times. Moving forward I am going to follow your lead when I replace the seats in my Corvette.

    • @YellowVette04
      @YellowVette04  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The longer seat tracks might be the solution to these not going back enough for taller drivers. The seat "tub" area gets narrower the further you go back bc of the tunnel, so idk how much further you could go, but it might be enough. I'll have to look into longer tracks as a solution. Didn't even know that was a thing lol. Thanks for sharing

    Waste of time and money changing to these inferior seats, compared to factory they don't measure up.. I bet you change them back within the year if you still have the car. • @YellowVette04
      @YellowVette04  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on your opinion on the factory seats. Factory seats are known to have quality issues. Not the end of the world to fix/upgrade, but changing the seats is a popular upgrade. Still using them and holding up well. I used to have your opinion until I sat it aftermarket seats, so I appreciate your comment. Thanks for subbing

    Thanks for another great vid, Dave. Looking forward to an update on the drive. Seats are moving up my priority list since I managed to rip mine while replacing my shift cable linkage. 😳
    My concern with these seats is what you mentioned in your video... I'm 6'3" and if the thigh support seems a little lacking for you at 5'9", I'm thinking I'll notice it a bit more. Hopefully I'll be able to make it out to the spring gathering to check out the seats in person.

      Thanks for the comment and support 🤘. One of the guys that helped me with the bracket fitting issue is 6'2" and he fits, but he did say it's much different than before and he's a lot closer to the wheel. It's a tight fit to go further back, so being your height I wouldn't recommend these seats and would tell you to go with a fixed back which is a lot narrower.

    This Driver's side seat removal and what's involved is fascinating. Could you have just disconnected battery to accomplish the install rather than do the programming the way you did it? As to the install, boy, talk about a custom time-consuming job! Well done! Wish I could have joined you at Mt. Laurel, but with the Michelin "Stickies" there was no way in our Ice Box temps. Save the Wave👋

      I could have disconnected the battery if I knew that was going to happen but I didn't lol. Since I put the driver's side module back there's no issue, but if I didn't then I would have to pull the other fuses. It was cold so I get it. Had about 20ish vettes show up

    Just to add to the sitting position. They wont actually go much further back than yours are now. The seat base, specifically the seat back lever is jammed up the center console and wont go back any further. I got it to go back a smidge more by cutting out some insulation there and trimming the lever cover. Still was a little closer than I like being 6ft even. My Corbeaus sit back further thankfully
    Also.. Be sure to really look into those seats carefully. As I mentioned in a previous video I returned them after seeing how ridiculously unsafe mine were. I would hate to see someone get hurt man.
    Good video though, keep the channel going

    • @YellowVette04
      @YellowVette04  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're right about the lever being jammed in. I first tried removing the plastic trim on the lever, but it was so wedged in there that the mechanism wouldn't operate correctly so I put the cover back on. I can see the Evos fitting a lot better since they're fixed back and not as wide. What quality issue did you see with the seat? I just want to make sure I don't overlook the same possible issue.

    • @KOoKeDKiNgK1Lu
      @KOoKeDKiNgK1Lu 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@YellowVette04 So I noticed my seat back had a decent amount of flex in it when pushing against it. In any other seat Ive been in they are locked in place and you cant push the seat back back at all. This is to keep you in place during an accident obviously. So I went to the passenger side to see how that seat reacted and I actually bent the seat back when pushing against it. I got in touch with the seller and they gave me a full refund. If the seat back comes loose or apart during any kind of accident, you can kiss your back goodbye.
      I was okay sacrificing comfortablity, fitment, and feel for the price but not safety. So I went with the Evo X seats instead and man.. They are nice

    • @YellowVette04
      @YellowVette04  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The valves in the bags degrade over time for the lumbar, so they'll fill up and then leak air out which is a common issue. Happened on mine as well. The seat not raising seems like something else and not sure what that could be. New seats is the way to go if you're not a fan of the stock seats. You'll get more support and all that with new seats. If you go with these seats, you need to modify the hole location on whatever brackets you go with. If you swap out the C5 belts for C6 belts, then you may not need to modify the brackets since the seats won't need to be swapped, driver- passenger and passenger-driver.

      The modifications to the bracket will depend on the seat choice. If you get these seats, you'll have to modify any bracket you get. If you choose a seat like Corbeau Evo X, those brackets fit right in bc it's a fixed back and the seats fit no problem.

      One of the guys that helped me with my bracket issue is 6'2" and he said it was a tight fit, but he fits. I do think I could have moved the mounting holes further back and gotten a little more rearward travel, but idk how much. The recliner trim is jammed into the tunnel, so that might be the limiting factor if I could get these seats to go back more. The overall width at the bottom of these with the lever is 18.5" so that's why I recommend fixed back if you're taller. Most of those are narrower and you'll have the travel necessary.

      I still have the seats and still like them. I just haven't been driving the car as much as i used to with a growing family taking up all of my free time.

    Are these seats vinyl or leather, they are priced as if they are vinyl, and I live in Arizona, so I would be swimming in my sweat.

      They're vinyl. I'm waiting to see how they are in summer. So far they've been great, but it's not 95° with 90%humidity yet either lol

      Definitely send me an email with the pics, yellowvette04yt@gmail.com, I would like to see them. I like the improvement the seatbelts make on the interior. You'll love it once it's all back together.

    how safe are these seats vs oem

    What brand are those seats?

    • @YellowVette04
      @YellowVette04  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They're from Amazon. From what I've found, it's the same supplier for Braum Elite and Cipher seats, those manufacturers just install their own seat skins with logos. That could be wrong, but that's what I read.

    They look good, YV. BUT-How comfy are they for 65 year old asses on a 300 mile long trip?

    • @YellowVette04
      @YellowVette04  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did 100+ yesterday and there was no fatigue or body aches at anytime. I would usually have to stretch and do other things in my stocks just to feel better. That being said, the bolstering is pretty aggressive so it keeps you planted in the seat and makes it a little difficult getting out of the car. I'm 5'9" with a 34" waist and not exactly fit, so if you're taller or bigger these might be a really tight fit. Depending on how you like to drive, these may not be for you. Not going to sell you on these just bc I love em. I just think they won't be for everybody.

    I actually put the Sparco Sprints in my C5 Corvette, and I really like them! I don't daily drive mine, so harnesses and fixed back seats weren't really an issue! But, they're SO much better on track! th-cam.com/video/cu1kZ8ZHLB8/w-d-xo.html
